McGoo is the man. I'm 50, and watching this is awesome and beyond because he brought back so many memories. I knew Moeller was around in the 80s, But I never knew he was in the industry deep like that. Blessings to both and wow what an awesome PodCast.
This is the pinnacle of old school history, Magoo knows it all, because he was involved in it all, Legend. And with Moeller as cohost, thank you so much for this...
I'm 49, basically a lifer BMX nerd. This interview was incredibly interesting and relevant to everything going on anywhere. The overall moral of the story that BMX itself created is ... Bliss Manifesting Excitement Every one here, Moeller, Fudger, McGruther...just know this. Love what you do and others will attract to that whom also love what they do and eventually everyone does what they want and people cease hating going into work, because they believe in the person at the helm loving what they're doing. Mcgoo always loved what he did, even if others only saw him as a smartass always poking holes in what others didn't know. He was an educator, a bit of a scary Catholic nun at times, but he wanted to cultivate the best in everyone, let's get everyone out of their box and into their actual skillets. Which is legendary for anyone that travels the path of loving what they do... Learning is a way of life. Have fun with it. It's interesting to imagine how different this conversation would be if barter/trade/money had never been invented. Because then it would only be about passion fueling passion. Fudger already reflects this.
I forgot all about McGoo being with CW. I've have been out searching the internets high and low for a video of CWs tour in the summer of 1985. I had just turned 14 and July of that year CW came to a city near me, Urbana, Illinois. I'll never forget it. They blocked off a whole block right in the middle of Main street. Quarter pipe at one end, kick turn ramp at the other. I was there with my dad, brothers and cousins. It was my first treat of watching Dizz ride. There was a guy on, I think, a mountain bike riding wheelies up and down the block. Was that McGoo? I'm not sure. That was almost 40 years ago now! I don't know if it was taped but that would be cool to see again. Great memories of youth!
Absolutely loved this. Props to OurBMX for really becoming the heart and soul presence of BMX across the ages. And Props to McGoo not only for one of the most candid, informative interviews, but for all he's done for the culture of BMX. I truly had no inkling of his presence and influence. A gentlemen's tip of the hat and sincere thank you 🤘
Loved the discussion about technology, planned obsolescence, and the need to educate BMX consumers about product design. It's astounding to me the lack of knowledge kids have about the bikes they're riding at the local parks. I even had one laugh at me for saying "frame geometry" as if I'd made up that term.
Ive always loved hearing these old stories. I kinda wish my uncle had been born a bit later to go through this era of bmx. Uncle was born a bit earlier. The old schwin stingray stuff was more his era. And the early days of bmx and also choppers in a sense where people would modify bikes. By the time real bmx stuff started coming around he was already into bikes and race cars.
This was spectacular! Chris and Harold are national treasures. Hearing the stories, and hearing Magoos laugh for the first time in 20 years was awesome!
@tjborboa722 dude you realize how tight knit bmx is right? Especially at the big levels. I was a greasy emo kid shop rat riding with dudes like Chris silva and chijioke okafo or Mike grey. Crumlish. But it's also still a big enough world that people often don't get to see each other for time but were real friends. Shit. Dudes can't be happy hearing a friends voice again? Shiiiiiiit
This was everything! Used to love when Magoo and Fudger would post and reply to my letters in PLUS and RIDE. AT 46, I feel like I’m getting the behind the scenes from the era I came up in. Thanks guys for this one.
It’s great to see Magoo thriving and hear his stories. I was fortunate enough to spend a little time around him in the 1980s. He was always fun to be around and he always treated me well. He’s a fantastic storyteller who lived it and always seemed to be rooting for all aspects of BMX to flourish. Unfortunately, I don’t think I’ve ever met Chris, but I admire his riding and his dedication to the sport. Magoo-thanks for sharing your stories and experiences with all of us!
I met a cool dude through Allen Goulding in Macon. What's up Ken, it's Eddie. Hope all is well youngster. I was lucky to meet Mcgoo and Moeller at the same Swampfest. I walked up to Crandal and Mcgoo and asked for a picture. Mcgoo says do you know who I am. I said come on Mcgoo of course I do.
