I went to the “Bosely Group” up in Seattle in 1990. I had a hairline just like that guy. thank you very much for the video. When I chose a hair transplant clinic (in Turkey), I tried to avoid clinics that did an aggressive front line (which looks like a zigzag). And of course the front line is very important for the patient. I was offered to make the line 1 centimeter lower, but I asked to make it higher, and the doctor agreed. It is very important to discuss the front line with your doctor. Thanks!
The guy went to the gas station for sushi. If you are under 25 get on medication ( finasteride/minoxidil ) get a laser cap, derma roll, do what you can to delay surgery for as long as you can. Save your money and research extensively for the right clinic when the time comes. Hair loss is progressive and it’s a life long fight. If you must have surgery in your twenties do FUT. This informative doctor is right about donor supply and management. At such a young age exhaust your FUT before going FUE. Thank you Feller and Bloxham for this video.

Still looks natural enough to me with the 2/hair grafts. I would worry more about obsessing with this attention to details and the money willing to pay for such corrections, than the problem itself.
Great video Dr Bloxham... I'm normally not one to comment on anyone's video even if I love it but you brought up so many great points in this video that I unfortunately had to learn the hard way ... and if I could pay you only 1 compliment, I would say that after watching this entire video... If your talent and ability as a transplant physician was only half that of the code of ethics and ethical behavior that you project and convey throughout your video, I have a feeling that would still be more than plenty to put these other doctors to shame... I respect you keeping the video focused on educating and what to be cautious of in the most professional manner as I'm sure that just for the very fact that you had to make this video, I'm sure there are plenty of companies/doctors that you would just love to cut into and tear apart for casting a negative shadow over the field of medicine that you have dedicated yourself to and made your livelihood... I'm sure anyone else who has actually gone to a few consultations will agree with me when I say that it was extremely refreshing to sit through this video but also stings a little at the same time as anyone who has done a few consults and then ultimately had the procedure and paid $10,000 - $15,000+ looks back and realizes that most of or all the doctors that they saw had a code of ethics that would fall somewhere between a Lemon Lot Used Car Salesman and a self-righteous, glorified, overcharging tattoo artist ... Only instead, they have a doctorate in Medicine instead... I've never heard more doctors tell people only what the patient wants to hear in my life... sprinkled in with only a few carefully and extremely well-worded reality checks throughout the entire process... my personal favorite was being told that 8,000 grafts would be just a little short of what I wanted and that I would be back to the little bit that I lost if I went the next step up to 13-1400 grafts so of course I did it and then it wasn't until my post surgery visit that they told me that I will probably need to do 1 more round of that same procedure to be where I wanted to be... I was so livid... they seemed so reputable at first and then they pulled a complete 180 on me... Maybe you won't bad mouth any doctors or companies but I will... I had my procedure done at Bosley in 2012 ... I always had insanely thick hair but I noticed my hairline falling back just a little bit ( about 1/3rd to 1/2 the amount of the guy in your video ) ... I was more convinced that it had to do with stress as it started to happen just after coming home for good after serving in Iraq as a Special Operations Marine Scout Sniper... (not the stress of my experiences there, but coming home and adjusting to civilian life after having such a high profile job and no comparable opportunities here at home on top of other personal relationships ending) ... I looked into a few options and Bosley seemed to be the best at the time... I can definitely also say that I was a bit blinded by the fact that this wasn't done at Bosley, Anywhere USA ... I had my consult and procedure done in NYC at the Bosley Office in Manhattan and my transplant surgeon was Dr. Alpeter who just happened to be one of the Doctors who spoke the most in the Bosley TV commercials that were airing at the time (Besides Dr. Bosley himself) ... I was even given the option to schedule my Procedure with Dr. Bosley himself since it was Manhattan but having him do it would have made my same $11/12,000 dollar procedure that I paid be a medical bill of $30,000 just for him to do it (which was never going to happen)... I def had a false sense of security as I thought to myself " well, I'm sure I'm in good hands as I made sense of it in my head that of all their doctors, I'm sure they would choose one of their most capable ones to represent their brand and company on TV"... I should have walked out when he wouldn't listen to any of my input at all... I showed him a picture of me that was only 2 years old and showed him that my hairline had moved back maybe about 1/4" or so... it definitely