Thank you so much for the Dreamcatcher reaction! And I would definitely recommend checking them out. They have some amazing b sides and amazing chemistry as a group. And Insomnicsy is a great fantube for getting more info on the group and their personalities 😊
This is such a great song. It kinda feels like a giant middle finger to the kpop industry. They've done a girl crush concept, a standard in the industry these days, but done it THEIR way, heavy and with the rock vibe. After the music show wins I feel like its saying "Thanks for the recognition, but really we've been here and been awesome." The whole concept of girl crush, of being badass and standing out from the crowd, is basically just what Dreamcatcher have always been. I'm explaining this terribly, great freaking song, and an excellent album
I think this makes perfect sense! I like their attitude a lot. If they're being independent and pushing back against the industry I think that's awesome, good for them! Reminds me of how people talk about (G)I-DLE making their own path and being strong. Thanks for sharing and for watching!
@@ChainReactionsChannelyou've gotta react to Rising from this album its arguably the most authentic rock sound ive heard from them/any other kpop girl groups 🤟 also thank you for the reaction! 🔥
This is part 1 or a supposed 2 parter. It talks about narcissism and fake social media clout. The text box in the video is a fake twitter account created by the company as part of the mystery surrounding this storyline. If you like lore DC are your girls. There are tons of other songs in their discography and Rising in this newest album is a great addition to their rock stock. Hope you get to check them out more!!❤
Dreamcatcher members : 1. 1:49 This is Yoohyeon. 2. 1:14 This is Siyeon. 3. 1:45, 1:46 This is Gahyeon (Maknae). 4. 1:09 This is Dami. 5. 1:42 This is Jiu (Leader). 6. 1:25 This is SuA. 7. 1:36 This is Handong.
This song is SATIRE. Calling out all the fake on social media , insta-people, influencers, the fake in the industry also. Although an amzing song, definitely not the best introduction to Dreamcatcher😅 its very far from what they "usually" do Would def recommend their Dystopian Trilogy - Scream -Boca -Odd eye Then maybe check out a guide to them before diving in the Nightmare series. For all your dreamcatcher needs (😅) the number 1 Chanel is def Insomnicsy
I love that this had a deeper message! It's cool that this is different for them because that shows me they have range and true talent to change up their sound and STILL look/sounds this good. Can't wait to check out more of them. Thank you for sharing and recommending!
These ladies do some HARD choreographies too. If you are interested, the Dance Practice for this song just came up on their channel a few hours ago. They do dances on a regular basis that most other girl groups would not do. Their hardest stuff is harder than some of the boy group choreos... Oh, and their Main Dancer is no joke! SuA has choreographed a solo project for herself, a couple for some of their sub-units and her latest was for the entire group (their usual company choreographer was out-of-town so SuA did the job, and did GREAT at it. She basically beat all the members' asses with the choreo for 'Demian'; they all hurt afterward and SuA actually had to lighten it up a little bit, in order to keep one member form passing out. Yoohyeon SINGS during the choreo, so doing both simultaneously was too much for her. SuA isn't malicious about it, she just likes to push things a little bit, push people out of their comfort zones. That performance turned out to be AMAZING. If you see it, you will understand the term for the concept 'AbsCatcher'. Good luck with that, please don't die. They do other concepts as well; there is another similar descriptive term for one of their concepts, 'SuitCatcher', for certain other videos or stages (their Performance Video for 'Black Or White', for example). And there are myriad other ways to switch up their name for certain situations. One of those would be 'SpoilCatcher', because at certain times, the members themselves (and even one time their CEO) gave out spoilers for certain content that fans had no idea was coming until the spoilers happened. Everybody has those days though, right? Nobody is perfect, not even my ULT Group. lol :)
Welcome to the Dreamworld! Dreamcatcher are very unique. They are the dark angels of Kpop and the only girl group who consistently incorporate Rock and Metal in their title tracks, fusing that with Kpop into something that basically is a new genre. They also are drenched in horror and social criticism, which again is special. Plus, they are massively talented, all of them. And while the girls look like they could rip out your spine when they are on stage, off stage they are adorable crackheads. 😉 At first glance you could think this is about them being proud and happy with themselves, about confidence. I don't think that is it though. I have no idea if my theory is correct, but the fact that the album is called VersuS VillainS makes me think it is not this simple. So I believe this song is meant as a criticism of narcissism, vanity, materialism and also (maybe) the fast fashion industry. "OOTD" stands for "Outfit of the Day" after all, maybe useless instagram influencers posting videos of their outfit of the day, which also promotes fast fashion. The fact that fashion is moving ever faster is actually the most destructive industry to the planet apart from the fossil fuel industry. The Aral lake has all but disappeared because of the cotton industry for example. It would fit to the Villain image, and you can see in the MV that they are acting. It is shown in the scene where Yoohyeon and Handong are fighting, but then the camera is off and Handong helps Yoohyeon up. The main reason why I don't think it is about confidence or their own success is the line "Driving on the highway, drunken everyday, do you feel like a monster?" and the album title. That just doesn't fit. And there was the ymenehcra account posting about touching a crown is dangerous and other cryptic messages before the comeback. It could also be a big and well-hidden F*U to the Kpop industry, like the Nightmare arc probably was. The narcissism and materialism is definitely criticized here, and Dreamcatcher have been criticized a lot themselves because of their rock/metal concept, while other groups have been celebrated for using a guitar riff once in a song. The music is highly interesting as well. There still is rock there, but dialed back. The song structure is not what you'd expect at all, for me it is punk rock meets K-Pop. Not their usual spiel, but a very good progression. It takes a couple of listens to really appreciate it.
