- Valenta Carbon Thermik XXXL 5m rebuilt with R6014HS 14 channel rx and finished in new all white and black colours. Video shows the programming of all ten servo's running on independent channels including a two aileron, four flap wing with spoilers delivering an impressive butterfly.

Thanks Lozzie74! It definitely has nice lines and flies well. My only complaint is that I built it a little heavy but I'm not going to redo it as it would take a lot of work!

Hi Paul, All four flaps are bottom hinged. I'm using a Futaba 8FG (14 channel) with a 6014HS reciever. Totally agree about the stopping power! With the 14 channel setup I decided to stagger the middle flaps to lessen the aggressiveness of braking and maintain good roll. works well now. What I love about this plane is how smoothly it lands flapped only adjusting spoilers.

So nice! Heh, I can’t even get a 2.5mtr anything in my current car! So even one wing wouldn’t go in. I just bought a 3.1 met High Aspect from pp-RC modellbau. So it’ll have go get assembled at the field when I go to fly it. 👍🏻

Gorgeous sailplane, and love those spoilers! Did they come with the kit? QUESTION: Do you really need crow braking with those spoilers? In other words, as they not effective on the model like they are in their full-scale counterparts?
The first time you strip out a servo form aileron flutter descending vertically too fast you learn real quick the importance flaps and crow. I would welcome spoilers to assist as well.

This bird is amazing, it would be my next glider if it wasn't so damn expensive, Im not saying its not worth it but still... A Luky Termik from Reichard is the "budget option" for now, half the price but not half the plane. :)
Agree they are crazy money these days! I think a paid about GB£650...a long time ago!
Sqeela I live in the EU, so I could get one for about 700 of your pounds now. Prorly one of the best pod and boomers out there, very few that are better, like paritech bald eagle and condor but only coz they are bigger and at what price... Btw your setup is impressive, I would proly scratch half of that... :)
What radio are you using? My thermik is the revised edition of this one,the middle control surfaces are bottom hinged,along with the inner ones. Combined with the spoilers this thing actually stops in the air,then all that is required is some down elevator to park it where you want it!!

Lol theres a elvira 4.5m and it costs about £2000 but it might of been built for speed flying a 5m glider wont be as fast a 4.5 thats been built to withstand huge forces