wasn't even at 1/2" back... I always had an extremely straight hairline and it receded straight back so it wasn't like a "V" like the guy in the video... there was only extremely minor thinning by my temple but not noticeable... the only reason why I even notice that my hair moved back is because I still had a few baby hairs where the line used to be and my hairline was perfectly framed and exactly where my forehead starts to curve up to my skull ... I had lost a line there that was basically as thick as my pointer finger... it was the only reason that I came there and he kept arguing with me that it would look too juvenile and he would keep saying to me " you think you want that now but you have no idea what kind of hair style you will be wanting 10 or 15 years from now... I looked at him and said " do you not see the tattoos on my arms? They don't come off... I can sit here and tell you right now that how I wear my hair is never going to change.... I'm a U.S. Marine Doc... I fade my hair by my ears and the back of my neck and keep it 3-4 inches on top... thats the way its going to stay until they drop my casket in the ground and hand someone an American Flag... so can you please do what I'm asking for the $12,000 that I'm paying you and put my hair back to the way I've been used to wearing it for the last 13 years.... He finally halfway gives up and says " I come as close as possible... He completely disregarded me, he put in multiple strands in spots around my hairline like you were talking about... and my hair has been straight as an arrow my entire life... before those 2 years of heavy stress my hairline was flawless... not only did he not bring my line to exactly where I instructed, but he sparsely filled it out and you can tell it's weaker up front now ... when I said "that doesn't look like enough hair up front, he said " well, you had a spot on the top of your head that was a little smaller than a Quarter ($0.25) and it was right on your part so we thickened that up... I said " I never part my hair so why would you do that when all I wanted was the front fixed with 1400 graphs within a 5 inch x 0.25/0.40 inch area... and then if I wasn't angry enough for some guy doing whatever he felt like after being paid 11/12,000 bucks, the most aggravating was yet to come but I wouldn't know until my hair grew in... as I said, my hair was always straight and curved up and down towards my face my entire life... they must not have been careful or paying close attention when placing the donor strands because they placed the follicles with the hair curving to the side on the one side of my hairline so now (thank God it's not a big one but it's enough to make my blood boil) ... if it wasn't bad enough, they basically installed a tiny Cowlick up by my hairline so now everytime the hair grows out, I have to go through my hair with a fine tooth comb and separate the straight strands of my hair from the small patch of sideways curving hair and then I have to take a sharp pair of scissors and cut that small patch of hair down to the base of my scalp .. Honestly, if I could sue them for my money back I would.... and if I tried and they said no BUT they offered to fix what they fucked up for free, I don't think I would allow them to touch my head again... and it took years of rubbing Moderma Scar Cream into the side and back of my head to get the scar they left when they butchered my scalp to fade enough where it no longer looks like I had my skull cracked open in 2 places ... it would have been so much unnecessary trauma avoided had I found you as my doctor instead of walking into Bosley's Butcher Shop ... I would never suggest anyone go there... modern day snake oil salesman with scalpels and only want your money ... it was my first great lesson in business though... " Just because someone can afford to advertise the business on a grand scale on TV doesn't mean they're good... doesn't mean they're the best... it just means they have enough capital to pedal their garbage to the masses"... ...The industry needs more doctors like you... if you ever need a guinea pig to film and market yourself fixing the Big Dogs mistake, let me know Dr. B ... hahaha

12:54 completely disagree. UA-cam is absolutely filled with men getting FUE 2500+ hair transplants and it ends up perfectly fine. Saying that doctors who suggest doing over a 1500 FUE for a first transplant is a red flag is wrong imho.
I totally agree with Dr. Bloxham! When you exhaust the donor area with FUE, and you're under 30, then you will keep losing hairs on the top and from the top down at the back of the hair. By using FUT in the beginning, you still have a lot of donor area for doing FUE at a later stage, when you know HOW your hair loss will progress.
As long as there are reputable clinics in Turkey doing it for 1/10 of the price, this will continue to happen. If only there were a guide for reputable, overseas clinics. People cannot afford $30K
I had mine done in Turkey for literally 1/10 of the price and so far none of the red flags have been observed. The reason why world class surgeons in Turkey are cheap is not because they provide less quality, but because hourly labour cost is significantly lower than the US. With all respect, but even if I was a millionair, I would not drop 30k for 3k grafts.

