    Why not take a little off of bottom as well? Wouldn’t that keep fitment even/level?

    • @claymac2011
      @claymac2011 15 годин тому

      Good morning, I had to do that fitting my Atlas trigger because I didn't have clearance on either the top or bottom of the shoe. But on this one, I had clearance on the bottom but not on top. I will also add that the contour rounds off at the top of the Cheely grips and is normally the area where clearance is an issue but I defiantly see your point. Hopefully you can tell that I checked fitment in all directions to ensure everything fit as it should. That's why I go slow real slow...lol Thank you for watching.

As I’ve moved up in price the guns just feel different in your hand. That’s why I’m impressed with the JG because compared to its peers it’s really well made gun. I didn't know this but on Blazer box is says DO NOT shoot the ammo out of ported/comp'd guns. This is because Blazer brass is plated, so I as it goes down the riffling it can break off creating lead deposit.s and excess fouling which could lead to accuracy issues or barrel damage. Great Review! Thank you! Looking forward to the tear down and the range report! This is my 1st 2011 and would like to hear more on how it compares to the others. I currently own one of the previous design and had them upgrade my grip and guide rod to the new design. I was going to have them do the barrel and trigger as well but it didn’t make sense cost wise. I put a few rounds through it the other day and it shot nice but I didn’t have a reference on what good is. I definitely like the black edition more for its aesthetics. Only if I knew the ported version was available. Thanks again!

      May I suggest a topic of discussion to you for your next video. The question: Does this gun have good aftermarket support for upgrades? JG seems to have put their proprietary design in this gun. I wonder if you would be able to upgrade this gun with things like aftermarket grips, safety, and other parts. I don’t think I would be able to change out my grip if I wanted to because the dimensions on their grips are just slightly different than the “standard” specs other manufacturers use. Ie. The screw DIM holding the grip module to the frame, aftermarket barrels etc. Love to hear your thoughts on that! Thanks again! Looking forward to your next video! ….liked and subscribed!

    Isn't every new gun an unproven weapon? So never buy a new to market gun? So that means, no one ever buys a new gun meaning gun manufacturers can't make new weapons cause no one will buy them? I'm sure that reasoning works for some, but if we all follow that logic, then we never get any new stuff... just my observation on that observation....

    • @claymac2011
      @claymac2011 11 місяців тому

      You are correct, that if everyone took this approach no one would be buy anything new. However, I did buy the gun at pre-launch, so I have no issues with buying a new manufacture's offering. I will say, there's a lot less risk when blind buying a unproven manufacture pistol vs blind buying a unproven pistol from a well established manufacture. So I can see the other side of the debate with people wanting to wait on purchasing the 2311 until they feel comfortable dropping their hard earned cash. Thanks for your feedback.

    I was looking at this gun, but decided on P320 AXG Legion. OA’s price is steep and too many gigs on gun, so I’ll pass on OA 2311. Go Platypus 1911 for G17 mags for less than 2k.

      Thank you. My wife thinks I have too many guns but I keep telling her that guns are like tools, you need different guns to do different things 😊

    While I get wanting to compare it to the CS (I have a C2), the CS is $700 more. Not saying the CS isn’t worth it, but I wouldn’t expect this to have the same fit of a pistol that costs ~40% more.

      I compared them because OA is marketing them as a a duty pistol and both are production guns and not hand fitted. So I do agree that my $2400 CS vs $2K OA isn’t dollar for dollar but my Prodigy has better fit than my OA. The other reason is for folks who are on the fence between Stuccato and OA. I figured with so few people owning both at this time that having a regular guy giving his honest feedback would be a good thing . You will also see comments below that others don’t have the same issue that I have with fit as I do. I will say that I returned my gun back to OA last week for inspection because I had alot of malfunctionsi/issues on my first range visit. I hope they will address my concerns with the gun. When the gun did shoot it was a good experience but for an extra $400-600 dollars you can get the name and reliability of a Stuccato. I appreciate the feedback. BTW: I get a Military discount so your prices may vary.

      @@claymac2011 in terms of MSRP, it’s $700 more though, not $400-$600, unless somehow you didn’t pay taxes on your Staccato in your state but did on the OA. But I guess I don’t understand how that would be the case. Edit: ah okay sounds like you did the “Heroes” program with Staccato. That’s a bit of an asterisk in my mind for the price comparison as that’s not accessible to all, but in fairness OA could offer a discount themselves. If the pistol isn’t reliable then the price difference becomes even more moot. I have a Prodigy as well and that took a trip back to Springfield Armory to get working well. I do like it now, but it was in rough shape out of the box. I hope these do well because I would like to see more 2011 style options on the market, but I’m not crazy on the grip myself.

      Just checked my OA out the door was $1,997.68 my CS was $2,437.19. I own a lot of guns and when I pay $2K I expect a certain standard of fit and finish. I think if you had shot and felt both guns you’d agree (seeing you own C2) that if saved up the cost difference a Stuccato is the better option. This a hobby for me and for others it’s their only gun they purchase. So I feel confident in my opinion but again it’s just my opinion.

      @@claymac2011 right, but from your edit above it sounds like those prices are a function of the Heroes Program from Staccato (there’s no u in Staccato my friend), assuming that’s where the discount comes from. You can look up the MSRP right on the websites. I’m not saying the functional issues you mentioned in your comment are acceptable. Do I expect a difference in fit and finish for 40% more? Yeah, otherwise that would suggest Staccato is really fleecing their customers. My Prodigy is no where near my Staccato and needed a trip back to the factory to correct some issues. In my experience the money does go somewhere.

      @@Murphy82nd Yes Sir. I get all of my Stuccato’s with mil discount. I was fortunate with my Prodigy because SA worked out all kinks on their customer base😂. I love my OA and maybe I just got a turd but it’s in the shop getting fixed or maybe replaced so hopefully I can back and say it’s a great option if you don’t have the funds to get a Stuccato but at the moment I can’t do that.

      I returned my gun last week to OA after having issues with FTF, not going into battery and the optics plate being loose but the screws didn’t back out. OA was great to work with on my RMA and I hope they’ll get me sorted. Thanks for your feedback.

    Appreciate the review. Your right nobody on YT has content on the compact other then at the shows. Could the movement be due to the "debris clearing channels" cut in to move any potential build up out instead of staying in causing the typical failures when not staying on top of cleaning...hoping it will be a great EDC.

      Thank you for the comment. I reached out to OA and they said the gun is spec'd with looser tolerances due to being duty in nature. I do understand that to a degree but I reminded them Stuccato's are duty grade as well and have tighter tolerances. It's not a knock on OA it just stinks for me when other's with the same gun have tighter tolerances than mine. Like I a said I a have a sample size of one and not all Stuccato's aren't perfect either. Just my two cents...
