I hope they move that Weeping Angel on set from time to time just to mess with the hosts.
I think Nadia is bang on about Ruby. She's not a villain, she's just uncomfortably Gen Z. So far the impression I have of her is someone who is concerningly comfortable in the deep end. The magical and the frightening barely phases her and I think that's starting to get stretched in Boom, and it's going to snap next week when she's actually on her own in 73 Yards.
I didn't expect The 15th Doctor referencing 11th with Fish Fingers and Custard.
I bloody loved Matt smith era so that reference made 🥹🥹
@@ShabazSays Agreed, He's my favorite Doctor!!
It was a Moffat episode after all lol
“I’ve met sentient mud! Lovely girls!” Nice callback to “The Witchfindsrs.
I understood Ed did say: Every second of this episode is like a dead child to me. ......... He really has balls to say that.😂 The hologram Lady was best. Bring her on !!😂
Ed Night is a serious whovian, full of lore knowledge but delivering it in a respectful and digestible way. He should have the lead of the podcast tbh 😅
Just watched "Boom". Best episode yet by far. So well written. Brilliant performances. Great to see The Doctor back at being simply awesome.
I hope they bring Christel back
i really hope we get new presenters for the next series of the pdcast, these two just dont work
They gonna double down now.
I concur
Best episode of Doctor Who since he left. SO good. The difference in the show when Moffat writes is so obvious.
Finally we meet the Doctor.
I hope the genius of this episodes can hangover into the rest of the season. Ironically, it’s restored my ‘faith’ that the show isn’t totally dead yet.
Boom was best episode so far for me - a lot darker, liked the acting more too.
Apart from the dreadful child actor who was terrible
@@CyberSlammer2024yeah that was awful, and the writing & narrative was for a 5 year old not a 12 year old
We need christel dee back 😭😅
This was the first episode where I felt like they were not pandering anymore to the Disney Plus audience and just doing what they do best.
I loved this as a commentary on the milItary-industrial complex and the repeated use of "thoughts & prayers" was FANTASTIC!
Also, I think Ruby is the child of 'the one who waits' - just throwing that out there.
Brilliant episode.
And THAT surprise appearance makes me curious for the future. Is it the same character or will it be someone completely different? Only time will tell.
Could you maybe possibly one day get a guest that’s even tangentially related to the production of the show?
Ooh this is a brilliant idea! To be fair I’m hoping to get Russell, Ncuti or Millie but EVERYONE IS SO BUSY!
@@ShabazSays Ask Chris Eccleston (9th Doctor).
I'm sure he will be happy to say some nice things about the RTD and their work together ;)
@@inquerion8867 Better not to encourage Eccleston
@@inquerion8867 Ask him about Collinson in particular. :) :) :)
Ed Night is great, plz bring him back, or even better, make him host!
Bring back Juno and Christel!
Agreed. Nothing against the new podcast hosts but the original trio were so much better. They felt more like they knew what they were talking about, whereas with these new podcast hosts, they feel more like new viewers without the same prior knowledge of Doctor Who's past.
( 8:20 ) There’s always a *twist* at the end…
Bring back Christel Dee
I’m sure the voice at the end of the teaser for next week is Eve Myles from Torchwood I can’t wait to find out if I’m right.
And then she can introduce Ruby to Captain Jack Harkness at Torchwood.
This is a lot better than last weeks. Calmer, more intelligent, less frantic and hyper.
We were just very excited last week 😂 definitely into the nitty gritty of the show
All I can think of when I see the Doctor's clothes is the seal from Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples Saga
I'm pretty sure Ruby is the spirit of Christmas as the toy maker is the spirit of games or as Maestro is the spirit of music
Which one: Christmas Past, Present or Future? Or Jacob Marley?
@@CineScarborough so you're thinking that ruby story could inspired by jacob marley story ? i didn't read it tho
Interesting theory! Thanks for sharing!
If the podcast crew sees this...pleas try to talk over eachother LESS
Noted ❤
Isn’t “the war between the land and the sea” a rumored name for an upcoming spinoff 👀👀
I agree that Ruby isn't human. I think she is a Time Lord and my prediction is that she will regenerate into Varada Sethu in The Legend Of Ruby Sunday. However I hugely disagree with the notion that she is a villain.
The phrase about being dead but not gone reminds me of the Haunting of Bly Manor... a character would say that. Also I don´t see Ruby being a villain. I don´t know what RTD is planning for her to be but maybe someone from the future since she has no connection to anyone in the present where she lives with her foster mom. But we´ll see. Really liked this episode btw. I liked seeing The Doctor not being able to get out of a situation so fast and/or easily...