Doc, I've managed to get pretty much 100% survival rates with FUE with 2 top surgeons in Spain. This conception of only 90% yield on FUE is a little outdated to me. I even got full growth on BHT (did two different 100 graft BHT tests) when some surgeons claim on 50% will take. With today's protocols, storing solutions (ATP) and extraction tools there is no reason for FUE to yield over 95% on the right hands on a virgin scalp with no scar tissue and proper blood supply. We have hundreds of cases on the Spanish forum by these surgeons where it looks like complete regrowth. I am not stating it will be the case with every patient but it is the norm with their work among us forum users.
Many years ago , hair transplant procedures were done with rounded hair punch and the end result look like tuffs of dolls hair because of the rounded appearance of the grafts ' When turf is transplanted to grow a garden lawn , the turf is cut into squares and not rounded shapes , In the past , it would have been better if the punches cut square shape for implants because squares shapes are easy for the edges to meet up and to look more natural . I think there is too much over reaction in this video because the hair grafts have grown which is the most important thing as hair density is very important for the final results. Once the hair grows longer and depending if the hair is combed backwards or forward would also make a difference to the final result . By looking at this video , the patients might only need to have some refinement surgery to the edges of the transplant but overall he is lucky he has got so much density from the transplant and he has not had a failure where the grafts have failed to grow at all .
Learned so much. Felt like I was in medical school. How I wish i lived closer. Any suggestions on what doctor or doctors perform this process as good as you here in California?

Why not for starters use the back hairline and upper neck as a donor area? Most guys with short hair trim/"shape-up" that area any way and guys with long hair its covered/not visible. Seems like a no brainer to me.

once the donor hair are uprooted, the whole hair - follicle included is gone. so the hair in the original place will never come back. Think of a hair transplant as reorganizing your hair locations. you are moving hair from more dense areas to lesser ones.

It would’ve been great if examples of these “sudden hair transplant clinics” were given and to differentiate the true professionals, like yourself, from the ones your client unfortunately encountered.
Damn that doctor looks good. His Hairline, jawline and face with his eyebrows. Lucky guy. Either early fin or not bothered by androgenetic hairloss at all
Hello, I was wondering how the consultation is. How realistic can you get over photos etc, since I live in Europe. Q2: Is there possible to pull out the neck hair and place them the other way, since I also have a cowlick neckline that is very irritating.
I think that the guy in question looked so much better with his buzz-cut which if he had kept would have saved him a lot of angst and a lot of money - anyone else agree?
Dr Blake, Thank you taking your time for helping all of us in the hair loss situation. I learned a lot and wanted to know can it really be determined in a person what the underlying cause of hair loss is in that one patient, before it comes to a transplant. I tried Rogain some years ago and it did NOTHING. Does PRP, or other procedures work and do you do any type for people with different types of hair loss? I feel that my hair loss is mainly stress caused by an accident in 2007 being told at the local hospital that I could go back to work and then finding out I had a meniscus roll in the right knee and the tendons torn loose in my hand and today in 2021 I still need more surgery. Then my attorney never took action so my W.C.case has set for years now. Way too much stress that no one should ever have. Do you think I am right? Thank you again for doing this video !!!
Yes PRP does work ! Get on Finasteride and Rogan too but if you can, definitely get a transplant. Don’t be nervous or freaked out. Do your research and I’m here to answer anything if I can 👊
As well as the multis a big issue not mentioned Its the pitting and the difference in skin texture thicker and then the slightly sunken holes where the area was worked on , i take it that happens when to much tissue around the graft when inserted ? My transplant looks a lot lol this one. A shit ton of multis in the hairline, black dots, and a lack of density, I’m at 6.5 months I I still see growth, so it may improve on that a bit, and it is not as low and the design of the hairline is very good, it looks straight but is subtly irregular both in overall shape and in microirregularities, so it’s not too bad, as well as my hair being very fine, the multies are not as coarse and pluggy looking. But if it turns out not dense enough I’m definitely going for a repair aiming to soften the hairline and packing more overall, and I think it’s gonna be perfectly fine.
Does having darker hair and darker skin truly help with perceived density I'm naturally tan with dark black thick hair. Hoping I'm a good doner when I can afford this
it's all about contrast. Black letters on a white background read easier for a reason (because there is a lot of contrast). So with the hair you want as little contrast as possible, so that the thinner area does not attract attention
I wouldn't touch any patient below 30 for a hair transplant because experience tells me that many of those guys have often aggressive hair loss within the next decade.
Isn’t it a little unfair to look at this 6 months out to judge the other clinics work? Yes there are two hair grafts in his hairline. I’m assuming he is not coming to you for repair work until at least a year after his first transplant?
Absolutely. I did try to mention this in the video. I would not fully evaluate, or "judge," the result until at least 12 months, but maybe even 18. Having said that, however, there is some evidence that this will not be "up to par" which we reviewed in the video. Thank you for watching and commenting. -- Dr Bloxham
@@Dave-wl1hy It takes a year to have the full results grow out after a hair transplant. So to critique a transplant after six months, when we know we’re not dealing with the full result, is unfair to the first doctor.