When I seen the run time on this video I knew I wanted to save it for a special occasion. I hope it didn’t mess you up with your numbers. I knew I was going to love it. You had slipped out in a previous video that it was coming so I have been looking forward for it even more than a normal unclicked podcast. I knew I was going to leave a comment but I couldn’t remember everything I wanted write so I started a little post it note. Thats definitely a first for me. You know I never actually knew your first name until this episode I didn’t put it together until this episode. I gave your personal IG a follow not that it really matters. Loved the insights of the Torker brand and the double top tube and how it was inspired out of necessity. The name drops threw the entire episode was nuts. Spike Jones and his pre skateboarding life was even in the mix. I loved how his attitude was always to look forward to your best days being in front of you and to respect the past but don’t live in it. One of the main things that I am going to take into my life going forward. I loved this episode. One spot in this video has a hard cut and the video goes to black for a couple seconds. I thought my internet was down so I pressed rewind and the stupid chapter select took me way back so I had to find the spot I left off and found the dead screen again. Very curious because your not sloppy at editing so it makes me think that you did it on purpose and now the lost seconds are fascinating to me. What was it that was so bad that got removed? Especially since neither of the guys seem to care anything about voicing their opinions or ruffling any feathers. I guess we will never know. Or maybe it was not done intentionally. I hope you keep doing some episodes that are like this. If it doesn’t get the viewers I understand. Like the guy’s said when you went to the restroom. The people who watch it will definitely watch it and the rest of them will not. I took lots away from this episode and truly appreciate what all three of you guys have done in your own way for the whole sport. Anytime you can get Chris on the show it’s been great and with him talking to a life long friend it was amazing. Keep up the good content and thanks for putting this out in the world.
Just curious since you guys are the type I'm tryna appeal too if I were to get a brand started. Would you guys care if a brand came out with parts in a new steel alloy that actually made them like 20 percent lighter while being 60 percent stronger and as much as 100 percent more dent resistant in key areas like the bottom and sides of the downtube and top and sides of the top tube. Or the outside sections of the stays. Even if it cost a bit more money?
Honestly I think BMX is cyclical and one of the biggest indicators IMHO is how strong is the race scene? Part of this is access. When BMX racing is booming there are tracks everywhere and that means there is access. Plus its out in the open and its approachable because its organized and looks professional and established. Also when you have a strong race scene, you typically have a strong dirt jump/trail scene because those racers ride dirt and there are lots of them and the tracks are only open 3-4 days a week. Like Moeller said all these kids are on 26" dirt jumpers and enduro bikes. I founded and run the Cottage Grove Bike Park in Cottage Grove MN and that started as a group of BMX riders but now its 70-80% mountain bikes and dirt jumpers.
First time watching one of your podcasts and I think i picked a winner. Can't believe how much I learned and that I kept coming back to listen to another hour here an hour there. Really appreciate the history lesson but more importantly reinforcing the responsibility we all have in our sports to be representatives, ambassadors, entertainers, and journalists.
OMG! This is history with truly BMX’s most colorful person ever. Great work Ryan And Moeller getting McGoo over. I’m 20minutes in, and holy cow, what a treat. ❤
Well worth the 5 hours... they speak the truth. BMX needs fun... Thank you to OUR BMX for making this happen, and thank you to Magoo and Moeller for sitting down and taking the time to enlighten the BMX community.
I rode BMX at rockville skatepark from 2006-2011 having never really known that I was riding at one of the original BMX towns in the world. I wish Rockville bmx was still around
John Kovachi Sad 2:53:38 Absolute Legend, this podcast is super entertaining and right now super sadge and depressing lol Hope things for BMX look up I love the older generation and I am old now but it's like hip hop /rap ( in a sad state right now) hopefully there's a way to get these kids back on BMX bikes I KNOW I"M TRYING MY ASS OF TO GET KIDS AND ADULTS, MEN, WOMEN, and WHOEVER back on BMX bikes Actual 20 inch BMX Bikes 1 Love
