How blessed I was when you popped up last week as a suggested video to watch. Your home is warm, loving and a happy domain that we in America have seemed to have lost somewhere along the journey we are living. So sad for the children and their children, not ever knowing the charm life has to offer. You have curated your home thru time, which of course requires patience that many do not have, let alone understand that you have invested a near life time to own all that you have acquired. I know God provides, Lord knows I know for I pay deeply in storage fees to hold my lovelies. I am 66 and I too have seem to have lost my way as to why even bother to display my gifts that my two special dads, who are there to watch over me and guide me, gave to me because they love and cherish me as they do all the millions of other children they deeply care for and love. Deena, I love everything you did here in this video today. I'm a big fan of the silver pieces (bright or tarnished) I have PLENTY of candles but I don't burn them, may start. I also have a large candle warmer that I love. Decorating is a lot of hard work but so worth it, it's my passion. I have a large collection of roosters from my late mother and I love them. My husband passed away in august after a 10 year struggle from a post surgery stroke. We had 54 fun years together. So beautiful! I absolutely love what you have done! All of layers and textures you've combine with the wicker, books, candles, and vintage silver pieces come together so beautifully. I also love all of the black and pops of color with the moss and greens. Thanks for the great tutorial! You mentioned painting the hen with baking soda and paint, adding moss and then sealing. Do you happen to have a tutorial for that piece or something similar? I have a ceramic bunny that I bought and it has that same look to it. I would love to create that look on a few other pieces. Warm, elegant and welcoming! I like the roll of twine. I needed a chunky candle for one of my chunky wood candle stands and my cooking twine was perfect instead of buying a candle! I’ve had the twine so long it’s aged from white to a lovely creamy color. I always gain inspiration from your videos!❤

So lovely Deena! The colors, the candlesticks, wicker all flow together. I often struggle after Christmas too but surprisingly I started and my husband who was lounging nearby gave a couple of suggestions and voila the room came together. In fact we agreed its one of the nicest displays I have done. So we all have our moments where are creative juices wane but it's amazing the beauty we can create out of that creative drought . Hi Deena, I was just thinking while rewatching this video., I like watching your decorating whether you use new pieces or not. The way you shop your house and reuse things in different places and in different ways is sufficient, it always turns out really nice. For me, I think it's because I like your "theme." Going out and buying new stuff all the time gets to be too expensive, and a lot of times, it's hard to find this specific type of "theme(the antiques). As always, it turned out really nice, and as soon as I get to the store, im gonna make those pears.

Sweet Deena, you do such a spectacular job on your home decor. I love that you use mostly things you already have. You have an eye for unique pieces and use them in very creative ways. I think you could make a cozy home out of any place you would live. It is crazy cold here in South Texas with snow all over the ground. That is very rare. All schools have been closed for a couple of days. My daughter Rebecca and my granddaughter Rachel both work for our local college and they have been off for six days now. They are happy for the unexpected holiday but I’m ready for it to warm up a little bit. Thank you for another great video. I think you said recently that you were cooking that much lately. I will definitely try. If it’s the one on the counter near the sink. I used a couple different shades of greens mixed in with baking soda. I don’t ever measure. I just make a thicker paste of it. since you like candles as I do, I have a qstn. do you notice issues with soot after burning them through the season? I had a winter that I burned often. I noticed dark marbling looking marks on wall near ceiling and mostly on some vertical blinds I have on door wall and large window. I had to take each blade off and clean on floor. It would NOT wipe off. I have been switching over to battery ones but do like occasional real ones. Oh and yes I have used the "soy" cleaner burning ones and I get the same issue. New to your channel. thanks
Good morning, You know, I have in years past and now I try to be very careful as to where I place them for use and I always cut my wicks back. That in itself is a game changer. That will stop your candles from smoking and then causing that soot. I try to make sure they aren’t too close to a wall or any type of cover in order to avoid that. Or I am sure not to leave them too long. I do set a timer if I have something lit that shouldn’t be for long so I don’t forget. I too have considered the battery operated. I just wish they were. Little nicer looking. I love the look of real candles. But, I probably need to make the switch. I would say it might be your wicks are too long but you might be cutting them so I’m really not sure. How blessed I was when you popped up last week as a suggested video to watch. Your home is warm, loving and a happy domain that we in America have seemed to have lost somewhere along the journey we are living. So sad for the children and their children, not ever knowing the charm life has to offer. You have curated your home thru time, which of course requires patience that many do not have, let alone understand that you have invested a near life time to own all that you have acquired. My husband passed away in august after a 10 year struggle from a post surgery stroke. We had 54 fun years together. Great video and everything turned out so beautifully. I have 5 of those candle sticks from Hobby Lobby and they are very heavy but are just so unique!! I like how you added other gold candle sticks with them on the dining room table. I would like to try covering some of the pears. Where did you purchase the pears and paper you used to cover them? Warm, elegant and welcoming! I like the roll of twine. I needed a chunky candle for one of my chunky wood candle stands and my cooking twine was perfect instead of buying a candle! I’ve had the twine so long it’s aged from white to a lovely creamy color. I always gain inspiration from your videos!❤

I often struggle after Christmas too but surprisingly I started and my husband who was lounging nearby gave a couple of suggestions and voila the room came together. In fact we agreed its one of the nicest displays I have done.
So we all have our moments where are creative juices wane but it's amazing the beauty we can create out of that creative drought .

Hi Deena, I was just thinking while rewatching this video., I like watching your decorating whether you use new pieces or not. The way you shop your house and reuse things in different places and in different ways is sufficient, it always turns out really nice. For me, I think it's because I like your "theme." Going out and buying new stuff all the time gets to be too expensive, and a lot of times, it's hard to find this specific type of "theme(the antiques). As always, it turned out really nice, and as soon as I get to the store, im gonna make those pears.

Sweet Deena, you do such a spectacular job on your home decor. I love that you use mostly things you already have. You have an eye for unique pieces and use them in very creative ways. I think you could make a cozy home out of any place you would live. It is crazy cold here in South Texas with snow all over the ground. That is very rare. All schools have been closed for a couple of days. My daughter Rebecca and my granddaughter Rachel both work for our local college and they have been off for six days now. They are happy for the unexpected holiday but I’m ready for it to warm up a little bit. Thank you for another great video. I think you said recently that you were cooking that much lately. I will definitely try. If it’s the one on the counter near the sink. I used a couple different shades of greens mixed in with baking soda. I don’t ever measure. I just make a thicker paste of it. since you like candles as I do, I have a qstn. do you notice issues with soot after burning them through the season? I had a winter that I burned often. I noticed dark marbling looking marks on wall near ceiling and mostly on some vertical blinds I have on door wall and large window. I had to take each blade off and clean on floor. It would NOT wipe off. I have been switching over to battery ones but do like occasional real ones. Oh and yes I have used the "soy" cleaner burning ones and I get the same issue. New to your channel. thanks

You know, I have in years past and now I try to be very careful as to where I place them for use and I always cut my wicks back. That in itself is a game changer. That will stop your candles from smoking and then causing that soot.
I try to make sure they aren’t too close to a wall or any type of cover in order to avoid that. Or I am sure not to leave them too long. I do set a timer if I have something lit that shouldn’t be for long so I don’t forget. I too have considered the battery operated. I just wish they were. Little nicer looking. I love the look of real candles. But, I probably need to make the switch. I would say it might be your wicks are too long but you might be cutting them so I’m really not sure. I’m so sorry.
