Lyrics:
Here Come the Wolves
They're coming with their torches, they're coming with their verse
They're coming with a single glassy eye
Into the echo chamber
A crowd begins to form
So crowded you can't even see the sky
Here Come the Wolves
They're coming for your children
They're coming for your rights
They're coming with their Jesus and their goons
And then the shore will wither
And then the roads will pitch
Sound the drum, for they are coming soon
Here Come the Wolves
He is a wild pony, she is a wild horse
Together they will race to stem the tide
Into the hidden caverns
Into the sunken hills
Unplug the world and follow us inside
Wires needled under skin
Connect to Mothership
Treadmill living makes us strong
We're healthy but we're sick
Here Come the Wolves
Beauty born in poverty
Dreams die on the hill
From our knees, yes pretty please
Administer the pill
Feed our master, feed him faster
Work, then drink, then sleep
When I'm done, lost and numb
Begin me another week.
Here Come the Wolves
In the evening I'm tired of walking, I go down to the river and I think about nothing
I sit down and I try to figure why I followed myself down here
There were times when things were better and times when things were worse
In the evening I'm tired of working, I go down to the river and I think about nothing
I was thinking on the back of a stone, I was thinking 'bout leaving, I was thinking 'bout home
I think of you when I wanna remember what it felt like to be free
Deep in the valley, up the mountain, beyond the river clear
In the evening I'm tired of working, I go down to the river and I think about nothing

That’s a lot of talent in one man.
I love you brothers
Like an entire new Rheos album in one song!...Well done gents!
maaaaaaan...beauty on
That's an amazingly wonderful song and video...shows why art should be more.. the love thrown in..
The world is a better place when there is a new Rheos album. It makes dealing with the wolves a little easier.
I love that the mountains in the painting are actually the fish from Melville!
Good catch! hadn't noticed that. And now I'm seeing whales in the clouds and know I'm missing so much more.
It's like a piece of my own soul has been missing for 12 years... and now it's back.
So happy. Now come to Vancouver and play it live, we've been waiting for you since 2007!
Can't wait to see you at Calgary Folk Fest !!!!
I keep listening to it over and over again
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Marty's is my favourite voice of all time.
Awesome!!!
Saw them open for The Hip at Cobo in Detroit a long time ago. Haven't stopped listening since. Thank you Kevin for opening my eyes to them.
Friends Steve & Shaun used to play with these guys. Now I'm sorry I didn't keep up with the band after Melville? Wish they had more play on FM. Forgot how damn good our bands are before the Yankees get a hold of them. Here come the Wolves!
More,again,now!
Spectacular and triumphant return.
...and they are back. WOOT!
love the painting with its reference to Colville's "Horse and Train"
Wow. Goosebumps! ❤
Like all the best Rheos tunes, I wasn't sure at first, then after 3 listens I fell in love.
Outstanding!!
this rox!
Oh So Glad!! I wish I could put into words what the Rheos music past and Present has impacted me!! Thank you Lads for this newest creation!!
This is the best song from the new batch. I love that they picked it - what a return!
MARTIN!.....Love the new painting - missed you guys, yall' fill a geat space in Canadiana Indie music! - Looking forwards to this new offering!...Here come the wolves!
Welcome Back to Wherever We Are!
Beauts!
Damn!
A juicy recording! Intoxicating music. And Martin's painting calls to mind Alex Colville's 1954 painting "Horse and Train" (and also Bruce Cockburn's 1973 album "Night Vision" which adapts the image as album artwork). Haunting and powerful. Colville, Cockburn, Rheostatics - all quintessentially Canadian.
Thank goodness for more Rheostatics! Heard this tune on “q” the other day, & very much like the direction the band has gone.
Thanx for this posting!
holy fuck.
Amazing stuff, everything these guys produce is magical! Also, left side of Martin's painting, is that the album cover for Melville? Hidden meaning??? Haha I'm definitely looking way much into probably nothing, either way, way to go Rheos, you guys rule! :)
I think this is Martin's, looking at Alex Colville lately :) Dig the new tune
