It was great meeting you on trail 2-3 miles north of Neel Gap on day 3. You have inspired many to get out there on the many scenic trails we are blessed to have access to. I am glad you are showing that hiking and backpacking does not have to be expensive. Hike on Quadzilla !!
Great to meet ya
Once again, I am procrastinating watching thru-hiking videos. Your videos are offering a welcome escape from the challenges of home improvement. I need to finish my projects do I can get outside!
Goodluck with your projects and procrastination lol
I was curious how you only had a dozen views in 9 hours. It looks like his video is set to Unlisted instead of Public. I only found it through the playlist, but it didn't show up on your channel naturally. Keep going man! I wish I was there with you.
Landed in my feed 👍Seems to be working now
Thru hiking and Black-eyed Peas.
When I hiked the P.C.T. The Black-eyed Peas were making a video at Vasquez Rocks. The year was 2000. I never heard of them.
If you'd like to know, the orange blossoms from 1:00 are azaleas, and the pink ones starting at 1:05 are laurels. :)
Good to know thanks
Dammit I was only gonna watch 4 thru hikers this year, then you go and try it for 1k$
Me too! Have you been following Rissa Roams?
@@aerynrowe5574 no, I'm watching Sunny,Jess hikes trails, molly rose outdoors, and jaru walks,
@@aerynrowe5574I've been following her for a while,.. I think she's got what it takes to make it.
Right
We have a saying in the horse business, "No feet, no horse." Take care of those tootsies. You've rocked the thrifty gear, but those cheap shoes might do you wrong. Your attitude is great considering the pain you are in.
The hiker box hot sauce is a nice touch! I’ve got to try the pb-honey-pop tart tortilla!
Nothing but respect. Keep up the good work!!
I am so glad that i found you again, I followed you on your though hike a couple of years ago. Thank you for sharing your hike with me. I always wanted to hike AT but time has slipped away and I find myself 73 years old. But you are hiking for all of us who wished that we too were able to join you. Stay safe and keep on hiking.
Glad I can take you with me
Mountain Crossing patio pizza is a rite of passage
The “Cus It is still pain, but I’m not suffering”. Kinda mindset 🤟
Love your mindset. Happy hiking!
bro you got the mind set. Thanks for sharing. keep on keeping on. Such inspiration i recieve from you.
Wishing you all the best and VERY eagerly awaiting your gear reviews, especially that backpack!!
Enjoying.. following..much respect for your mental ability to keep going with something hurting... Anxious to see how the tent holds out. I know it's good for the first 400.. my daughter has one.. Safe trails and lots of nice blessings
I hiked this section a couple years ago. Pretty cool to see it again on video!
AT again get after it QUADZZZZ
Sucks Zen won't be there when you get to Franklin. He was a unique character.
Loved the lean into the pain mindset. Such a great opportunity to see how our mind tries to create the stories when confronted with what most people consider "bad things." Well done! 🤘🕓
He basically kidnapped me from the trail in 22 lmao. What a character.
Pain meditation is a new one for me. Interesting thoughts to keep relaxed or make it worse. Also, I like the Yellow Bird Habanero as a sweet/spicy sauce. How's the Serrano version?
Delicious
Peanut butter, honey, and raisins might be good too. Pain is usually a warning. I was a quadraplegic on a ventilator in Walter Reed for a while. Self Hypnosis was my only escape from the pain. It was basically day dreaming. I suspect your meditation is the same thing. I occassionally get bad foot pain. The VA takes care of it each time. I have to wear combat boots with pungi plates for the best foot comfort. Maybe you need better shoes. Life is too short to accept pain. Good Luck, Rick
Stay safe and take care Jack 👊🏻👍🏻 Thank you my friend 🙏🏻 God Bless 🫶🏻 Appreciate you!
Awesome videos, doing the same kind of mental journey and planing on a thrue-hike on a tight budget in north of Sweden for 37 days. Love all the tips ❤
How much bigger than your feet should the shoes be? Say you got 27cm feet.
Best of luck on the trail 🤙
Loving the content man, all the way from the UK! I get your mindset on many levels, so keep on going 👍🏼 Have to ask though, I’m loving the floral shorts.. Are they Thai shorts? 👊🏻
Thanks 🙏
I enjoy your videos but I have a hard time hearing what's said over the music. Maybe it's just me?
Can't wait for the next one!
Ever tried moleskin or luck tape for blisters?
Moleskin at the first sign of discomfort has served me for over 40 years. A search and rescue Vietnam medic taught me about moleskin ❤️
The one thing to not skimp on is foot wear :)
For myself it's the hike and not the designation that matters. Might be one reason I am so slow and take life easy. If I wanted to rush , hurry and be speedy I would stay on hard pavement and in town. Two benefits of being retired and over the hill , age wise. LOL.
👍🐿👍 hiker box treasures
Hang on to that hot sauce bottle. I refilled a similar one from hot springs to Maine.
Good idea
are the la sportivas your normal shoes of choice or are they budget?
What size pack do you wear?
*meow* 🐌😂 Glad the pad is working well for you but, ugh!, about the shoe sitch. Of course, you're handling it like a pro.
You found Gary!
Meow
Honestly you could probably start with grocery bags and find gear along the journey
That's funny
that whole area looks so different from early march...lol
Does you backpack have a retention system for your sleep pad against the back panel?
Yep they built a pocket for it
@@QuadzillaHikes oh cool!
What app about the AT do you recommend to use while on the AT?
Farout
I wish there was a way to see how many hikers you pass up that started a month before you
Maybe 2 dozen do far
GARY THE SNAIL!!!!!!!!
Do you get to eat fruit and vegetables at any time?
If I find em on the ground!
What shoes are you wearing?
LA Sportiva
@@QuadzillaHikes ohhhh, I thought you went with one of the super cheap shoes😆
1,000 for what equipment, food &shelter
Equipment list is in description, 1000 for food
I live this guy. Everyone else's camera angel... Face. This guys? Thighs!
Tried to hand you a bottle of soy sauce lol
Bro can you stop the music when your torquing there’s to much going on.🙏🏻
👣💕 ARE YOU PLANNING ON USING THE SAME SHOES FOR 2200 MILES???
Nah 2 or 3 pairs
I don’t have the hiking aerobics you grr see t but still, I would not eat junk food, you may get diabetes 2.
