Me too.🖐 Me too. 🖐 I have so many baskets. I sold Longaburger for 15 years. I have baskets everywhere. I have thought about painting or staining some. But never have done so. I think you are talking me into it. I Love the baskets you stained. So beautiful. You always inspire me to try new things. ❤ it was so sweet seeing your Hubby helping you. Sent my Hubby has retired he helps me a lot now, too. Thank you Sweet Friend. Have a Blessed Day.
Thanks my friend! The round baskets actually reminded me of Longeaburger baskets. The rich walnut color looks so pretty on them. I just posted some of photos of them too. I can’t wait for you to see how they look in the dining room makeover! Have a great day!🤗
I think it’s great that Wayne steps in to help you so many times. You are blessed to have a helpful husband. And he’s blessed to a loving and creative wife.
Oh my gosh! I love the baskets!!! I have over a dozen baskets in my basement that I was going to donate. Most are that orangey color that I don’t really like. I never thought of staining them. Now I’m so glad I didn’t give them away. I can’t wait to redo them. I absolutely love your hair! The grey highlights are so pretty with your skin tones!
Hi! Thanks! I’m so glad you enjoyed this. I just posted some photos on my channel so you can see them up close. They’re so pretty! I can’t wait for you to see how they look in the updated dining room. Have a great day! 🤗
You definitely have inspired me this morning. I think the color is perfect for those rooms. And maybe in the spring put some white flowers in some of those baskets. So nice to see you and you were glowing today! Blessings to you.
Such an incredible find, especially those picnic baskets. Goes to show you, how things can look high end with some elbow grease and a good eye. Well done! 😍 .
Hi! Thanks! I’m so glad you love the new color. They turned out so pretty! I just posted a few photos of them so you can see them too. I can’t wait for you to see how they look in the dining room makeover! Have a great day!
Wow, I love your new basket finds! They're really awesome ... and you got great deals on them. I love the darker stain! Great job on refreshing them ~ it takes them to another level, and now they look VERY expensive! 👏👏👏
I love the texture a basket brings to a room. I have to say i have painted baskets, but the stain effect is so beautiful. Much more natural looking than a solid paint. Beautifully done! I plan on doing this in the future. Thanks for the inspiration.
Love how the stained baskets came out. You mentioned white washing over the stain...I think I would use white wax. That might achieve what you're looking for and seal them as as well. TFS! Cheers from Denver CO!
I have a lot of baskets too, I just love them. They add simple beauty to any room. They turned out gorgeous, I love dark walnut. We re-did all the wood in our old house in that color. It was so worth it, it instantly warmed everything up. I didn't realize just how much I'd miss it. Can't wait to see the refresh!
Hi Jenn, love how the baskets turned out. You and I collect so many of the same things. Love your style and styling of your finds. Thanks for sharing with us. Have a wonderful day. 🙏❤️❄️
Hi Judy! Thanks my friend! These are beautiful baskets I couldn’t pass up and I love how they look now stained. I can’t wait for you to see how they look in the dining room refresh!
Even though I am seventy two, your tastes and mine are so much alike love watching you. Now I know what to do with some of my baskets that I love but now the color.
Hi Jenn!!I love the dark brown basket you found and how you change the color on the others!!I think they look so much prettier dark!!Enjoy!!p.s. Your hair looks beautuful!!😁❤👍
"You learn something new every day!".... Thanks for sharing this approach to changing the color on baskets!!! I often passed up one because it just wasn't the right shade for the area I wanted to display it in. Always love to see your ideas.....plus love to see your hair styling 😍 ❤😊
Hi! Thank you! I’m so happy you enjoyed this! I just posted a few photos of the baskets on my channel too so you can see them up close. I can’t wait for you to see how they look in the dining room makeover!🤗
I make handmade baskets as a hobby, using regular wood stains makes baskets brittle, it would be better if you used a stain made especially for baskets such as Weaver's stain in walnut, but you could also make a homemade stain by using vegetable waters, or even tea and coffee. Just some suggestions for the future. They look nice but if you actually want to use them regularly as functioning baskets, I'd use a natural stain.
