I turned an UMBRELLA into a SWORD

- Where did I get this idea? Don't even ask me, I can't remember. Well, if you ever get the urge to take apart your umbrella to transform it into a sword, here's the tutorial for you! (Now honestly, if you actually do this PLEASE be careful. The spring in the middle has a lot of force and WILL snap open no matter if the umbrella is flexed or not)

Fun little backstory/lore/headcanon for the sword
It was made by a novice artificer as a proposal for the king so that his scouts could have a weapon ready at a moment's notice that also wouldn't take up much space; however, due to how the mechanism was set up, a direct jab would cause the blade to retract back to the hilt, the artificer was determined to make the weapon work as he believed that if his father a scout for the king had one he would have returned home that faithful night. So the artificer journeys the land looking to find a way to fix the flaw. He happens upon a skilled wizard who tells of a spell that allows a user to bond to their weapon, allowing them to control aspects of it. The problem is that this spell requires the hide/scales of a darkened bronze dragon, which, while they aren't very dangerous, are rare due to how old a bronze dragon must be before it transforms, so the artificer sets out after many moons defending himself with only his blade the artificer finds his target after a long battle the dragon falls the artificer follows the wizard's instructions and bonds to the blade soon after he returns to the king showing that he has fixed the weakness of the blade. Still, the king said that through the artificer's journey, the blade's weakness never hindered him, and by finding the solution to his problem, he showed how the problem was less of an issue than he had thought ultimately, though the blade was distributed. The king knew that the artificer would be a genius trying to find solutions to any problem. As for the original sword, it now lies with a vase of flowers on the father's grave.
I'm not the best storyteller, but I couldn't help myself.
“I’m not the best storyteller” *causally creates entire backstory out of nowhere*
I LOVE THIS OMG
Me too, i would love to make a DND character off of this
"I'm not the best storyteller" *proceeds to cook the most gourmet story in all of history*
U fuking shakespeare, lol
BTW great story buddy
I’m not reading all that
I do love this genre of art UA-camrs who have cool ideas, but zero plans on how to make said idea, and just wing it.
There's others?!
@@HouseGecko Yeah!
That's what makes it more fun.
Me every time I make a Halloween costume.
Hello let me introduce to someone who likes making teeny tiny nerdy things
You know it's bad luck to open an umbrella indoors right? And you opened it *count's on fingers*, many many times
Uh oh-
Lmao goofy ahh belief
About 10 times if I counted right (including umbrella, naked umbrella, and sword
It's bad luck to be superstitious
This is far more entertaining than it has any right to be. Subscribed.
organize an illegal fight club with swords and daggers you've made
If that was made from sheet steel it would be epic.
Agreed, I wish I knew how to work with steel
I would so do that
The basic girlie i am was wondering if tin foil would work
you should partner with hacksmith for a bigger and stronger design👍
still the best stuff I've seen all month
This is the prototype, right? You are going to make a metal one to sell on the market, RIGHT???
That'll be sick
@@riaj1124 Compromises the integrity, too bulky even if you make the blade compact, and simply overengineered. And... all kinds of folding blades exist. The butterfly, the absurdly illeral gravity folding knife, a real lot of designs, they all allow for a double edged blade. Yes, conventional folding knives don't. Other designs sometimes compromise safety. But why. Why would you need THAT if you have all the other options?..
@@riaj1124 Post scriptum:
I know that's a joke, still really stupid.
I’m a fairly scientifically minded person, the sheer amount of scuffed nonsense which happens in this video greatly concerns me
Top tier work I love it
ITS ONLY 3:30AM DON'T TELL ME WHAT TO... oh yeah... I should deffo go to bed... thanks for the reminder....
thats sooo cool :0
also why are umbrellas without the top stuff so scary-
Feels forbidden to see it without the fabric 🕷️
Lol they look like medieval torture devices
Am I the only one? Or I think she is dazzling so bad while making the sword it has spark!!! Omg!!!
