I found out that I had a small leak due to the incorrect installation of the engine air filter!! I didn’t know one of the corners was different and which way was faced up vs down. Good fyi to others!

thanks for the video. to be fair after you clear the codes, of course the check engine light is going to be off but that doesn't mean anything.

P0442 doesn't mean it's the valve it means there is a small leak in the system. In the video itself the rubber hoses clear as day have cracks in them.

Great video as a first step. It may not be 100% reliable test resulting in a false positive of ruling in or out whether a purge may works or nit despite electric test unless a compression test is done to verify there’s not small leak.

I think my code could be do to this! Do you think it’s due to the canister purge solenoid ? I don’t see any other cracked hoses. I got a new gas cap but that didn’t help.

@@tongo117 thank you, will try tomorrow because it got dark today. I have a strong feeling it is it because this error came up when it started freezing in Texas few weeks ago, maybe the solenoid broke due to weather

@@tongo117 Good morning again, I did the test and it clicked every time I connected to the battery, means it should be good, right? (I didn't remove the battery main connectors, car was not turned on, key removed, not sure if I had to remove them first as you did in the video, I think). I checked again the hoses, put some zip tie here and screws tight some screws in the big hose from the air filter compartment to the main unit, they where loose. Tuned it on and measured with ODB tool again and found 3 errors this time, not sure if they where present before: P0455, P0441 and P0456. In this moment I can't do anything more and I reset them, waiting again if they show up. Not sure if the test I did triggered somehow these new addition errors or not. Any idea?
