Been watching your videos lately and won a tournament thanks to these fundamentals you teach. I have developed a new appreciation for this game thanks to you. Cheers bro.
Yeah, I've been beat this way and then the villain gloated about it, but generally if they're a true nit they'll be folding on the turn. When they don't that's when I reassess figuring they have at least a big pair or straight. I don't mind losing a shove once in a while but I would much rather fold at the turn if my barreling is not pushing them out by then. Maybe I'll try this more often and see what's up. I see some play a lot of bluffs and build good stacks. But some push it too much and end up losing everything they gained.
True. A nit isn’t calling after the flop and the turn without a very strong hand. Time to give up 99 percent of the time if he called you every time. Yes, he may fold a K or an A on the river, but chances are you will more often lose alot of $ if it got to there…?
but thats not what a nit is so idk why you would love a inaccurate and/or wrong description. its actually some1 who HASNT learned the game and is still learning the beginning stages but wants to find the right formula and frequency for every play and situation so therefore plays tighter then normal because their out of their comfort zone when bluffing too much or chasing too much. NITS are easily bluffable.
I don't mind getting called down in a bluff. I play low stakes and the nits don't fold if they have middle pair or a strong draw. I may bluff 3 streets and get caught, but I pot control to lose as little as possible. I don't find bluffing at low stakes to be the most profitable play, but doing it early in the session helps me get paid on made hands. You can't always showdown with strong hands, you want them to know you can bluff.
Poker is like quantum physics. The rules are clear cut and simple for what happens in any situation that proves to be correct in every scenario every time. Except for the times its not. 😂 Example: pocket jacks. You 3 bet pocket jacks every time. Except for when its an instafold. 😂
Calculated bluffs WORK. They make it harder for people to put you on a hand, you bet to see what the other players will do, and you can bet then improve your hand and shove knowing you still have the best possible hand atm. People with draws will call, likely draw dead and try to bluff in return or fold, basically paying you off.
It's true that a higher barrel and double barrel frequency will increase ur win rate because u win more pots that opponents dont hit hard enough on, and u also get called down lighter because u look more bluffy, but I wouldnt try to triple barrel a nit. Nits are super tight, so if he called ur cbet, hes probably not going anywhere. Hes probably trapping u. If u get stubborn and double barrel and he calls u, hes taking u to the deep end of the pool. Abort mission. What about when a nit has 2nd pair, wont they call 2 barrels? Remember, nits are super tight. They dont like putting chips in if they dont hit the flop strongly. If they only have 2nd pair on the flop, they fold to ur cbet and they wait for a better spot.
it depends on dynamics and the player type if its a type of guy that never calls with smthin like K7, K8 and always folds all of his Kx and rly is sum microstakes weak reg, this becomes pretty printing bluff. However if its sum reggish type of nit that knows u well and knows u capable it becomes kinda close and I would rly look at the dynamics to do it. If u look laggy whole game better reg might realize u will overbluff this type of board and might get stationy.

In a real poker game with good players, and against one opponent, maybe. In my game, where 10 people regularly take the flop, raised pot or not, bluffing is suicidal. It's; make the best hand, shove or get out of the way.