I love how this doesn’t start with “I 3D printed this small piece”
I am your new subscriber ❤
After watching this video
You deserve more but still
Hats off to your hardwork
you need a 3D printer
That was the first thing that come to my mind xD
Yeah I really do, would’ve made the whole thing a lot more stable
@@aquarinearts id say go for it. it would be a good investment. not just stability, u will be more excited to get creative with a tool like this
Definitely! That’s a future goal for when I actually have the budget for it
@@aquarinearts there are places where you can get really good deals on refurbished 3d printers. Depending on the style you are looking for you can sometimes get them 60% off
You bring me back to my childhood when i was used to make a lot of stuff with cardboard and tape i love it new sub!
I thought this was a larger channel at first, so seeing 5.5k subs was a jumpscare. Good quality, and definitely worth a like and sub
0:20 why do i feel my intestine petrifying
That's certainly a sentence
One-day, you are going to work with Nerdforge, just some kinda prediction
what a really cool concept!!
Really cool! Now I wanna make one. I just need to sacrifice an umbrella...
I have some ideas for how to keep the tip from getting loose and also make the locking mechanism easier, if you want to revisit the project.
Before disassembly, the folded-in 'spiderlegs' of the umbrella connected the top piece and the locking piece rigidly, both pushing and pulling. The added wire can only pull. You could use two of the spiderlegs as spacers between the to bits. They would make the top bit and and locking bit move as one solid unit. That way it should lock simply by being pushed together and you get more area to which to attach the top piece of the sword.
is it just me or just hearing her calming yet ear-catching attention voice and some art-based ideas makes me wanna see and hear more
forget it I'm just gonna subscribe
This was the first time a short convinced me to watch the longer video!
Too many sussy innuendos LOL
As a brazilian, the idea of 10C in the summer disturbs me
This is such a fun and cool project. What a great imagination you have. You remind me of NerdForge :)
Idk if anyone asked this yet but the cloth of the umbrella can be like the cloak 👍
That looks so cool!
come to think of it, i realised today that my umbrella was broken... i am _totally_ keeping it to use as parts for some kinda craft project down the line ;D
Why does this remind me of riptide
Ohh wait, the video was about "watching you turning an umbrella into a sword" not "watching 'YOU' turning an umbrella into a sword" I guess I need to rewatch it!
7:55 "Obligatory bane joke
girl you remind me of björk taking about her television
Make sword that functions as an umbrella
You give major NerdForge vibes lol. Love your creativity and skill, you have really cool, unique ideas!
Awesome
Maybe 3d print the tip or put something to cush the impact
You just give a new idea to make swords for cosplayers 😂
Probs the fastest I've subscribed to someone ❤ this is amazing 👏
Slightly unhinged person making things I wish I could? Sign me up
I’m watching this instead of working on homework and projects
This was really fun to watch! Lol this was randomly recommended to me but I found it really interesting. I bet this would make it easier for cosplayers to pack for trips and stuff too!
For me I think the journey was guy who cleans storm drains, guy who mows overgrown lawns for free, building inspector for poorly constructed mass housing and then here..
@@jerseyjoyride1316 oh I've seen the overgrown lawns but not the others, is the building inspector interesting?
@@ahsrav0 Pretty scary actually. He finds support beams that are cracked and a shocking amount of things you'd expect in a 20 year old house.
He even gets threatened by the builders for exposing their shoddy work.
Cy Porter is the name of the guy for the channel CyFy that I'm watching.
This was very cool to see! If you're going to make more swords, please make a Zwiehander (greatsword). Of course, this is just a suggestion and you can make it with anything
this is sick!
the sword is so absolutely insane and overall just looks very gorgeous!
i really love the swirly ornamentation on the blade.........
overall, really well done!
Woah, I am surprised that I am here before a million views. The sword looks awesome. Keep making such videos please.
I’m loving this videos …. I wish more people could see it!! ❤
You're super cool and I love your mushroom sweater.
I’m going to be using this to make a fake grappling hook for Halloween!
This is so cool, I wanna make one too now.
I think if you make the tip of the cardboard inner piece longer and fill that extra space with an expanding foam and put in the umbrella bit before it dries it should extend its life a bit without too much change.
