Its blitz. Even super computers have trouble playing top moves in that time frame.
Yeah, we all are humans after all, however gotta remark, their "mistakes" are the equivalent to a decent move to an average human, because most of them are not really mistakes, but just a choice that is not as strong as other

After you meet someone you don’t need to impress them or give a good first impression anymore.
I love having the board on the screen. It’s cool to see how the meter moves based on the moves. As a beginner I have no idea if it’s a good move or terrible so it is helpful.

I realize there's no way you ever see this, but Rey is a brilliant chess hustler... really... I saw the Karpov match too and your match with him only cemented what I knew I was seeing... I loved the banter between you two, it was like seeing thought processes... really nice... but Rey has a knack when the time control gets chilly... you even mention it yourself in the end frenzy... but he's a defensive/tactical player at heart... his skill is in keeping the game interesting through the longest part of the clock.... his talent is in seeing tactics quickly... he gets it going around the 20 second mark and sails away... Rey has skill no doubt... you have skill too... but there's a reason Rey doesn't play classical time controls... tactics, my chess compatriots, lead to great blitz results!
Second game was a completely madness! (including those heavy pieces were falling on the board). Well, everyone watched that you deserved to win the match, according to what was seen in the games. Sorry for my English, but it is not my first language. Thanks for this content, Levy.

Oh my God, I LOVE it when you play yourself in a weird position and the opponent attacks and you STILL manage to defend somehow just like that, like saying "you have nothing". Stockfish does a lot of that, but I never saw a human with a playstyle like that

He usually uses a voice changer in his channel, and mostly on TV, but when he does street chess, he needs a way to hide his true voice, so he practiced that head voice just for these moments.

The problem is your rook is tied to the first rank or else there's Rf1 Kc2 Rc1#, so you can't play Rxe8 and by extension Qxe8 either. The way to go about it is you must throw in Qe5+ intermezzo, this forces king to go to the backrank so Qxe8 is available, since QxQ will have RxQ with check, so there's no checkmate for black. That was the one important tempo