Hi! Thanks for those helpful tips! It’s funny you mentioned the Weavers stain in walnut. It’s such a pretty stain. I was inpatient to do these and I wanted to do the dark walnut for the dining room but I am going to get a can of the Weavers to try on other baskets.
@@MotherThyme I understand being inpatient when it comes to projects! just another tip to add here on the Weaver's stain...at first it will look lighter than you'd like but let it dry in between coats then re-spray as desired until it's the shade you want. I ended up using 3 coats on one of my larger baskets to get it a darker walnut shade. Hope it works well for you! :)
One of the first things to do before painting or refreshing is to simply rinse the baskets fully with water. You can easily do this in the shower or outside with the hose. You will see the inevitable excess grime and dust go down the drain. Then leave them to dry fully in the sun. This will instantly lighten most baskets, and also open wood fibers to allow for staining, and re-moisturizing.
Hi Jenn! They look so pretty now! Great job! I have a long dining table stained in tobacco and black, I love it! That color would go beautifully with you table as well!! I also love your hutch, where can I find one? Looking forward to next video!!
Do you soak and wash them. I put them in the tub with Luke warm water and blue dawn dish soap then with a very sift brush I wash the dirt out. Let them dry then I stain them as well great job.
Hi! Thanks! I’m so happy you love them! I just posted some photos of them on my channel too. I didn’t seal these but you could spray them with a sealer. Have a great day!🤗
The baskets turned out beautifully!
Your husband did a good job helping you. I’m not sure my husband would do so good. I love how the baskets turned out. So pretty.
I love your hair with the grey!! Stunning and brings out your gorgeous eyes!! 🙌.

That’s a great tip! I just clean mine with baby wipes since I’m impatient letting them dry. lol!
Looove how beautiful the baskets turned out! I will absolutely try this out! What about using burnt umber apple barrel paint watered down a little???
❤ I stained a few of my Longaberger baskets and I love them!
I love that you’ve stained some too! Did you do a dark color like these?
@ yes minwax dark walnut
Hi Jenn! They look so pretty now! Great job! I have a long dining table stained in tobacco and black, I love it! That color would go beautifully with you table as well!! I also love your hutch, where can I find one? Looking forward to next video!!

That’s a great idea. I usually just go over them with a baby wipe to clean them off.
I thought the baskets looked pretty as is but I do like the darker stain too.
Thanks! You can never go wrong with the dark walnut stain.
Love the new look of the baskets!!! I now have another project! Do you put some sort of sealer on top of the stain?
Hi! Thanks! I’m so happy you love them! I just posted some photos of them on my channel too. I didn’t seal these but you could spray them with a sealer. Have a great day!🤗
I bought couple lovely old baskets put on top my dresser went to put dried flowers in them ….. no chance both hijacked as cat baskets!!
Awww! How cute! I bet they love them!
On a side note, are you going natural gray? It looks so beautiful on you!!!
I saw a basket that was restained on Pinterest. It was beautiful in a medium green stain. Like you I am not a fan of the orangey stain.
That one sounds beautiful! I love staining them to give them a fresh new look.
Did you clean the baskets first?
Hi! I lightly wipe them down. I like to use baby wipes. 😉
I think I would have tried a dark wax so the color wouldn't have been so dark and solid.
Hi! I actually shared some photos in my feed. They’re dark but not as dark as they looked in the video. 😉
Yep. 🙄🤭
liquid gold will refresh a basket if you want to keep the color but its too aged.
Thanks for the great tip!
❤️👍🏻👌🏻🧺
Seems a little dark…?
I posted some pictures in my feed. It’s lighter than it showed in the video. 😉
Beautiful but you should have wore gloves, love them!
Hi! I forgot to put them on at first but I did put them on when I started the picnic basket. 😉
