Nice job Scheib. You were confusing the hell out of me at first. But I caught on as you did it. I learn better doing things. Better than someone just telling me. lol cheers 🍻 brother.
I hope Ruggedmade is oaying attention, they have a couple splitters on youtube that have basic mods on them that everyone wants, yet crickets from the company. log lift, worktable, auto cycle, adjustable wedge, additional foot stabilizer for weight, removeable / reversible tow hitch.. would be a perfect splitter
We are definitely paying attention Kenny! This channel, along with a few others, is one of our favorite channels (along with the comment sections) to keep up with and get insight for our machines from the people that put them to the test. We do have log lifts and worktables available on our site and are working to create even better machines for the future.
I have a rugged made splitter also and want to put on a autocycle,on your next vodeo can you show where all the lines go my ram valve is the first one where you put the autocycle, but im not quite sure where all the lines go,thanks
The A and D ports will be Tied together at the Rod end of the cylinder with a Tee the B port just goes to the clevis or welded end. Then your power beyond if you get one would tie into the other valves but then you will need a return for the autocycle valve itself which would be tied in with your main return with a tee or get a sae16 plug for the power beyond port and tie the return into the other valves like I basically did. if you don't get the power beyond you just tie the valves together like normal.
Great video Schieb . Don’t see a video on this type of upgrade to a splitter often. Keep up the great content. Brad your neighbour to the north 🍻 👌🏻🔥🇨🇦
Surplus center for the valve Amazon for the tee and any hydraulic shop should be able to get you a hose made but I got mine from discounthydraulichose.com
What kind of valve would you use to make the cycles continuous? Like as in i move lever to on and the cylinder will extend until a certain pressure is made then it returns and the cycle repeats
so what all is needed to convert a brand new rugged made to autocycle. do i just need the valve or more hoses as well. i see alot of these videos but im still not sure.
@@OutsidewithScheib I am also a little uncertain. I ordered my 700 series and it should be here any day. I already received the prince autocycle valve just waiting to install when splitter arrives. I got the one with power beyond not really knowing if I would ever use it. Can I use the existing hoses as long as I get that plug or do I have to get the extra hose and T and all that also. I am confused

My ruggedmade 37 ton bogs a lot when I use my log lift. I think it has something inline to control the speed of the lift. What kind of handle knobs are you going to put on the new valve handles ???
The problem with the log lift is the holes in the ports are 1/4 inch and they have 1/2 inch lines going to it it’s a lot of restriction. Not sure yet I’ll have to look
We've been looking at getting one of these splitters and this and the adjustable wedge is first thing I want to add if we go this route. Is this a 24" or 30" version splitter?
Andy when I bought this machine I had intentions of putting an adjustable wedge on it, all the other stuff just fell into place as I seen to make it better for my application. Doing the adjustable wedge saved me at the time 3k from a Wolfe ridge. The log lift from factory could be put on either side. The rear tow point is necessary. Cost was nothing. The new landing gear or support leg is a much better design and was needed in conjunction with rear tow just to be able to put a trailer jack on. The auto cycle with all parts needed was roughly 600 bucks . So I would say it isn't homer built just a Frankenstein machine with ideas from other splitter designs.
@@OutsidewithScheib my comment wasn't meant to put your splitter down.thr fact that for a few bucks and hard work you were able to make a splitter comparable to a Wolfe ridge is more of my point. It started as a rugged made and has evolved

i am the same way lol
I like that splitter, it's pretty fast on the hydraulics. Must have a big pump and the auto cycle is a great upgrade. Good job. Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦

Nice upgrade! I love the auto return on my splitter.
thanks harry I am liking it so far
That was pretty simple! Definitely going to be a game changer!! Stay safe my friend
No doubt!
Hi Scheib, awesome upgrade, will make splitting much easier and enjoyable
Git’n ‘r done Scheib! Nice work 👍🏼
Your going to like that. It definitely a time saver there be some nasty stuff that you have to hold the lever. Nice work. 👍🏻
Thanks 👍
That is a nice pile of straight grained ash. John from Wilmington, DE.
Great addition to your machine!! Should help with your splitting time. Have a Safe Day
Thanks, you too!
You are teaching me now, Scheib! Thanks for the video.
My pleasure!
Keep going. You'll have an eastonmade style splitter
Sweet upgrade Scheib!🍻🤘👍
Now you got to put the beer tap handles back on 💪🏽🇺🇸🍻
Working on it!
Glad to see that it worked out. It will definitely be a time saver.
I think so too!
Looks like once your use to it you'll be speeding up wood production. It's like having a new toy 😆.
Pretty much!
