I started singing nov 2020, I am up to 100 or so songs that I practice, I practice 10-20 of those songs each day, if I need to rest, I speak the words. A few months ago I decided to get serious, and I found you, and you said stop imitating, perfect advice for someone that just decided to take singing serious, the exercises are great, your very entertaining, they just don't make them like you anymore. Thank You -----PS-- tonight was the first night I turned the volume down to be able to100 percent focus on what I sound like, I am trilled, I am not so afraid anymore and the power, the new tones, I am listening and wondering whos voice is this, and for the first time I broke out in a sweat.
@@Victoria-Victorious After nov I will become a member, I mean the improvements by just watching your videos are amazing. Oh and another break thru just today, but I will share soon. Thank you kind Lady.
This is what I’ve been missing! I feel like I’ve developed really bad habits for so many years! I can sing in pitch but I don’t always love how I sound. Resonance is the key I think. Ty so much for this great explanation ❤️
Exactly! I thought the same about this video. I love it when these types of videos are to the point and include demos just as she did it for further explaination.
So I make electronic music and use synthesizers. And the different tongue positions and lip shapes you are showing, it's like using different filters on a synth. This is really fun to experiment with, and makes me feel like I have control of my voice as an instrument, rather than what I normally do when recording vocals, which is to just do a take and try to feel the emotion and hope for the best...
This is golden knowledge! Been working on my resonance for a while. Trying to place it differently in my head mask area. Mouth and more I never knew how just changing your mouth shape could make such a difference! I can't wait to work on this already excited about it thank you so much for this wisdom you have and willingness to share it ❤
I just can't, your channel is such a hidden gem, you have so much valuable knowledge and you know how to explain everything very well. I have significantly improved my voice in just a few days with you I swear. My biggest problem was that I tend to sound like an "orphan" (hard to explain it differently xd) but when I manage to get that resonance my voice becomes so juicy and colorful 😊♥️ obviously I can't keep that resonance for a long time and I loose it here and there but now I finally know that something like that even exist and how to get it :) And you are so nice to watch, I mean, you are one of a kind and it's fascinating :) thank you so much! (I want to improve my singing because one girl asked me if I want to sing a in Church a little bit and I couldn't convince her that I cannot sing xD so here we are xd You are a blessing for me 😊)
Of course I cannot accurately advsie you without seeing and hearing you. Maybe you are needing a balance of lower resonance and upper resonance. Mainly upper resonance will make you sound bright and young. Maybe that is what you describe as an "orphan'. 😊
i watched a few of your older videos a long time ago- and i had left it at that so i could ‘walk my own ropes’ in terms of learning how to be creative and custom. please continue making these as this video was a synchronization for me. i dont know how many others have that same occurrence but i hope you continue impacting lives for the better. and to the people who are beginning- dont listen to others if they say ur bad at singing/etc etc. we are all bad until we learn to be good!
Thanks for sharing this word of support to those who are just beginning. Often times, we can feel defeated by the destructive words of others especially in an industry that is based around a vulnerable skill. We are all bad until we learn to be good! yes!
"You know how you love how you sound in the bathroom..." exactly! I didn't know why it was that my voice sounds weak unless I'm taking a shower, I thought it was just the moisture and echo and never thought about it further how I would achieve it outside the shower. Now I know what to practice!
@@Victoria-Victorious Thanks! Already been practicing my breath support today. I have a general issue of being a quiet speaker and straining my voice from coaching and sometimes singing. Any particular videos of yours you think might help with that? Looking forward to exploring them

I appreciate your tips!! So really amazing. I have a weird voice cause when I talk with people, sometimes, my voice becomes more little or more childish. I'm a shy person, so, to talk and to sing with people it's more hard to me. However, I love to study more about singing techniques and your channel help me learn more. Thanks again!😊
Thank you, thank you, thank you!! I’ve been taking in-person voice lessons on and off since high school-I’m in my thirties now. I’ve struggled with a nasal tone that I couldn’t figure out. Hello Ms. Victoria, I liked your videos, and I can learn lots of benefits. I want to buy Tenor Vocal Exercise Program, so I have questions about that. I am not sure that I am tenor or baritone. My old vocal coach said to me you are like high baritone. What should I buy? Thank you for your all energies, greetings from Turkey. ❤
Hello, Atakan! Each program covers 2 1/2 octaves in range. If unsure, you can always order the tenor program and if it’s too high, you have 30 days to switch to bass/baritone. If your former teacher said you are a high baritone, I’d probably start with tenor.
i REALLY LIKE YOUR VOCAL TECNIQUE I WISH I HAD THEM WHEN I WAS ON THE ROAD WITH MY SINGING GROUP. BACK THEN VOCAL LESSONS WERE FOR ONLY THE WELL TO DO. PEOPLE SAY 'TALENT IS NECSSARY'. THAT MAY BE TRUE. BUT MANY PEOPLE HAVE LEARNED CRAFTS VERY WELL BY CONSTANT STUDY. TELL ME IS THIS TRUE. OR NOT?
Yes, but you have to be very disciplined and record yourself in your practice. I teach my students to be their own "vocal detective" and practice smarter.
I'm struggling so much with a brassy/nasal/muffled kind of voice and cannot figure out the culprit. I'm thinking it's a combination of all of these wrong positions haha thank you!
Yes, all of that can be fixed! Pay attention to your tongue, as discussed in this video. See my PLAYLIST on Better Tone Quality in Singing! ua-cam.com/play/PLaWjWxiTysDDB0K_J9FKiiwSxcV65xjxh.html
Hi I have a question though, Because my voice teacher tells me to place my voice by feeling the vibrations in my face. What is your take about this? Is it fine if I don't feel the vibrations at all? Thanks! Nice video BTW!
People feel things differently. I would say just be open to the sensations. I have had students (male and female) who said they never felt a thing while singing in the beginning and then a year later, they tell me all the things they feel.
Hello! I have a question. If you answer in detail it would be highly appreciated. Why does professional singers sound so good even if they are not doing anything fancy. Like the first half of Arijit Singh's performance in gima awards 2017 is so simple but it is still mesmerizing even when he starts Janam Janam it sounds so good but when I do the same thing it's not even close.
I set a 10-minute timer and just kept on humming on a 5 note or full asccending scale as much as I could in one breath, repeatedly for 10 minutes. Then I felt pain on my soft palate and a bit on my throat. then when doing it again the next day I realized that I was tensing my tongue and soft palate when ascending in pitch. I let go of the tension and realized that not only could I still go up in pitch but that it was a whole lot easier. I think I was getting nervous and tensing everything up as a result. Teacher please tell me, is this correct?
Like i know u said mastering singing doesn't happen in a night but how long usually take for someone to become a good singer? Like months? Years? I was always curious about this one. 🙂💚
That is impossible to answer because every voice is different and has a different starting point. Plus, your progress will depend on the quality and quantity of your practice.
Hi, Starfish! In answer to your question, each program covers 2 1/2 octaves in range. If singers are not sure of their voice type, I recommend ordering alto/mezzo-soprano for women and bass/baritone for men, especially for beginners. That is for lower to medium voice types, so unless you consider your voice to be high, this should work. If not, you have 30 days to switch to the higher voice category.
Oh, heck no! Totally different things. See my playlist on Resonance. You can start with this video: Singing Resonance - EXPERIENCE THE MAGIC and COLORS IN YOUR VOICE! ua-cam.com/video/LH9Yo8-B0fg/v-deo.html
