Boris Yeltsin visits Berlin, 1994

During his visit to Berlin in 1994, Boris Yeltsin signs the guest book in Bellevue Palace. After a late lunch with Federal President Roman Herzog, Chancellor Helmut Kohl accompanies the Russian President to the Soviet Memorial in Berlin's Tiergarten. They commemorate the Soviet soldiers who died in the battle for Berlin and, after a drive through the Brandenburg Gate, lay wreaths for the victims of war and tyranny in the Neue Wache. Afterwards, Boris Yeltsin praises the friendly relations between Moscow and Berlin in a speech at City Hall. During the celebrations he even enthusiastically joins in the chorus when "Kalinka" is played.