I think it's so cool that they regularly have a message/make statements with their music, that's such a great form of artistry I really appreciate it. The more I learn about Dreamcatcher the more I see how dope they are. Thank you for sharing, more to come!
This song is very divisive for the Dreamcatcher fandom (InSomnia) - it is different from their other title songs. Some fans are saying that this is more like a standard Kpop song -so selling out, as opposed to Dreamcatcher's unique (for kpop) rock based genre. But I think it is also meant to bring in new fans. There are multiple ways to interpret the song - but I think they are deliberately going beyond being self-confident into portraying themselves as manipulative narcissists, or villains. (The new album is called Villains). JiU, the leader, (the one who says she is a Goddess) is considered to be the visual of the group. A lot of people notice her first. I was originally drawn in by Yoohyeon (Blue hair) and Dami (the main rapper) from the song "What." Besides the regular guides, I would recommend "Dodging Disbandment and Other Extreme Sports: A History of Dreamcatcher" by Mera.
Well this might be more "standard Kpop" than Dreamcatcher's other sounds but I can promise InSomnia that this doesn't sound "standard" at all to me! They come off as cool, talented and unique for whatever that's worth coming from a new KPop fan who likes rap and metal. Thank you for sharing this and I appreciate you watching!
@@ChainReactionsChannel Thanks for your reaction. I was wondering how this would come across to someone who is coming in without the expectations of a fan. And it sounds good!
I haven't deep dived into Dreamcatcher fully yet. I've heard about 30 songs so far. Some of my favourites so far that have music videos are Vision, Scream and BOCA. Some of my favourites that don't have videos I don't think are Rising, Starlight and Propose. I discovered Dreamcatcher because I ult Ateez and someone told me Dreamcatcher share some of the same producers, so I had to check them out, and also fell in love.
They were known as a group called "MINX" and it was composed of 5 members : Jiu, Dami, Yoohyeon, SuA and Siyeon. The concept was bubbly (I like bubbly concept). MINX debuted in 2014 with 'Why Did You Come To My Home?' [MV]. But they rebranded it to "Dreamcatcher" and debuted as a 7 member group : Jiu (Leader), Yoohyeon, Dami, Handong (She wasn’t a MINX member), Gahyeon (Maknae) (She wasn’t a MINX member), Siyeon and SuA. Dreamcatcher has been known for their dark concept (I like dark concept too). Dreamcatcher debuted in 2017 with 'Chase Me' MV.
Dreamcatcher is very very good. I see others have flooded you with info. They are another one of my personal top 3 favorites Side note: While RV's Wendy was a radio DJ Dreamcatcher's SuA was a weekly guest on her program. To me, one of the best things to come out of late 2021- early 2022 was their interactions
I wasn’t expecting this sound at all, but I shouldn’t be surprised because they got some of everything in their catalog! Man these girls are so dope, can’t wait to see more of your reactions!
Dreamcatcher were the first K-pop group I ever heard, about 3 years ago. Before that, I only listened to rock / hard rock / metal (and occasionally Classical music) and I avoided "pop". I think the first song I heard from them was "Piri", and I was instantly hooked.
Welcome to the cult, man, we are the camera at the end falling over every time Dreamcatcher does anything because they are just so uniquely insane in their own way. There is plenty of info and already overwhelming in the comments with love for the group, I'm sure you got the gist that they done a lot and honestly no single guide will be enough to get to know them fully. If you decide to go through all of their stuff you might be here till their next comeback lol
Yeah I absolutely love how passionate their fans are! Honestly it makes this more fun and easier for me to know what to do next. I see that this is a little different for them so I'll definitely have to see more to get a better understanding but I like what I saw here! Thank you for watching!
Thank you for react to the girls. If this is your very first time to them ... fyi this is not their usual sound AT ALL. But it still very very good ;). I'm sure there will be tons of insomnia (dreamcatcher's fandom name) give you info about them. This song might seems about fashion like~ this is my way to express myself oh im pretty BUT it's darker than that XD trust me the dreamcatcher always tell us something that punch us in the face. And welcome to the dreamworld. Hope you enjoy the journey.
Yes I thought this was more of a flex sort of song but I see now it is that PLUS a commentary on the industry which makes me like it even more! These ladies are doing something cool and I'm glad to see it. Thanks for watching, more to come! 🤩
Loved seeing your first intro to these amazing women! They tend to keep their titles tracks as metal/rock genres mixed with kpop and whatever else they want, they're not afraid to experiment! I'd suggest watching their live showcase of ootd (on the dreamcatcher official channel) it will allow you to appreciate both their live vocals and amazing dancing! (their dancing is always very impressive even from debut in 2017) Im sure other insomnia have given you many a run down and suggestions, but Id check out the Dystopia trilogy (scream, boca, odd eye) and their apocalypse trilogy (maison, vision, bon voyage) for a good look into a few different styles they are probably more well known for. their b-sides have almost every genre of music also, from pop-punk, to soft ballad, to metal, to r&b to jazz! hope you have fun diving into the black hole that is dreamcatcher as once you enter you can never leave :) edit: Id also add, 'Rising' from this newest album is amazing and worth a listen :) (they also have a live performance of this one - no dance but live vocals are amazing. again on the official dreamcatcher channel)
Hey! I'm so glad I got to this, InSomnia has been great and welcoming! I'm thinking I might do an EP reaction and then obviously check out older stuff too. Thank you for watching!