4:52:50 Every bmxer should watch this. So much to comment on, but my God, this was the best one Ryan. There seemed to be some drop off's maybe at appropriate times. Thank you McGoo for the influence. You were annoying in the BMX Plus video, but I'm pretty sure you made up for that since. Awesome job.
It’s all been said in these comments but the roots of freestyle run deep in this interview. Hopefully the next gen can listen and learn what started it all. Fudger your channel and podcast are amazing, appreciate everything you do and all the content. 🙌🙏
Wow! What a great podcast Ryan, it’s Super G and I was lucky enough to spend sometime during my BMX journey and McGoo and Moeller shared lot’s of Bmx insights of where they thought things would go.My Jump Yo’ Jalopy contest at Sheep Hills and Twin Palms contest we’re about one word that? McGoo would plug-in Haveing FUN on your BMX bike. Super good interview. 🥰🔥
Took a couple of sittings but fully worth the time! This was so awesome, so much insight and experience between these two Legends. Absolutely loved it. ❤👊🏻
Downhill BMX was bananas 🍌 and personally, I would LOVE to see that make a resurgence. And as far as brands that I see innovating, I’d say WTP is pushing boundaries with their swamp monster. Granted, it isn’t the first full sus bmx bike, but bikes like that could reinvigorate downhill bmx which could make the bmx racing very interesting and entertaining again. However, I do also agree that kids probably aren’t stoked on bmx like the old days is as mentioned that the level of trick difficulty these days is not at all relatable or even realistically obtainable to you’re average 12-15 year old pedaling around. I’ve said that for decades about how companies like red balls take things like bmx and turn them into blood sports with do or die consequences. The wheelie bike shit doesn’t have those consequences and advocates fun and look what is currently thriving at the moment but even that seems to have plateaued already. The only growth I see in the cycling industry lately is E bikes and mountain bikes. Anyways, if BMX wants to continue to live and actually grow again, they need to bring back the cruising around with your friends and just having fun again bunnyhopping curbs n shit again.
So awesome! Watched all five hours of it and loved every second of it!! The question I keep asking myself is how do these guys remember all this stuff?? Absolute legends!!
Man this one was so good. I’ve loved all the Moller ones so damn much I’ve made my wife listen to them haha. Road Fools 4 was one of my favorites I never knew that Magoo was this magoo 😂😂😂 great one Ryan - Tony Campos
Great episode! A little frustrating though that Fudger kept saying he wanted to talk about Snafu, but then all that was covered was the end of it. Really wanted to hear about the formation, product design, and initial team. Regardless, loved this.
A snafu specific follow up would be good. I only ever gave the pedals a chance and wasn't a huge fan of the other parts, but many mid schoolers had many snafu bits on their rides
I was just on RL's facebook page earlier this week, because I was thinking about bikes, and thought of him. He's got arthritis in his neck and back that the doctors say isn't fixable. When it hurts to move, even riding like he was a couple years ago is kinda out.
Looked this up today due to Chris posting about it on his IG. Love bmx history! I'm that 42yrs old that's stuck in the 90s early 2000s bmx cuz I can't relate to today's bmx. No magazines and social media is too fast pace for bmx info
Trust me, I'm not knocking today's bmx. Due to social media, it's too fast pace to keep up with everything. I don't have a clue who is who. At least with magazines and videos like props I could always go back. With something in my feed, if I accidentally hit a button on my phone. I lose the video and can't remember who posted it.
The wheelie bike is the real killer of BMX right now. It’s not at the death defying level, it’s stylish, obtainable and probably more comfortable to ride distance on. My local BMX scene has been completely replaced by the wheelie scene.
I was hoping mcgoobs had a good fiola story ,, but not this time…my era of freestyle was 86,87 and I was every5hing Gt and Eddie and Martin….the rad yrs ,makes me feel like a kid again and that’s priceless these days….thanks mcgoo….
What a great podcast interview ever! So much bmx history from both Chris and Mcgoo. ! I'll be 55 next month and I've been back to riding bmx freestyle on a 20 inch since 2001. Started riding a bike in 1974 and stopped riding after I graduated in 1987. So everything Chris and Mcgoo I understand. I always wanted to know how he got the nickname Mcgoo.
McGoo is the man. I'm 50, and watching this is awesome and beyond because he brought back so many memories. I knew Moeller was around in the 80s, But I never knew he was in the industry deep like that. Blessings to both and wow what an awesome PodCast.

