You may want to look at a Heritage Milwaukee 8. Very low center of gravity and 150 lbs. lighter. Or, for something much lighter try a Honda 1100 or 1300 or a Kawasaki Vulcan 900 with a couple upgrades for more power. Good luck man!
@@themotorcyclegene Well i also had the Vulcan S, I traded it in for a a Yamaha FJR 1300. Now i have much more power, a better highway and touring bike but the Vulcan still performed well... As a cruiser. Especially in an urban enviroment and I have to admit that it was eaiser to just go for a ride on that one, just because it was a much lighter bike, eaiser in and out the garage and so on... With all that said im happy with the FJR. There is no perfect bike and the best thing would be to have two bikes. One for touring and another one for everything else.
I'm in the same situation.. I have a HD Ultra Classic and I'm not nearly making the long distance road trips as I had initially planned. I too am thinking of downsizing for the same reason, the commute to and from work would be more enjoyable with a lighter bike.

Your bike is nice. I like your ISU t-shirt.
Well you had the Vulcan S... Might wanna go back to that one!
It was a great bike but I think I want some larger than 650 but smaller than my 1800 plus cc (111 cubic inch) Roadmaster.

I commute far more often than I take trips.
