I put 1/4" wing nuts for adjustment and rubber vacuum caps on the feet of the clamp for stability and so it doesn't mar the kitchen table. The machine itself works very well.
Thank you for building a great annealing machine. I just ordered one and am waiting eagerly for its arrival. I run a small reloading and gun channel here on UA-cam as well. Will be doing an unboxing and getting set up video as well. Take care. Echo
Can I convert a gen3 into the gen2 torch style and position if I source my own hose? Is there anything preventing mounting the torch the same as the previous model?
the wheels on the gen 2 and gen 3 move in opposite directions.. will make it difficult to place the torch on the other side of the machine. if you want to send your Gen 3 back, we do have some scratch and dent Gens 2 available on the website..
Changed the design since I bought mine, hmmm... I set my gen2 up so the torch points forward(away from wheels) so not sure how people were having issues with getting the wheels hot. Read that same thing a few other times, about the wheels getting hot. Why change the rotation ? Seems you could use the gen3 bottle setup on a gen2 by just putting the bottle on that side. I use a 5lb propane bottle on mine so I prefer the hose system.
Some of his change was cost saving factor. The other was changing the wheel rotation made it where he could put the tank on the opposite side where there would be an easier way to get the flame more forward as to not damage the wheels. It made sense for the changes he made even though the Gen 2 looks like in some ways better. Flexibility and costs created the Gen 3. Blame the guys burning the wheels if you don't like his change.
I read that proper annealing requires 700 degrees F, and not higher than 800 F. How do you know if 4 - 5 seconds is enough or not too much under the flame ? Thanks . Also, have you considered attaching an adjustable mount for the torch nozzle so that a larger bottle with hose could be used ?
there are quite a few video on youtube that shows how to use Tempilaq, at 750F.. and all of them has come to the same conclusion, between 5 to 6 seconds you'll reach your target temp.
Great product but you absolutely will melt your wheels I’ve burnt several. The brass heats up to optimal annealing temperatures and after 20-30 rounds the brass heats the wheels. Have fun scraping the plastic off the brace. All this can be avoided if you stand there watching and extending your annealing time.
no reason at all to melt the wheels.. aim the torch correctly and don't heat the brass up past 750F... I've done thousands and thousand of round on the same wheels, they still look brand new..
Obviously, you napped when he did anneal several cases after showing how to adjust the flame and direct it to the case. Watch it again after a hot cup of coffee and have a second one while watching. Even if he didn't did you read the title of the video? But in fact he did anneal cases even if he was nice enough not to correct you and tell you that he did in fact do so.
@@Annealeez You did in fact anneal a few cases in your video. It was so polite of you to not point out to him that he missed it. Nice video I only wish your annealer were as flexible as the Ugly Annealer. I have too many different calibers to have to buy so many different wheel kits it makes it too unaffordable for me. I will be purchasing something late next month. Brass has skyrocketed and hard to find. I have to do all I can to extend the life of all that I have. You do good videos and have a very nice product even though it won't work for me because I need more flexibility in calibers at a more affordable option than purchasing all your wheel kits on top of the machine.
Thanks for the tips in this video! Very useful!

Nice, my machine is out for delivery today. Thanks for the tips, can't wait to try it out
Thank you so much for poating this video
Your peoduct is so awesome and great
Mine is scheduled for delivery today!

I hope you like it.. thank you..

Great machine I have a new gen 2. But like the gen 3 better. Anyone want to trade?

i also changed the wheel alignment, put a stagger from top to bottom of about 25 degrees..

How do you know what temperature you reached?
i used Tempilaq in repeated tests just like many customers... we all have come up with the same times.. 5.5 to 6 seconds under the flame..
How much brass will 1 bottle anneale? Thanks...
i get about 2000 cases out of a singe one pound bottle

You’re not annealing anything
true,, this video was only on how to adjust the flame.. that was better illustrated without a case in front of the flame.. (in my opinion)
