You got the 2011 bug and it's a real condition brother 🤣 My wife thinks I have a problem but I tell her I'm not nearly as bad as some other 2011 owners and I can quit at anytime.😇 Thank you for the kind words.
@claymac2011 kovert ported comes out a few hundred less than the hex! But the hex looks amazing too. The next iteration out of kovert will feature a rose gold barrel. Their twc Kovert also has the twc9 Black redesigned trigger guard
@@markdamon77 I’ll have to look into Kovert edition as well. I’m really interested in that Hex grip texture. I love the grip module on the JG. Thanks for the feedback.
@@charlesgutscher1923 That’s awesome brother! The Platty is really a well built gun and you will love that gun. The Black is great little gun as well. Let me know if you have any questions. Merry Christmas 🎁
@claymac2011 still torn on what I want for a second one. Lol. I bought the platypus because I felt the price to performance, mixed with Glock mags. It's a gun I could do classes with and training, beat up and not feel bad and mags are a dime a dozen. But I want something a bit nicer just to have. 😂. Aesthetically the TWC black does it for me. But the. I think for another grand to 1500 I'm getting into Atlas and nighthawk territory.
@ I understand the dilemma. Only if we had unlimited funds 😂Well if you want to come up in price just a bit. Checkout my review on the KustomWorx Vulcan. That gun is so so nice and you don’t break the bank. Base price is $3200 and you get all the high-end features. The action in the gun is amazing and has a 6-8 week lead time. Hope this helps.
I have the Gen1 TWC9 with the smooth grip and I absolutely LOVE it. No issue with sinking in my grip. I carry mine daily and the smooth grip doesnt wreak havoc on my fat roll. It nice nice. Outstanding fireamr.
Literally the best review of a Jacob Grey 2011 on UA-cam and I believe I watched them all! Fair, honest and clear! I can't recall if you mentioned, but customer service is top tier. What holster are you using? Indexing of the light?
Thank you Sir, I take great pride in doing in-depth reviews. I run a QVO Tactical OWB with X-300 B but the JG is really wide so I had unloosen my screws to get it to fit. TBH isn't not a great setup for the gun.
Doubt I'll ever reach this level of DS 1911's but I sure will try. Great review here with loads of information with transparency is fairly rare. I can't tell you how many reviews that wouldn't say anything wrong about their pistol. Your sub count will skyrocket with informational videos like this, thanks for sharing!
Thank you for your kind words. My goal is do things differently than other gun reviewers. I don’t do these reviews to make money because I have a job…lol I like take all my guns apart and show you what you get in your build as well. I’m blessed to have a be able to buy these guns and I know some folks can only afford one gun. So, I want to bring facts and real world experience vs some guy giving their opinion. This way folks like you can make an informed decision to see if the gun is right for your use case. My other goal is to assist companies to give honest feedback so they can improve their product line without any negativity. I moved to a grading system for his reason to articulate the true differences between these 2011s. Thanks for watching.
@claymac2011 heck yeah I like it, sounds like a good goal! Helping others learn the right way is the best way, there's a lot of misinformation and many of a reviewer who gets paid off eventually. Giving criticism to a company product can be beneficial if they have any QC to speak of. But doing it in a way that they find inviting is probably the tricky part. 😎🤟👊
Have you seen the new Hex model they have? Also, the Holosun PID goes really well on that pistol if you’re interested. Last but not least please do a review on the GP arms patriot as they are really interesting to me. I’m looking into getting one as a new competition pistol for next year.
I was looking at it the Hex other day and looks pretty cool with the ports and pinned grip safety. I try to keep my X300s on my guns because that's what my holster fits and hate buying new ones. I've looked at the GP Arms 2011s but I've got my Hayes Customs on order and can't buy another 2011 until that one comes in here a couple months and I'm going to ShotShow.

Great overview! How does the Jacob Grey TWC Black compare with the Vudoo Priest? They're both relatively in the same price range (Priest is a little higher). If you had to choose, which of the 2 would you go with?
My Priest for sure but I also like 5" 2011s for what it's worth. The only issue with the Priest is availability but check out my Vulcan video. It's a more refined Priest with a 6-8 week lead time. Thanks for watching.
I heard you say you don’t like the Staccato’s polymer trigger but I ordered my Staccato XC with their new aluminum flat trigger they now offer. They ran out 10 minutes after I bought mine but they said once they get more stock in they will offer them on the C2, P, XL, and XC along with making a trigger swap option on their site.