I appreciate this information! I am very excited and InSomnia has been such a great group to meet today. I look forward to getting to know Dreamcatcher AND InSomnia.
As a fellow metalhead. Welcome to the dreamworld. I recommend any one of their songs. But if I was to pick one specifically, I’ll choose “Bon voyage “ or “ endless night “

great reaction vid! i absolutely love metal (mostly nu-metal, and post hardcore) and dreamcatcher is my ult kpop group! they have a long and v huge discography as theyve been in the biz nearly a decade now so u rlly get to see their style evolve thorughout their careers. lost of fans refer to them as a rock kpop group since their first "series" of MVs and title tracks leaned heavily on jrock and synth rock as a whole but theyve over time only gotten more experimental in their sound and themes. Their bsides is often where they get to go nuts and do genres theyre not known for and have a bit of everything and theyre all fantastic in their own rights too, no skips ever!! I feel like a lot of people either start from the very beginning of their stuff starting with "Chase Me", or they start with the Scream Trilogy "Scream" MV as it was kinda of like DC ushering in a new era sound-wise and really informs their current work.
Wow! This was a huge departure from most of what I've seen from Dreamcatcher. But I'm always impressed when groups do something completely different. I prefer their rock sound but this was still very cool.
Yeah I guess this is not typical for them which is even more impressive, that it still works! I'm going to post my reaction to the rest of the EP soon. Thanks for watching!
Pretty different from their usual sound actually, but it is always rock/metal-influenced (at least the title tracks). Historically they've done more stuff that's closer to dark fantasy concepts though. This was also way more industrial and "dirty" than they've done before, but they did it really well (one of my favourite of their songs, "BEcause" also has stuff I might describe as industrial, but very different). When I was listening to the intro track that precedes OOTD on this new album I got a very strong Nine Inch Nails vibe suddenly (and I love NIN). But yeah, welcome! 😊And looking forward to more Dreamcatcher reactions. (I'm sure you've been given a lot of other info by now, because us lovely, -rabid- InSomnia will descend upon any DC reaction video and tell you everything you wanted to know and more! So I'll leave it here for now 😅)
Hey! InSomnia has been so dope today! I didn't expect such a strong reaction but I've been blown away by how passionate and cool the fans have been. I can't wait to see and learn more about these ladies. Thank you for sharing!
This is the last song I would recommend to someone hearing them for the first time. It's such a farcry from their usual title tracks (but definitely not unusual for them to experiment with genres for B-sides). Highly recommend starting with their debut Chase Me (their leader JiU also recommends this to first-timers).
Welcome to the fold! Like others have already commented, this is a more experimental title track - they've always done genre mixing, "Boca" is probably a good example. Honestly, I would suggest that whole era - "Scream" first, that one caught my attention orginally for it's melodic metal sound; then "Boca" followed by "Odd Eye". It shows a decent range of what these girls can do (and there's so many different genres in their Bsides, I don't even know where to start. Like, "Jazz Bar" is very jazzy, while songs like "Airplane" and "Whistle" have more of a bubbly summer/disco vibe (especially in stark contrast to the Horror concept of the title track BEcause!) and so on!) A lot to explore, if you ever find time, but even just their title tracks are absolutely worth it. I'd definitely recommend checking out Scream and Endless Night at least, tho!
I follow them since their debut and they were more into rock and melodic metal but I find this is super close to industrial which I really like, last part sounds very ominous similar to bands like NIN or Kidneythieves
I think you really like Dreamcatcher music. Hoping for more.😉 My favorites from them are Vision, Good Night, & No More. Maybe you can react to these in the future.
Yeah I am definitely enjoying Dreamcatcher! I know I have a *lot* of songs (and dance/performance videos!) To check out and I am very excited for all of it.
Hey, better late than never! lol Thanks for checking out Dreamcatcher! This is part of their 9th Mini EP "VillianS". I would highly recommend you checking out their b-side "Rising" from the album . They don't have a official video but the live stage from their showcase ( ua-cam.com/video/qAwxbYzwkNI/v-deo.html ) is good. It also showcases their great live vocals as well~
Haha. 😅 I've been seeing some suggestions of "rising," and I've also been enjoying album reviews so so maybe I can check it all out... Thanks for the recommendation and for watching with me!