And ain’t no one learning in one day or on just one person, we are talking hundreds of people that you some how convinced them to basically sacrifice their head so you could become as good as what you are as doing this
Hey.... tank you for the reaction.... you great.. Can I send you pic of my hair transplant and know what you think?? Please 🙏. Even if not great reaction man.
This man in the photo is going to have real problems with his new hair line. You can see that his corners on the side of his head are receding which is indicative of substantial loss on the top in front. In fact, you can see that behind the donor area at the front of his head he has typical MPB thinning in a straight line across his temples with diffuse thinning in the crown. This man is likely going to be a Norwood 6 by the time hes into his 30's and there is no way he will have the donor hair to rectify this ridiculously low hair line hes been given. This type of hair line is good for men in their 40's who have minimal hair loss overall, particularly when it is specific to the crown/horseshoe area with mild to moderate recession in the corners.
@@andriizakrevskyi5335 it depends on your hairloss and predicted rate of acceleration. For some young people losing it early and fast, the best remedy is to deal with it and if you can't, use a hair system.
Many patients need refinements after the first surgery , the patient in the photo has got good density from the first surgery and the hairs are actually growing , some hair transplant surgery can be a complete failure where the grafts don't grow at all . The patient only needs some refinements to the edges and possibly some more hair transplant surgery in the future but the first hair transplant surgery was not a complete failure and if he combed his hair forward inside of backwards , it would be almost impossible to see any faults with the surgery .
excellent advice given here, FUT strip is still the gold standard and young patients should have it to start with, I had two FUTs over a period of 5 years and by the time I came to having a third and final touch in I had plenty hair to harvest for an FUE, and crucially my grafts were prepped under a microscope, that is very important because if your grafts are not prepped under a microscope you hair will end up looking like the dreaded dolls hair plugs, like a 1970s pluggy transplant, and you don't want that at all!!
The surgeon wanted to go natural hairline I wasn't happy so went a bit straighter using more grafts at front but crown only got 600 will need more hope It works out
Mine doesn’t look the exact same as the original, but it sure beats being bald and your average person not familiar with all this doesn’t know all this. I honestly don’t care if people know I got a hair transplant, the few that actually could tell are most likely ones who got it themselves.

thank you very much for the video.
Thanks!
which clinic did you coose and were you happy? thanks

Where Is the clinic located? Who are the surgeons?