This interview was BANANAS! Great stories and history. Moeller was perfect co-host for this. So much fun, thanks for this!

This is gold, thank you McGoo, Moeller and Fudger for getting this done. I’ll be listening to this many times over and I don’t think it will get old.

Documenting history. Beyond BMX This is professional businessman knowledge.
Watching it again while I work on my mid school collection
Absolutely Incredible!!!! Thank You all for this one!!!
Harold has forgotten about bmx more than most industry people have ever known.
BMX history gold from start to finish. Thanks for this.
Best Unclicked yet. Still the same hilarious straight talker he was back in the day.
Thanks for putting this one together. When he called them Corn Biscuit i lost it. And the Hart story.
So many amazing quotes. I couldnt listen to most people talk for an hour, I can listen to you guys talk for 5 hours easy.

The black screen threw me off too, but I assume they took a break and the editing didn't go so well.
I’m 34 and this is was soo good. Thanks to all for making this happen
This is why I ride a S&M and ride Biltwell bars on my chopper! This is the soul of BMX! 👊🏻⚡️🇺🇸

Chris was the perfect choice to have on this one. Such a good listen. 👍
Holy Shit... I Learned how to fix my bike for the first time from a book at my library.. Moeller is awesome..
Thanks for this. 37 years in the bike industry. Life revolved around BMX from early 80s until 2000ish so all this hit home.
This is freakin' great. 2 1/2 hours last night. Now doing round 2. Great podcast Ryan.
This is amazing!!! Anyone who loves BMX needs to listen to this. Best way that I can think of to spend 5 hours aside from on my bike…
This has so much relevant information and life lessons not just for BMX but life in general.
I really liked this history lesson. Took all day to listen to it but I enjoyed every minute of it
2 hours in, bmx history is awesome and the stories are hilarious! Thanks
This conversation rips! Thanks fellas👍
The best podcast!! These stories are amazing. Thanks McGoo for doing this!
Great episode, I’ve only been riding bmx since 2016 so it’s cool to learn so much history from a legend
New drinking game; drink whenever Mcgoo says Bananas.
this was seriously one of the best and most informative unclicked of all times! every bmx rider should watch this. I promise you will learn so much!
Listened to the whole thing straight through. Love the history and perspective
Ask McGoo was unreal. Thanks for reminding me of it.
Wish the Aitken interview was this long. I remember McGoo from old ride days letters !
Awesome interview and insights! I feel like McGoo is probably STILL talking!
Well worth the 5 hours... they speak the truth. BMX needs fun... Thank you to OUR BMX for making this happen, and thank you to Magoo and Moeller for sitting down and taking the time to enlighten the BMX community.
As a 40 yr old this is amazing to listen too
This made my day/week. Thanks Fudger for everything you’re doing. Legends, all three of you.
This was rad!!! Thanks for puttin' in the time fellas👍
I rode BMX at rockville skatepark from 2006-2011 having never really known that I was riding at one of the original BMX towns in the world. I wish Rockville bmx was still around
The best 5 hours spent on YT! And I still want more! 😂
THANK YOU Ryan, one of the best pod cast yet 🤟🤟
hands down the best Unclicked podcast so far
Best podcast/interview I have ever seen! I thought i knew a lot about Magoo, but damn! Chris, you are the Barbra Walters of interviewers.
YES! Listening to first time. THANK YOU RYAN FUDGER!!!!!! This will be great!
'And then i drank it! ' too funny! Thanks for this! Loving the history and stories! Only two hours in and can't wait to hear the rest of this gem!
0 - 100! Love it. Always great to get some insight into past BMX.

Didnt think I'd get a chance to watch this one, but couldnt stop once started. Goodbye Thursday. Nice Ep, cheers!
I don’t quite get it all but I couldn’t take my eyes and ears off this one. Nice one Ryan

best podcast ever. learned so much. Moeller and McGoo rule Bmx!! Now I know what went on behind the scenes back in those years.
Best one yet, brilliant insight into the history of the industry, well played!
The lifers are us flatland guys. We schedule life around riding lol.

Fantastic podcast. 1 minute in and my sides were splitting, and it only got better from there. When’s part 2?😍

This was another great podcast! I was a kid in the mid- to late-1990's, but the 80's stories were also nice to hear.
Best episode ever!!! Salute McGoo and Moeller!
Watched the whole thing and lived all of it!!
Golden Era. Glad I was and still am part of it.
Dude, Magoo on the Huffy in Road Fools 4 is LEGENDARY. This is going to be great. So stoked it’s super long too. Thank you!!!
informative and hilarious podcast! love hearing abt how the scene grew from the efforts of these legends.
took me a few day but I got through it. what a treat. legends all around.

Guess i'm one of them 50's to finished it, great one this is. Thnx guys ♻️
Looked this up today due to Chris posting about it on his IG. Love bmx history! I'm that 42yrs old that's stuck in the 90s early 2000s bmx cuz I can't relate to today's bmx. No magazines and social media is too fast pace for bmx info
Come on youngster. I'm 51, and I like the modern stuff. I love bmx history, and I rode through every era. However the new stuff is where it's at.
Only 45 min in and this is the best 1 yet
The wheelie bike is the real killer of BMX right now. It’s not at the death defying level, it’s stylish, obtainable and probably more comfortable to ride distance on. My local BMX scene has been completely replaced by the wheelie scene.
Great interview. I grew up through most of this. Listened until the end. Great ending quote btw:)
I was hoping mcgoobs had a good fiola story ,, but not this time…my era of freestyle was 86,87 and I was every5hing Gt and Eddie and Martin….the rad yrs ,makes me feel like a kid again and that’s priceless these days….thanks mcgoo….
LOVED THIS thanks for your stories 🙏
Too Good man! Too Good! listened to every minute of this!
Great pod cast. Keep them coming…
This was fantastic. More of this please!
So, so good. Thank you!
McGoo had the best replies for letter to the editor.
Best podcast yet. I have a new found appreciation for Chris and the other old guy. Frigen Mcgoo, seems like a cool dude to know. Thanks Fudger