I watched your reaction before listening to the album, and after I heard it, I came here to comment and BEG you to listen to it! lol it's a 10/10 for me, not their usual sound but SO good nonetheless
Thank you for checking out Dreamcatcher! I hope you will delve more into their discography. If you like their sound there is more where that came from! ❤ We just want to make you SCREAM 🤘😈🤘
thank you for checking out dreamcatcher! they’re one of my fav artists ever and as someone who’s also into metal (mostly metalcore) I’m gonna tell you rn you gotta check out more stuff they’re awesome. they’re known for being able to pull off any concept or genre, but mainly known for incorporating rock and metal elements into their music. they’re extremely versatile here are some songs I think you should check out - •scream •boca •you and I •deja vu •good night •piri •demian •bonvoyage •propose •endless night (japanese song) •no more (japanese song) •break the wall •reason •black or white •sahara •locked inside a door - and honestly I think you should check out their new ep it’s so good! again thanks for the reaction 🫶🏻
I love the way they blended the influences here and if you've watched my other videos you know I love that bad girl/in your face energy lol. Definitely gonna check out more for sure. The new EP, you mean the one this song is from or something else? Thanks for sharing!
Thanks gor checking out Dreamcatcher! I see youve already gotten a bunch of info so ill just say welcome to the rabbit hole. Also, I really liked your edits at the bottom with the one liners. I got a good laugh out of those.
FYI, OOTD a satire song. Poking fun at the industry. In reality, Dreamcatcher is the 'Black Sheep' in K-Pop industry for many years just because of their Rock & Metal music style. Their normal style more to Dark & the lyrics have deep meaning.Their song always have that social commentary element, previously they talk about Mental Health, Language of Hatred (cyber bully, hate speech, racism etc) & Environmental Issue. But this time, they come out with Girl Crush vibe with cringiest lyrics ever, like intentionally. Some might think they've 'lost' their Rock & Metal identity, but what I see is Dreamcatcher subtly 'mocking' the fake social influencer & celebrity out there that always brag about their looks & wealth, being drama king/ queen & chasing fame. Even the detail in OOTD MV show some green screen, photoshop here and there, bruised leg etc.
Yes the intentionally unfinished editing/ behind the scenes stuff makes a lot of sense with the commentary/satire message. I really like when groups have a strong message on their music, that's real artistry. I also love the bad girl/dark concepts so I'm a big fan of this. Thanks for sharing!
Nice reaction and editing.. i would usually post a long a$$ comment introducing this group, but since there are already lots of insomnia (fandom name) introducing you to them, I'll just list down their discography (just their title tracks of singles/EPs/albums) in chronological order NIGHTMARE SERIES : -Chase Me (Debut) (2017) -Goodnight (immediate continuation from Chase Me) -Fly high (Prequel to Chase Me) -You & I (strong connection from Fly High) -What (Still trapped in the Nightmare in a different setting) -Piri (it's a flute which JiU used to warn the rest about the danger they're in) (2019) DYSTOPIA TRILOGY: (take note of the Tree, which reflects the mood for each MV) -Scream (2020) (They're spirits of the Tree of Language. Awakened from their sleep due to overwhelming spread of the world's words/actions toxicity) -Boca ('Mouth' in Spanish) (Set out into the world to stop those social toxicity which results in depression/death to the affected ones) -Odd Eye (2021) (Trying to find Utopia within the world's social/online toxicity, but ended up getting themselves corrupted) **Only for Scream & Boca, 1 member, Handong, wasn't with them as she was in China, participating a show, Youth With You, and various schedules. Supposed to comeback for Boca but was stuck there due to the Pandemic. COLLABORATION WITH MOBILE GAME COMPANIES: -Deja vu (Game: King's Raid) -R.o.S.E Blue (Game: Girl Gun Cafe) ANNIVERSARY SINGLES dedicated to InSomnias: -Full Moon -Over The Sky -Reason JAPANESE RELEASES that have MVs, (heavier rock/metal influence) : -Breaking out (alternate/actual ending to Nightmare series) -Endless Night -No More -Eclipse (King's Raid anime 2nd Opening OST) Summer Holiday Special EP: -BEcause (About Obsessive love) Apocalypse Trilogy: -Maison (2022) (Warning the ones responsible in changing the climate and destroying the planet to stop doing it and do something to improve the situation) -Vision (Onward marching into battle, showing the world a vision of what's to come) -Bon Voyage (In my perspective, it's like a love letter to mother nature to take a rest or separation from the world after Apocalypse happened) -OOTD (latest) (2023)
When I first listened to OOTD, I thought the song was soo amazing and great, but it was different from what I had expected, so I felt unfamiliar. But, the second and third... As I listened to it, I see myself quickly falling into the magic of another Dreamcatcher as I always did. Surely, Dreamcatcher is Dreamcatcher ! 👍
I didn't have anything to compare it to, but I have also liked it more as I listened to it again! Thank you for watching, InSomnia has been amazing to me.
Welcome to the dreamworld! And thank you for checking out dreamcatcher! There is a mini album called VillainS. We call it Vesus Villains too. There are 5 tracks total (1 intro + 4 songs). They did a comeback showcase and performed OOTD, Shatter and Rising. Also, all their title tracks is inspired in rock but their other songs have many different styles as well. The main rapper who said "F*ck outta my way" is Dami. But dreamcatcher has 3 rappers: Dami, SuA and Gahyeon. The main vocalist is Siyeon. The Leader and Visual is JiU. The lead vocalist is Yoohyeon. Vocalist are: JiU, SuA, Handong and Gahyeon. Subvocalist is Dami. Well, this are their roles when they debuted but you'll see that they are very talented and the vocals are amazing. Also, each of them has a solo song!
Thank you for this information, always appreciate that. These names look like I might struggle a little bit haha but I'll work on it. Thank you for watching, more Dreamcatcher to come!