Excellent video for explanation not to have a mistake. on hair transplant thank you for all the adevices that you give in this video
Many years ago , hair transplant procedures were done with rounded hair punch and the end result look like tuffs of dolls hair because of the rounded appearance of the grafts '
When turf is transplanted to grow a garden lawn , the turf is cut into squares and not rounded shapes , In the past , it would have been better if the punches cut square shape for implants because squares shapes are easy for the edges to meet up and to look more natural .
Definitely coming to you when I decide to do this surgery.

Very informative video! I wished I watched it before doing my HT. So far my hairline looks fine I don't see many multi hair grafts in the front.

Whats your opinion on diffused thinners?? I've been to really good clinics that do both fut and fue and they all recommend fue?
how much do you charge Dr Blake for a proper FUE transplant procedure ? Thanks
How far back in the hairline can a clinic begin using multiples?
How can they be sure they are only implanting one hair grafts in the front of the hairline if they aren't using microscopes?
Why the need for recurring transplant? If you always have growing donor hair on sides and that's what's being transplanted on top
once the donor hair are uprooted, the whole hair - follicle included is gone. so the hair in the original place will never come back. Think of a hair transplant as reorganizing your hair locations. you are moving hair from more dense areas to lesser ones.
ive seen some pictures that are sooo gross, each graft looks either like raised skin, bump or maggot sooooo gross... usually a dark skin patient. i did an fue, but mine looks just like a bad shaving,(small pimple like with hair which is the blood scab. no raised skin or anything. i did not do any homework before jumping in the decision. i just went to the only clinic that was near where i live....

But then also ive have see the reverse in pimple pitting , like follicles coming out of a milk spots , is it a depth issue on the later ?

What are your thoughts on hair of Istanbul? This video makes me concerned about their potential quality..
Doc and guys, do you think masturbation has anything to do with hair loss?
I wouldn't touch any patient below 30 for a hair transplant because experience tells me that many of those guys have often aggressive hair loss within the next decade.
The pattern of hairloss will be the horseshoe regardless that's why you start with fut 👍

Absolutely. I did try to mention this in the video. I would not fully evaluate, or "judge," the result until at least 12 months, but maybe even 18. Hi, I have a quick question am on day 7 post HT op, and I was wondering does slight bleeding with scabs falling mean a dislodgment of graft?
Mohamed Sobol bleeding may be an issue but scabs falling is pretty normal
@@AndreeBZ Thanks man for your response! I heard two different opinions which are slight bleeding from the removal of scabs is not a problem, and now your opinion! I think if it's excessive bleeding then it's a problem!
Hi Mohamed. Sorry for the late reply, but highly doubtful on day 7. The grafts are pretty well "locked in" starting day 4. -- Dr Bloxham
Thank you a lot doctor! Am also sorry for my late reply. Just saw it today!
So you did that’s 70s show and still went and became a doctor? 🤯
I have the same problem, hairline is dark and thick, and the other natural hair now are is thin, look very weird
Hi! I have a hair transplant. After how much time is it good to have the second transplant? Thanks