Terminology speaking, Carla is Ruby’s adoptive mum, not foster mum, they are different things, as was pointed out by Carla in The Church on Ruby Road. A foster parent is someone who takes care of a child for a limited amount of time, which could be days, weeks, months, or years, the main goal of fostering is temporary care. When a child is adopted, the adoptive parents become the child’s legal guardians for life. Ruby was at first fostered by Carla, but when Ruby’s birth parents were never found or came forward, Carla some time after that adopted Ruby.
Absolutely cannot wait for Next Week... 73 Yards!
Me too!
Hmmm, I think I'd prefer to watch 78 metres
It is.. WILDDDD 🤯🤯
@@ShabazSays Hey Shabaz!!! Great job with podcast
this episode is the best in a while, it was a rollercoster and got me on board with ncuti and ruby.
I'm hyped for Sian Phillips in the next episode!
I wish Juno Dawson was still doing this.... these hosts are not it lol
Yep they are shite
3:38 yh I was super paranoid about the Doctor the whole episode and was scared something was gonna happen like him dying and going to guardians of the Edge also rubies half death got me 😕
I saw someone ask if we forgot the mavity gloves on the TARDIS and can't belive i didn't think of that lol.
He forgot ALL his gadgets - no sonic to defuse the mine, no psychic paper to tell the soldiers - or ambulance - that he was from maintenance, to check on weapons and material nor anything else to call for outside help...
"Boom" is ALREADY a Steven Moffat classic! FACT!❤❤❤
It's not a fact it's your opinion
I want christel dee back yall so boring
Ruby’s not an enemy, but like the Doctor she’s an enigma.
I wonder if Ruby could be the Doctor's ACTUAL sibling from when he was found as a child.
"The War Between The Land And The Sea" 👀👀
How often will you upload?
Every Saturday 8pm
Please tell me we’ll have different hosts for next series, I can’t tolerate Shabaz much longer
The format was a lot better this one. Y’all didn’t talk over each other so much and the clips didn’t destroy my ears lol. If there is one segment I really miss it’s RTD giving a brief talk on a part of the creative process of these.
Learning curve.. we just get excited.. works in person but agreed on a podcast can be hard to listen to.. definitely have done better and take feedback on board ❤
Ed was great
Begging you to let Nadia get a word in
You just watched the episode and keep having to 'reminding [yourselves]'??
It's there for us, not them.
@@Liam3015 Why? We just watched it?? They never did this on the Original Podcast with better hosts!

Never mind the breadcrumbs, we want biscuits!
the actors read their scripts well...
I love Doctor who
I’m assuming this was a Bottle episode since the Doctor stood on a landmine for the whole episode.
On the talk along episode RTD says that Susan Swift is in multiple episodes just cause, and there's nothing around her to do with the series arc. Knowing RTD though, I think that is total bull
Ruby felt a little too Clara for me this episode, but maybe that's the Mofatt of it?
I still miss Tyrell Charles, Crystal Dee, and Juno Dawson, but this episode of the podcast was good. I liked the more relaxed pace.
💜💜
This was very gd my 1st fav at mo 2nd maestro 3rd space babies
Twisted breadcrums. When will we get the whole biscuite?
I love it 💕
Jeez. You lot will last as long as the show! A week!
What are you on about? It's lasted 60 years.
God these guests are lame.
I don’t particularly gel with the hosts, their scripts and delivery are cringe.
I wish they’d do a cut doen of this program minus all the rubbish.
They need to get someone more well known like Seann Walsh as a guest.
@@CineScarborough I want people working on the show as guests.
I realise it’s a fan centric program.
I’m not being forced to watch it.
I should bite my tongue, I haven’t looked for the viewing figures, it’s probably popular with the really young people.
❤❤💙💙💙
When is Doctor Who coming back on BBC??
BBC 1 every Saturday Total of 8 episodes
It is back.
It's been back a couple of weeks.
The New Presenters are just annoying! Bring back Christal and co.!!
I was pretty much convinced boom was going to be a 2 parter
Well, that Monday soldier was played by a recurrent actress - for season 2 - so mayby we will learn more about that "empty war"
@@LisaBeta-42 Mundy
I could not post enough about my disgust with RTD and how he has made this show to demean the fans. First 2 episodes were sickening and insulting.
But I have to admit that “Boom” was exceptional. No overt message just a solid story and allegorical. Gatwa was solid and he is good when he is not flamboyant. Good serious moments. Let’s keep the roll going
“No overt message”
You need to rewatch it
@@iain9757 well…… compared to what it has been it was light. But in general, this is not a show but a lecture.
I feel so old listening to these folk.
Dr who is over. Terrible show. All message, no story. That's what happens when a tv company has no incentive to keep an audience.
Why the heck are the podcasters asking the comedian guy what he means by Susan Twist appearing again? I thought the point was that they watch the episode and then record their thoughts about it? Such a strange podcast.