I think you’d be interested in checking out the rest of this album. Rising will be right up your alley. They performed Rising and Shatter during their showcase, so you’ll probably be able to watch the stages. The syncing for Shatter’s recording is off, so you’ll have to bear with it if you want to watch the live performance.
Thank you for the recommendation, I definitely do want to see more even if this isn't their 'typical' sound, they clearly have a dope vibe and lots of talent. Thank you for watching with me!
Aww heck yeah! I had a feeling this would be your first DC reaction lol! You are gonna love this journey and I cannot wait to see what DC mv you're gonna react to next! Thank you for this CR! ✌
Actually, they don't sell attitude. They're denouncing the music industry standards. And there's a big back story to this video, which involved a unique social media storyline. I suggest listening to Rising, which for me was the true title song of Versus Villains, and a true Rock song.
Thank you for sharing! I do love their attitude but I understand now there was a social commentary here which I also think is great. I have since listened to the whole album if you're interested: ua-cam.com/play/PL17cDK8nTtaV0mPnwTiracx7dCUGZnSui.html
You’d like their Japanese track Don’t Light My Fire! Pure symphonic metal. They also had a Hammerfall member help with another track (can’t remember if it’s Endless Night or No More); but they have an incredibly diverse discography that’s consistently well produced and always accompanied by phenomenal live performances. Siyeon could front a metal band with no effort!
just have to say that your editing is so fun! anyway welcome to dreamcatcher world! the comments says everything so i won't say anything about the group itself. i can recommendations tho! they do a lot of genders but the main base for everything stays rock: for their harder side you should definitely listen to Endless Night, for a more rnb sound then Red Sun, for a more jazzy sound you can listen to Jazz Bar or Locked inside a door. but yeah the best with dreamcatcher is to start from older to newest because every cb is in a storyline of 3 parts most of the time.
By the way, you must check the albums (B-sides) by Dreamcatcher. You should be shocked. 😉 OOTD..Rising..Shatter..We are young. Just Masterpiece ! It is Dreamcatcher. Thanks.
Thank you so much for reacting to Dreamcatcher; great reaction! ❤ Us fans are called InSomnia. I’d recommnd starting from their debut single called “Chase Me”. It’s part of a storyline called Nightmare. The next songs in the series, in order, are Good Night, Fly High, You and I, What, and Piri. They also have a Dystopia trilogy which addresses topics such as cyberbullying. The songs are Scream, Boca, and Odd Eye. Their latest trilogy, before this song, is called the Apocalypse trilogy and the songs are Maison, Vision and Bonvoyage. They also have special mini albums with the songs Deja Vu (highly recommend this one) and BEcause, as well as Japanese releases (I think you’d love their Japanese song “Endless Night”). Anyway, I had to sub; looking forward to future Dreamcatcher reactions! 🥰
Thank you for sharing this, and thank you of course for watching. I've really appreciated InSomnia and how welcoming you all are to a new fan! Can't wait to explore more of them and get to know you all too!
Great reaction! I love the comments you wrote under the video. 👍 The girl with the blue hair is Yoohyeon, and the one with the black hair right afterwards is the leader Jiu. 🔥🔥
Oh man where have you been!!! If u like rock definitely check out their other title tracks, this is nothing compared to some older songs when it comes to that "rock" sound. Glad u liked our girlies, DC is a black hole so be ready!! Hope you check out more of their stuff!!! Some info im sure others in the comments have also said but basicly their tittle tracks are always around the "rock" sound but they always find something new to make it interesting. They also tend to have a story, their earlier stuff is based around nightmares, after that there is 2 triologies and now I believe OOTD is the start of a new triology. Their b-sides experiment in many other genres and they always pull if off. They are insane live, definitely check out some live stuff from them, they sound better than album versions its so insane.. Their choreo is super hard, a lot of formations, so would recommend either live performances where u can see the choreo or their chore versio of MVs or dance practices. and lastly they are some of the funniest idols, theyre so close (been together for years) so they turn into crackheads, they are so unfiltered its insane, check out some variety shows (even if in ur own time, they are hilarious)
This one is a bit of a different side for DC, because their songs aren't usually "flex" songs like this. But the title tracks pretty much always have some rock influence, as well as many of the B-sides! Fxxx outta my way!
Dreamcatcher are THE dark angels of Kpop! If you like metal, make sure to check out their Japanese releases as well! Also, Dreamcatcher are well known for their range. They've got insane choreo, BEAUTIFUL vocals and rap, and their concepts are always solid. This concept may seem very 'out there' for them, but Dreamcatcher are actually well known for the social commentary they include in their discography. For example, BOCA was about cyber-bullying and Maison was about damage to the environment. OOTD is a satire- a call-out of the narcissism of superstars, and the falsified 'idol face' that's so prevalent. It's why the lyrics are so self-aggrandizing, and there are constant cuts to the editing. I saw another comment saying this, and I totally agree- it's VERY telling that a lot of reviewers take this as a standard 'girl-crush' concept, and are missing the point of the song entirely!
I definitely thought this was a bad girl/flex song, 😞 but now I can see the other meaning, and it makes so much sense that they had the intentionally exposed editing/behind the scenes aspects to show what's fake. I love that they're bringing a message, and I'm happy to support that message! I may not have known the deeper meaning of the song but I definitely did catch the vocals and the choreo talent, they definitely have that star quality! Thank you for sharing, InSomnia has been super coolvandni can't wait to learn more!