We can put a drone on Mars, but we still can't clone a follicle? Seriously? SERIOUSLY?!
Seems to me that a good compromise is FUE + scalp micro pigmentation. And as with scalp micro pigmentation, it's all in the artist and you're left to fend for yourself to figure out which ones are bad, good, better, and best. Good luck with that. That being said, this guy sounds like he really knows what he's talking about, although he looks straight out of med school. Show us that hairline, Blake. Is it natural or aftermarket? :D
Does it mean if somebody needs 4 000 grafts, he would go at least for 3 surgeries?
Had a date with a girl once, she said I only date guys with single grafts on the hairline, multi just doesnt cut it. Said noone ever...
Lol-
My hairline is almost the same as this gentleman.. just not quite as bad any suggestions or estimates
I just had my second Fut transplant done by Dr. Scott Alexander here in Phoenix…..on this second procedure he did a dense pack hairline and thickened up my top middle area with 2300 grafts….I showed him a few pics from this video and he responded with the exact same thing u said in this video…Amazing how most top notch hair restoration docs think alike….😊👍 All the best…J
Reflex HyperAndrogenety. Dr. Can you please talk about this. Is it common? Can Finasteride cause it? Im ok with a " normal shed ". But a hardcore shed that can accelerate your hair loss its too much for me. Im thinking in jumping on Finasteride but im really apreensive because of this.
It shouldn’t be your first concern in regards to Finasteride
Im definitely going to see you in a year my fue transplant for my hairline!
Brian
Brian did you get it done yet ?
@@EddieSpaghetti07 he said in a year fool, he posted that last month
same here ... on my journey here
I beliv ths is the best Hair transplant anybdy can ever do ..... as this was the 1st session ,, he has the best results ... 2nd session csn help him blend well ... if not micro needling
Dr Bloxham , the most obvious question to ask is HOW THE FUCK DID YOU LEARN TO DO THIS ?
I mean there had to be a time when you had never done this operation before , when you were as useless as any of us at doing this operation
Seriously, what the fuck did you say to your first ever client to convince them that it was ok to let you practice on their head when you were just starting out ?
And ain’t no one learning in one day or on just one person, we are talking hundreds of people that you some how convinced them to basically sacrifice their head so you could become as good as what you are as doing this
Thank you!
If i could do 3 k grafts with bloxham for 8000$ instead of 2000$ in turkey i would do it right away.
But 13-15 k …no
Hey.... tank you for the reaction.... you great..
Can I send you pic of my hair transplant and know what you think??
Please 🙏.
Even if not great reaction man.
Way so much grafts?
In this age it's just not necessarily.
This type of hair line is good for men in their 40's who have minimal hair loss overall, particularly when it is specific to the crown/horseshoe area with mild to moderate recession in the corners.
what would you recommend to him to do initially not to screw it up? what are the best solutions for the yongsters?
@@andriizakrevskyi5335 it depends on your hairloss and predicted rate of acceleration. For some young people losing it early and fast, the best remedy is to deal with it and if you can't, use a hair system.
@@professorkaos2781 what hair system talking about exactly?
Many patients need refinements after the first surgery , the patient in the photo has got good density from the first surgery and the hairs are actually growing , some hair transplant surgery can be a complete failure where the grafts don't grow at all .
The patient only needs some refinements to the edges and possibly some more hair transplant surgery in the future but the first hair transplant surgery was not a complete failure and if he combed his hair forward inside of backwards , it would be almost impossible to see any faults with the surgery .
So are you saying these issues are less likely with dhi method?
Has Dr Feller had a transplant himself? Just wondering.
Do also deal with African American hair because I live in south africa and the seem reluctant because of the nature of the hair
excellent advice given here, FUT strip is still the gold standard and young patients should have it to start with, I had two FUTs over a period of 5 years and by the time I came to having a third and final touch in I had plenty hair to harvest for an FUE, and crucially my grafts were prepped under a microscope, that is very important because if your grafts are not prepped under a microscope you hair will end up looking like the dreaded dolls hair plugs, like a 1970s pluggy transplant, and you don't want that at all!!
Sir, I have question!! Do you use finasteride+minoxidil as treatments to maintain your results post-op?
Hi ...how much do u charge for fue?for early 30s male...I want to know the price difference between here and Turkey
Don’t go to Turkey!
@@MAli-zg6qg for the love of god DO NOT GO TO TURKEY
@@MAli-zg6qg why? You are incredibly biased to suggest someone to spend thousands more on a fairly standardised procedure.
I got 3,300 in front and 700 in crown will need more hairplants later im 38 hope I've enough donor hair left for top
The surgeon wanted to go natural hairline I wasn't happy so went a bit straighter using more grafts at front but crown only got 600 will need more hope It works out
I would love to get in plan like that
Mine doesn’t look the exact same as the original, but it sure beats being bald and your average person not familiar with all this doesn’t know all this. I honestly don’t care if people know I got a hair transplant, the few that actually could tell are most likely ones who got it themselves.
Not just my way
Hi sir my problem also like this pls help me i want only remove Transplant hair its possible
