You ever get a feeling of an old memory as you listen to a song like this that you loved? A sensation of being there? In 66 I was 8 years old. I'm 65 now. I dearly love this song. I'm taken back to a warm summer day in my early teens in the car with a warm summer breeze blowing in the window. A feeling I rarely repeated. Some songs turned into treasures because of that feeling. At 65 I just sat here and listened to this song for the first time in years, and I went right back to that place. Suddenly I was 15 again. It brings back a warm summer day with sunshine and a warm breeze. Incredible music ahead 🎶 of its time.
I am mere 35 years old yet listening to this song now reminded me of my teenage years when I was discovering 60s and 70s music. I can certainly relate to the early memories triggered by other songs. The organ music in Walk of Life by Dire Straits is something I heard as a child in the car but I didn't realise it was that song until many years later.
My dad is 59 and use to sing "whats your name, whos your daddy, is he rich like me" all the time, that lyric was part of my whole childhood. Thank you.
Great music, was 18 in 66 in US, bad time in the country. Vietnam was heating up. Sitting in high school reading a draft notice. Still here at 73!!! Zombies were ahead of the time. Great stuff!!!😎
Happy you're still w/ us, Richard. Canadian here, so our young men haven't felt any need to go off to war since WWII, although we do have peacekeeping troops always somewhere. A very big difference between our two countries.
They were the worst of times , they were the best of times.! Say what you will . We had the best music and variety didn't we ? We loved and lived and died to it . GOD BLESS US ALL AND THIS GREAT COUNTRY OF OURS
@Karma Chameleon I believe there are talented people. They don't stand a chance of being promoted. They must sell their soul and become a puppet of the industry. Personal expression is prohibited everywhere.
Love the song, miss my sister. She loved these tunes!! Me too!! Growing up in Jamaica ,🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲listening to the radio and seeing them on TV back then was awesome!!! Still love it!!
The band are still gigging, on tour right now, incredible musicianship, superb vocals & keyboard from two 77 year-olds! Saw them on Friday in Harpenden, a really great night.
The radio back in the late 60's and early 70's played the hell out of this song and others. I never got tired of that and still don't and I am lucky to be 73 now. Thanks zombies and utube.
We took a lot for granted in the '60s, except for that war. We all drove cool cars; listened to the best music in the world; had groovy friends, and loved with great passion. Never know what you have until it's gone! But the memories still remain.
People that didn't go through that period of time just don't know how screwed up the 60s really were, We about caused the end of the world with the Cuban Missile Crisis, Vietnam, saw President Kennedy get his brains splattered Live then 2 days later they silenced Oswald again Live, then Martin Luther king Jr, Civil rights abused, Bobby Kennedy shot in the head Live again. Woodstock was a drop in the bucket for some kids while we were getting our draft notices. I really think towards the end our music helped us raise awareness that our voices could make a change.
This gives me a feeling of recapturing something beautiful from my childhood that I had forgot about for the last 55 years. The song also has the most memorable keyboards from the 60s

There were the Beatles and the Stones, but the Zombies laid down a couple mind-bogglingly important tracks for the 60s. Wow. I've never heard anyone pull that trick in the verse either. Rim shot and human breath as a ryhthm effect - WOW! This is how you create an amazing groove the sparse way, lots of instruments, sparely applied in a perfect fashion. Then throw on a insanely good melody. I bet they were pissed they didn't get the notoriety. These guys are up there with the Byrds or the Animals as far as I'm concerned.

I grew up in the 80's and 90's... when kids my age were listening to Nirvana and New Kids On The Block, I was listening to this stuff... right around when the radio started calling these songs "oldies". Such great music from that era... the best!
I love this song. It takes me back to my high school days a million years ago. We sure had excellent music to delight us back in the day. Such good stoner music!
I love how this song fits perfectly in its own original time frame yet so ahead of its time , everything jus groovin subtly jams perfect for casting the right energy 🌌

I do remember how much I liked this song when it came out in my high school years. They even played it in the high school dances that I sometimes attended. What a great tune and time to be coming of age!
Man I wish if I'd lived through the 60s and 70s in my opinion they were the best decades for music, I'm thankful I grew up on good music and wasn't influenced by the garbage of this age.
Classic iconic 60s tune! Listern to that organ half way through the song! Mod heaven!!..This song Was way ahead of it's time when it 1st came out, but then most of the zombies records were! very underatad group at the time, now get more recognition for their fantastic songs, the lead singer is a very talented song writer and has a fantastic tone to his voice! Great singer, great group!🎶🎶👍👍🛵
I used to work at Denny’s when I was younger and they use to play this song. I had never heard it before or after I working there. I have thought of this song for 20 years! I couldn’t remember the lyrics, so nobody was able to help me find it. Today I have finally found it... I was watching Cruella with my daughter and I heard the beat of this song and I was like this is the ONE!!! now I’m listening and I can’t get enough of this song 😆 missed it & love it!
Didn’t realize this song was the zombies as I was too young to even understand the concept of musical artists and was pleasantly surprised when I found out. Also enjoyed hearing it in Cruella.
I have only just discovered The Zombies by hearing Time of the Season on the radio at work. This led me to She's Not There. And Summertime. These songs have blown my mind. Opened up a whole new sound I never knew. I feel enriched. I am a new admirer of The Zombies. And not the last.
We lived in Baltimore, Essex to be exact. I remember hearing this one on the radio and my sister’s record player. I remember my Dad taking us to see The Orioles. This was the year they won it all.
The second half of the 60s through the first half of the 70s, in my opinion. I was born February, 1966. This song, in particular, is among my lifelong personal top 10.
The song is so good because it is so evocative of the times. Hearing it takes me right back to Saturday afternoons riding a tandem bike through Golden Gate Park (San Francisco) with my dad, watching the Hippies dance and frolic in the rare sunshine in the park near Kezar Stadium. We would hear this song, plus ones from Cream, Bob Dylan, The Byrds, The Beatles, and so many others playing on transistor radios in the distance. 🏵🌻🌈🌎💞
Rock and Pop Music from the 60's and 70's were like theme songs for the time periods that they came out in and for me that's what they have become every time I hear them, Memories.
This is one of my favorites and it never fails to move me.You know the kind of song that you will finish hearing even if you're late for an appointment.