@@ChainReactionsChannel Oh! Lol it wasn't a call out of you! I should have specified, there are reviews concerned Dreamcatcher have 'sold out' and started doing 'typical Kpop stuff.' In reality, even if they are making a more 'mainstream' song, they're still finding a message and making it their own!😁
@@Vesper48 Got it - I did see someone else say that people thought this was "standard Kpop" so I can tell you as someone from the outside of InSomnia (for now, my application to join is submitted lol) this still stands out as being different from most of the "standard kpop" I've been seeing! Looking forward to supporting them more!🤩
You'll probably like it just by listening to Dreamcatcher's title songs, but the included songs are also very good. Please listen even if you don't upload the video.
check their other song "rising" from this album, it's a more classic Dreamcatcher song. check the live version if you can, live version is much better than sound track imo
WELCOME TO DREAMCATCHER WORLD...TY FOR REACT DREAMCATCHER. PLEASE REACT ALL THEY SONGS. THEY HAVE ALL GOOD SONGS. AND PLEASE GIVE THEY CHANCE TO UP TOO... IF YOU NEW, I SUGGEST YOU START FROM THIS SONG: 1. SCREAM 2. BOCA 3. ODD EYE THIS SONGS PART FROM 'Dystopia Trilogy Storyline'... Ty😊🇲🇾
Thanks for your reaction! Dreamcatcher’s title tracks are consistently rock-influenced, but they usually blend that with other genres (hip-hop, EDM, etc.). Every song sounds different, but they all sound like Dreamcatcher, if that makes sense. Their B-sides dive more deeply into different genres, but their title tracks keep a consistent dark/horror concept with a rock base. I’m reading OOTD as almost a Matrix-style commentary on the narcissistic artificiality of the Kpop industry. The video emphasizes the behind-the-scenes elements and digital touch-ups so much that it feels like they’re slapping a “THIS IS FAKE” sign on it. But it’s also a very good version of the type of song they’re satirising. Is it still satire if what they’re saying is true? 😆😂
I love that they make cool songs, look dope, AND they have a message behind it. That's artistry! Going to be posting my reaction to the rest of the EP soon, stay tuned and thank you for watching/sharing your thoughts!
First, a disclaimer, Dreamcatcher is a bit on the second tier of groups I follow (first tier = Mamamoo, (g)i-dle). That said, this song/MV struck me as a bit of a departure from the style I had associated with them. A quick look on the interweb indicates that others may feel the same. Dreamcatcher has been raising their profile lately and may be trying to expand their audience--nothing wrong with that. Still, you might want to check out some of the usual suspects for this group: 'Scream,' 'Boca,' 'Odd Eye,' and I recommend the climate change protest song sequence, 'Maison' and 'Vision.' Cheers
It's a satire of fake images of influencers, Handong is all beauty and shiny but her legs are full of bruises, the fight when Yoohyeon falls is also fake ... JiU is in a box, all backgrounds are special effects, nothing is real. Please check the previous albums they are really good at what they do.
Hi. Yeah the 'exposed' editing/behind the scenes stuff makes perfect sense with the satire/social commentary! I love a group with a message, and then they're this cool on top of that? Can't wait to see more. Thank you for watching and for sharing your thoughts!
Yeah people have been saying this isn't their typical song - I like that! They have enough talent and range that they can branch out and still be this good? Sign me up! 🤩 Thanks for being here!
Hey Thank you for watching. Funny you should mention that! I react to the rest of the EP here (just dropped today): ua-cam.com/video/kXfFW4jMfcE/v-deo.html
I don't know why this song reminds me of the punk rock genre. I think it's a good song but not special. Without a music video, this song loses its appeal.
I react to the Rest of the VillainS EP + OOTD Dance Practice here: ua-cam.com/video/kXfFW4jMfcE/v-deo.html
Thank you so much for the Dreamcatcher reaction! And I would definitely recommend checking them out. They have some amazing b sides and amazing chemistry as a group. And Insomnicsy is a great fantube for getting more info on the group and their personalities 😊
Oh I will definitely check them out, they're doing that bad girl thing and I LIKE IT! Thank you for watching!
@@qq_2005 I second this recommendation they seriously channeled Muse and did it very very well.
Yeah I felt that it's more of a satire.
@@TheBlbeemerit is definitely a satire on the Kpop industry and social media. That’s how I feel about it haha
Hope you get to check them out more!!❤
Very cool - I love these groups that have a strong message and push back on industry/society. Thank you for sharing, I will definitely check out more!

Gahyeon ( Gah-Hyun )
Dami ( Dah- mee)
JiU ( Gee-you )
SuA ( Sue- ah )
Handong ( Hahn-dong )
This song is SATIRE. Calling out all the fake on social media , insta-people, influencers, the fake in the industry also.
Although an amzing song, definitely not the best introduction to Dreamcatcher😅 its very far from what they "usually" do
Would def recommend their Dystopian Trilogy
- Scream
-Boca
-Odd eye
Then maybe check out a guide to them before diving in the Nightmare series.