Thanks, now everything on my house are breakable and fall apart
that looks like a really fun project. i have an old umbrella, maybe i should do something with it like this.
regarding the glasses thing, i got lasik this year and it was legitimately one of the best decisions of my life. if you qualify for it, then i highly recommend it, provided that there is center near you. i got tested for it and had the surgery all in one day, the operation was like five minutes and i could see the better instantly and was up and driving around the next day.
"Umbrellas are scary."
Me, after rewatching Another: "Yes, it always been."

Zamn this girl has potancial maybe a worthy rival for nerdforge
I'm so happy that the umbrella SWORD got so many views, i just subscribed thinking it was already a big channel, and now i can see an amazing artist AND be here as the channel grow 🎉
Keep making your thing we will be cheering for you 🤝🏻✨️💕
Greetings from the sourthen country in the world jsjsj
This channel is so underrated
I deeply respect having this idea and going for it... With less than ideal materials 😅
Good job.
I think i just found My wife
i just discovered abt ur account and yes you are the love of my life now
If you need more enduring material i can recommend balsa modeling strips
Comment and like for keeping up the algorithm! Good luck
I feel like a full umbrella could make a sick satellite for some sort of large scale so fi piece
I Love the mushroom sweater, Where can I get it?
I got it at Walmart back when I visited the US
Thanks :)
this honestly looks epic. (if i could somehow manage this i would do it)
Do an expandable shield now! When i was a kid i pretended they were shields 😂
How much money for one of these
Naked eyes!! How indecent
a dwarven masterpiece indeed
You are onto something tgat sword came out beautifully, loving the umbrella core
I also made one (tried)
Put a wide plastic cap on the inside of the tip (like maybe even a litteral cap to a large container or something)
"Its probably gonna break in no time" *breaks less than a minute later*
Now do someting with an normal umbrella ( unfolding one)
I LOVE IT!!! Nie I'm looking forward to use this as a guide for making my own
why tf do i feel it look like a valorant sword-
Lol true
I NEED this ☺☺
I am just curious and want to know how old are you? My girl friend was 30 and I was 23 and I was thinking she is 21 so i cant understand a girl’s age. Nice video btw maybe an umbrella shotgun weapon video can be good too. like Navia’s weapon in genshin impact.
This looks like a The Legend of Zelda sword and I'm all for it, this actually kinda convinced me to do blacksmithing when I get older, and more privileged
Madam you say nothing to do this at home but I am going to do this at home now but with a larger umbrella
I would love to see this but with something like PVC piping instead of cardboard. I would have never thought to use an umbrella like that and it’s amazing.
How did bro know i was watching this past 2 am 💀
Good job on your sword build. Glad that you are making this channel showing off creative craft contents.
Hope your channel will grow up to be another big one!
Small tip for painting cardboard (and a few other water/paint soaking materials) . Try diluting some pva glue with water 50-50 or so, and either brush or spray (any el cheapo squirty bottle should do) a light thin coat on top of it. You don't want to soak the cardboard, so if you need more it is best to do two-three thin coats than go in heavy and overdo it. This will be both a primer and a sealant for the cardboad once it is dry.
wowowowowow love it
God I love this type of content
Oh I’d be occupied with this for 5 days if you handed me this
mom can we have odin makes at home?
we have odin makes at home

XD youre fun to watch, i like the design idea for that sword, would love to see it fully come back as a sturdy awesome portable buster sword or a dragon slyaer for kids type XD
Wow I didn't expect to see such awesome video
Thank you 😊
Man i was captured by the boom sword short. But i didn't expect to sit through the whole video. Your editing is top notch. ☺️
Glad the algorithm gods recommended me your channel
very cool stuff
looking forward to seeing your content :>
Oh no the end 😭, really sick concept though, super creative
Just found your channel, such a nice.video, exited for more :3
The heat gun is camera shy
I love this woman's calm craziness 😂😂😂😂
Hunter's trick weapon
I think you could make a retractable lightsaber with that
I really like your idea of making it retractable, it’s sad the cardboard didn’t hold at the end 😢