The lead singer had a stroke, July 2024, retiring- wish him All the Best. I STILL listen and dig. Namaste from Canada
Actually it was Rod Argent who had the stroke. Colin Blunstone is OK.
Wishing Rod Argent a speedy recovery
Classic iconic 60s tune! Listern to that organ half way through the song! Mod heaven!!..This song Was way ahead of it's time when it 1st came out, but then most of the zombies records were! very underatad group at the time, now get more recognition for their fantastic songs, the lead singer is a very talented song writer and has a fantastic tone to his voice! Great singer, great group!🎶🎶👍👍🛵
35 years old and can still appreciate this amazing song.
I'm younger and do too.
I found it because of Cruella too 🤍🖤🤍🖤
20 years? You look soooo young!
When ever I hear the 0:49 the conjuring scene comes to my mind like a bullet. It is stuck in my head
Heard this 1968 song in the Cruella movie last night.
Brought back great memories of my youth.
Cruella Sent me. But to be honest, I’ve been listening to this song for more than a decade.
Didn’t realize this song was the zombies as I was too young to even understand the concept of musical artists and was pleasantly surprised when I found out. Also enjoyed hearing it in Cruella.
also played in Conjuring from 2013
Hi there. Wasant sure I'd even like ' Cruella' but it was so good and paired with a fab soundtrack made it a sunday night well spent ♥️
@@aylagregg1962 the soundtrack was the best thing about the movie tbh
Still remember this jam blaring over my dad's transistor radio, and now playing it in the car on the CD player. 😎💯🦅🦾
Some beer and a smoke can take me back to where i never got to enjoy except through music 🎶 I WAS ALWAYS ALONE BUT GROUPS LIKE THESE KEPT ME SANE 😢
One of the all time greats, dang l love this song.
Magnificent Masterpiece, an all time favorite for over 50 years
We grew up with the best music ever. Have always loved this song...and giant rock concerts thru the 70s...wow. So many fantastic memories. Peace
I have only just discovered The Zombies by hearing Time of the Season on the radio at work. This led me to She's Not There. And Summertime.
These songs have blown my mind. Opened up a whole new sound I never knew. I feel enriched. I am a new admirer of The Zombies. And not the last.
This song is still in fasion, still sounds great and still attracts audiences.🎉🎉🎉Wow😊
We lived in Baltimore, Essex to be exact. I remember hearing this one on the radio and my sister’s record player. I remember my Dad taking us to see The Orioles. This was the year they won it all.
I absolutely love this video. It has the feel, vibe and creativity of the 60’s
Great tune!
Peace
Yea I was always called a throwback because I was born in 1970
@@kerrimiller3397Great time to be born.

Truly one of a kind drum groove!!!! And that B3 player is killing it!!!! Always loved this tune!!!
I have had one part of this song in the back of my head for years and finally found the song very happy 😊
The second half of the 60s through the first half of the 70s, in my opinion. I was born February, 1966. This song, in particular, is among my lifelong personal top 10.
I'm 22 yrs old and I love listening to music like this 💕
The sweetest memories of my life come from this and so many other songs.
Soundtrack of my youth 🎼🖤
Can't get any better than this..!
THIS will always be my favorite Zombies hit. Oh, the memories!! Next would be "Tell Her No." Have a Blessed New Year all you great music lovers!!
...and to you too!!
From one music lover to another 🎶 🎵 ❤
The song is so good because it is so evocative of the times.
Rock and Pop Music from the 60's and 70's were like theme songs for the time periods that they came out in
and for me that's what they have become every time I hear them, Memories.
That’s how we millennials feel about bands like soundgarden, offspring, 3rd eye blind… ✌️
This is one of my favorites and it never fails to move me.You know the kind of song that you will finish hearing even if you're late for an appointment.
Hello Elizabeth, How are you doing?
@@Kelly-nm4kw I'm fine. How are you?

By Far, my Most Favorite Song of the 60's Era Music
This is a great song and Colin Blunstone was a real heartthrob. The Zombies are awesome.

Which one of the last three generations are you saying is underrating this little ditty?
Cant Confirm, Im Gen z and 13 yrs old and still enjoy these songs
@@phenylxeon I'm 12 and living in a mud hut in the Kalahari Desert listening to a homemade radio fashioned from a 12 foot piece of barbed wire and two Coke bottles and I enjoy these songs as well.

damn wat a boss line"whos your daddy"
"is he rich like me"
That line always grabbed my attention too.
Like the way the lyrics flow, along with the next verse.
This whole song takes me back to my youth, but those lyrics hit the hardest!👍🏼👍🏼
First time the term "Who's Your Daddy" was used in pop culture!
That's true....this band coined the phrase "who's your daddy" with this song!
This is certainly among the classics for a long time to come
Proud to be a product of the '60s.
(◍•ᴗ•◍)❤
I'm a 1982 baby but I grew up listening to 1960s music. You were fortunate to live it. All I have is the music, books, and t.v.