Nobody is perfect, not even my ULT Group. lol :)
Haha I love the name variants - abscatcher sounds ... Problematic 😅 can't wait. Thanks for sharing and for being here! InSomnia has been so cool.
@@ChainReactionsChannel Can't wait to see your next reaction to them. :)
At first glance you could think this is about them being proud and happy with themselves, about confidence.
Congratulations. You found the Dreamcatcher rabbithole. There's no going back 😃
Here we go! Thanks for watching!
you need to react to their song rising from this recent album its crazy
Great suggestions! OOTD Dance and VillainS EP here: ua-cam.com/video/kXfFW4jMfcE/v-deo.html
I noticed this song was very bass guitar driven it was sick
It's so sick, I'll be dropping a reaction to the rest of the EP soon too. Thanks for watching!
@@ChainReactionsChannel Rising is awesome more rock to me than ootd! This mini album was an amazing comeback!
They were known as a group called "MINX" and it was composed of 5 members :
Jiu, Dami, Yoohyeon, SuA and Siyeon.
The concept was bubbly (I like bubbly concept).
MINX debuted in 2014 with 'Why Did You Come To My Home?' [MV].
But they rebranded it to "Dreamcatcher" and debuted as a 7 member group :
Jiu (Leader), Yoohyeon, Dami, Handong (She wasn’t a MINX member), Gahyeon (Maknae) (She wasn’t a MINX member), Siyeon and SuA.
Dreamcatcher has been known for their dark concept (I like dark concept too).
Dreamcatcher debuted in 2017 with 'Chase Me' MV.
Love the dark concept! Thank you for this information!
Dreamcatcher is very very good. I see others have flooded you with info.
They are another one of my personal top 3 favorites
Side note: While RV's Wendy was a radio DJ Dreamcatcher's SuA was a weekly guest on her program. To me, one of the best things to come out of late 2021- early 2022 was their interactions
I can't wait to see more! Thanks for watching!
@@ChainReactionsChannel btw Taeyeon (Girls Generation leader and main vocal) has a comeback on the 27th 🙂
I wasn’t expecting this sound at all, but I shouldn’t be surprised because they got some of everything in their catalog! Man these girls are so dope, can’t wait to see more of your reactions!
Hey! I can't wait to see more Dreamcatcher! What a dope time to be exploring this music I feel so lucky lol.
Glad you love these girls...I really think you'll love this group. Try their trilogy....Scream..Boca and Odd Eye...
Dreamcatcher were the first K-pop group I ever heard, about 3 years ago. Before that, I only listened to rock / hard rock / metal (and occasionally Classical music) and I avoided "pop". I think the first song I heard from them was "Piri", and I was instantly hooked.
their bside rising has more of their classic rock vibe they did a stage to it i would highly recommend
(their dancing is always very impressive even from debut in 2017)
Im sure other insomnia have given you many a run down and suggestions, but Id check out the Dystopia trilogy (scream, boca, odd eye) and their apocalypse trilogy (maison, vision, bon voyage) for a good look into a few different styles they are probably more well known for.
their b-sides have almost every genre of music also, from pop-punk, to soft ballad, to metal, to r&b to jazz!
hope you have fun diving into the black hole that is dreamcatcher as once you enter you can never leave :)
edit: Id also add, 'Rising' from this newest album is amazing and worth a listen :) (they also have a live performance of this one - no dance but live vocals are amazing. again on the official dreamcatcher channel)

great reaction vid! i absolutely love metal (mostly nu-metal, and post hardcore) and dreamcatcher is my ult kpop group! they have a long and v huge discography as theyve been in the biz nearly a decade now so u rlly get to see their style evolve thorughout their careers. lost of fans refer to them as a rock kpop group since their first "series" of MVs and title tracks leaned heavily on jrock and synth rock as a whole but theyve over time only gotten more experimental in their sound and themes.
I love your reaction!! Pls check their song called 'Rising' it's so headbang worthy ✨
Dreamcatcher is amazing this is a different side of them watch their songs scream and odd eye and boca
I can't wait to see more of them, I know a lot of people are saying this isn't their typical song which just impresses me even more lol. They're dope!
This is the last song I would recommend to someone hearing them for the first time. It's such a farcry from their usual title tracks (but definitely not unusual for them to experiment with genres for B-sides). Highly recommend starting with their debut Chase Me (their leader JiU also recommends this to first-timers).
Dreamcatcher fandom name : InSomnia
With their B-Sides, they literally have SOMETHING for EVERYBODY because of all of the different genres they have included. :)
Yes, Dreamcatcher!
Finally! They were worth the wait - thank you for watching!
I follow them since their debut and they were more into rock and melodic metal but I find this is super close to industrial which I really like, last part sounds very ominous similar to bands like NIN or Kidneythieves
Rising live
Thanks!

Thanks gor checking out Dreamcatcher! I see youve already gotten a bunch of info so ill just say welcome to the rabbit hole.
Also, I really liked your edits at the bottom with the one liners. I got a good laugh out of those.
Haha thank you, just trying to do my own style. I am happy to be here, I have been loving meeting InSomnia!