You thought wrong.
We were asking him to confirm it for the audience that might not have picked up ❤
Why is it so hard to write a companion that isn't vapid and selfish and incapable of competency under pressure. Every chance she gets, Ruby will delay, distract, and do everything in her power to ignore the Doctor's plight and warnings to just make it about herself. Not even one time did she ever recognize the imminent threat but took her own sweet time to enjoy a nice view, pretend she knows better, or just simply freezes up - she doesn't even show consistency when it comes to shock or any other normal response so that you can justify the entire episode moving because she will not and every success that gets us to a good outcome is in spite of her every attempt to harm. This episode really helps lend credence to the fan theory that Ruby is actually a plant from the enemies of the Doctor. Even if she is ignorant of her past, all they need is to seed her with stupidity and rely just on her selfish incompetence to put the Doctor at ongoing risk.
That's what makes it so good, glad to see you missed the whole point.
What if Ruby is the great intelligence that went into the doctors time stream Just before Clara did and this is peace that has come into the future of his timeline which hasn't been written yet? Remember the great intelligence was snow Yes snow takes an important part of the episode twice upon a time but how do we know that that wasn't caused by the great intelligence in his time stream forcing him to not become the doctor and his future self peter Cavaldi rescue him and saved him from not becoming the doctor I mean he was the doctor but he didn't continue as the doctor he stopped and said I'm not gonna budge i'm staying who I am I don't want to change Peter Kovalev is like look old man I am you we do change but for the better don't be so stubborn don't be so scared of what the future holds. as far as he was concerned this was his first regeneration to end and he was scared I don't blame him for being scared but it worked out all right in the end and that's what Peter Capaldi's dr was trying to tell him looked I'm a I'm the doctor too I am you in the future Don't worry you're going to be just fine Because I'm after your 13th regeneration I'm your 14th regeneration So trust me you're gonna do good well be perfect but it's better than the alternative not having the doctor around. So it's possible that Ruby Ruby could be the great intelligence Is possible she could be misses flood It's also possible she could be the Ronnie It's possible that she could be what was her name the division woman the third in the triad of the Rastalon Omega and a her the division. then again she could be the one who waits But who knows.
I hope we get Chris Chibnall as a guest writer ! 😎
Aneurin Barnards a what?
damn the set got worse 😢
I REALLY want to like the podcast but sweet jesus the hosts are unbearable and the guests are just as bad.
Ahh we just need warming up to.. give us another episode 😂❤
"""RUBY""" is Actually """RIVER SONG"""🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🍩
here we go again....2 hosts that are unable to not talk over each other. Surprised how they got the job when they can't even do the most important thing in podcasting.
BOOM was at least SCI FI. The first two were just such DREK.
Completely missing the point of podcasts.. Nobody wants an overproduced artificial podcast
Looking at the shape of the urns: it’s made of human tissue and can emit holograms…? Therefore, a literal flesh light? 🙈
Also, my pet Ruby theory is she’s Rose’s daughter
He will never be the Doctor.
He is.
RIP Doctor Who
Just came here to watch people try to talk up the show when everyone knows it's a complete car crash. As usual, there's always people happy to take payment to say whatever.
Decided not to watch it as I still haven’t finished touching all the grass in my garden yet! (Gatwa) How the viewing figures doing with the 3-5 extra viewers to replace each single true fan you told not to watch? (Monsoon) Going well is it? Laughing myself to sleep while you bury another show due to this woke rubbish…..
Some truly dire dialogue, the whole catch the dead person in a tube thing made no sense at all, laughable character names and where did all the extra Disney money go? Better than episodes 1 and 2 but still pretty naff.
I watched this episode of Boom and like all the previous episodes was disappointed. Somehow for no explicable reason these episodes are being billed as scary. Really? They are anything but. I was so excited to watch a new Doctor and his companion, but these shows are so boring. Nothing.that leaves one on the edge of ones seat as in previous episodes, excluding Jodie Whitaker's Doctor Who.
Nobody ever claimed the episodes were 'scary'. Boom was promoted as an Alfred Hitchcock thriller, not as being scary.
@@CineScarborough Didn't find it in the genre if Aldred Hitchcock. So far the episodes have been boring.
@@melinakkraus5848 Stop watching then, easy.
Not impressed. Poor writing. Lame acting. They should rename the show to Dr Why.
You do it better.
It already failed due to DEI
"Something is automatically bad because it has a minority in it but I'm totally not racist or anything!"
Doctor who has been destroyed I have been watching it since it was in black and white now the story lines are boring it's not doctor who anymore stop making more it's painful watching you destroy it

The only thing they know are whats in their scripts 😂
Doctor Who is D E A D and no amount of gay rainbow unicorn DEI points will revive him 😂