Nice reaction and editing.. i would usually post a long a$$ comment introducing this group, but since there are already lots of insomnia (fandom name) introducing you to them, I'll just list down their discography (just their title tracks of singles/EPs/albums) in chronological order
NIGHTMARE SERIES :
-Chase Me (Debut) (2017)
-Goodnight (immediate continuation from Chase Me)
-Fly high (Prequel to Chase Me)
-You & I (strong connection from Fly High)
-What (Still trapped in the Nightmare in a different setting)
-Piri (it's a flute which JiU used to warn the rest about the danger they're in) (2019)

Wow, thanks! I have some homework to do! 😅
Break the wall and Don't light my fire-Dreamcatcher please
thankyou for checking them out and giving them a chance !! hope you'll enjoy the *bumpy* journey in an arc and several trilogy :D BON YOYAGE !
This was a lot of fun, I am excited for more. Stay tuned and thank you for watching!
What a song!!! Btw they have top tier b-sides you definitely have to check them out ❤
Oh don't worry, I will! Thank you for watching, more to come!
Aww heck yeah! I had a feeling this would be your first DC reaction lol! You are gonna love this journey and I cannot wait to see what DC mv you're gonna react to next! Thank you for this CR! ✌
Hey! Just like with WayV I know it too ka while for me to get to Dreamcatcher but wow it was worth it! Excited for more. Appreciate you!
I'm fking with that too
Haha yeah this whole vibe is very cool. Thanks for watching!
You definitely need to check them out more, I am sure you will like them :D
Once you go Dreamcatcher you never go back
Sounds good to me! Thank you for watching.
Oh, please listen more Dreamcatcher !
Hey, yeah I definitely will, keep an eye out!
It was probably already written in the comments, but check out rising from this EP. Think you might like it :) but any of the DC songs I awesome😊
Thank you for watching and for the recommendation!
Hammerfall guitar solo was in "No more".
A bit late to comment, but Try Dreamcatcher's "Black or White", a good message, but you will be impressed for other reasons!
I plan on covering a lot more Dreamcatcher so never too late! Thank you for watching and recommending, always appreciated.
just have to say that your editing is so fun! anyway welcome to dreamcatcher world! the comments says everything so i won't say anything about the group itself. i can recommendations tho! they do a lot of genders but the main base for everything stays rock:
for their harder side you should definitely listen to Endless Night, for a more rnb sound then Red Sun, for a more jazzy sound you can listen to Jazz Bar or Locked inside a door.
but yeah the best with dreamcatcher is to start from older to newest because every cb is in a storyline of 3 parts most of the time.
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoy it! I look forward to exploring this group, InSomnia has been so great!
By the way, you must check the albums (B-sides) by Dreamcatcher. You should be shocked. 😉 OOTD..Rising..Shatter..We are young. Just Masterpiece ! It is Dreamcatcher. Thanks.
I will be reacting to this EP! Stay tuned...
The girl with the blue hair is Yoohyeon, and the one with the black hair right afterwards is the leader Jiu. 🔥🔥
Thank you, I try to be a 'different' reactor lol. And thank you for telling me who they are. 😍 Oh and thank you for watching of course!
Fxxx outta my way 😭 I love that so much, the way she says it. Can't wait to see more - thank you, InSomnia has been so cool today!
I'll press subscribe and wait😊
I watched the OOTD Dance Practice and rest of the album here! ua-cam.com/video/kXfFW4jMfcE/v-deo.html
Congratulations on reaching 2.5K subs
Thank you so much!
check their other song "rising" from this album, it's a more classic Dreamcatcher song. check the live version if you can, live version is much better than sound track imo
Hey! IT wasn't the live version but I just dropped my reaction to OOTD dance practice and the EP here: ua-cam.com/video/kXfFW4jMfcE/v-deo.html
Glad I found your channel. Love your sense of humor and your creative editing!
Oh thank you very much. Just trying to do things my own way you know? Thanks for watching, glad to have you here!
you should check out the whole album. it´s super good
Sounds good to me! Thank you for watching 😊
WELCOME TO DREAMCATCHER WORLD...TY FOR REACT DREAMCATCHER. PLEASE REACT ALL THEY SONGS. THEY HAVE ALL GOOD SONGS. AND PLEASE GIVE THEY CHANCE TO UP TOO...
IF YOU NEW, I SUGGEST YOU START FROM THIS SONG:
1. SCREAM
2. BOCA
3. ODD EYE
THIS SONGS PART FROM 'Dystopia Trilogy Storyline'... Ty😊🇲🇾
Thank you, yes I'm new and I will be checking out more!
Thank you for watching and for sharing your thoughts!
dreamcatcher \:D/
check out more of their songs. all of their songs are different, but ootd is somewhat of an outlier
Yeah people have been saying this isn't their typical song - I like that! They have enough talent and range that they can branch out and still be this good? Sign me up! 🤩 Thanks for being here!
😎
Would love to see you check out the Nobody Knows MV by Kiss of Life, its the second song of the new EP after Bad News
You should react to Rising
Hey Thank you for watching. Funny you should mention that! I react to the rest of the EP here (just dropped today): ua-cam.com/video/kXfFW4jMfcE/v-deo.html
hello human
Hello!
I recommend you to check out pink fantasy poison
Thank you for watching and thank you for the recommendation!
I don't know why this song reminds me of the punk rock genre. I think it's a good song but not special. Without a music video, this song loses its appeal.
Unsubbing if you don't do more dreamcatcher!!!
Haha, well I guess I have to give the people what they want!
