After moving into this new-build 16 years ago, Ariene - the owner of a vintage décor, art, and lighting brand Dressing Rooms Interiors - transformed it into a personalized oasis bursting with vibrant colors and patterns.
As a collector of busts and faces, Ariene has dispersed such antiques passed down through generations and collected over the years in every corner. Her love for animals, too, shines through the various statues sprinkled throughout the whimsy yet modern space.

To everyone who commented yesterday that beige is boring, well, where are you now? LOL I really loved how she repurposed some things, like the Dim Sum cart for storage and how she dresses the statues! My favorite part of the tour was definitely the kitchen. The way she styled the countertops took look so layered and beautiful. The kitchen updates she made to her builder grade home seem very doable and inspiring projects for me to take on. I appreciate her sharing her ideas!
I don’t think anyone would describe her home as beige 😂 beige is boring if it’s the only color way used, she has texture, color, pattern all on a neutral base. Most people have the same beige walls on carpet on furniture and claim they love neutrals. There’s more neutrals than off white

I love the story of the "spirit picture" over the spirits! She summed up their home in one word... FUN! There are so many elements of surprise, touches of whimsy, mixtures of color, patterns and textures. It would be such a great experience to have her as a designer. She makes her own rules! Her husband must be a great partner for her. I love the way she talks about him and includes him in her stories. I used to have the horse painting (on silk) that is in her powder room. I inherited it from my parents, and enjoyed it while I was its caretaker. I'd love to see the lamp shades she's designed. I imagine they're incredible.Thanks for this amazing tour! ♥️

I first discovered Ariene two years ago after which I was so impressed by her home that I created a playlist where her video is my #1 of interior design. Which led me to her online store, Dressing Room Interiors. The site is so well done that I have since procured items from her store. In addition, I have bought both books where her home was showcased. I was so excited to see her home today on Homeworthy as this Homeworthy tour gives a more in depth look into her home and design process. Moreover I want to thank your videographer for the lighting and the angles. For this video shows her home in all its richness of color and allows the viewer to appreciate every inch and color of her beautiful home. I also like her soulful explanation of her home and how she approaches design. Explaining how she edits and how her stylish and curated home is always evolving. Plus as some who also lost my mother and great grandmother, I can relate how their interior design style impacted my own and treasure items that I have from them displayed in my home. I loved this home!!! Although it's not my style, who cares? That is what I enjoy about this channel is seeing other people's styles and how they incorporate their own ideas into their homes. I want to see different styles and not just homes that look the way mine does. I just adored the banquet in the office, the roll top desk as a bar and I loved the kitchen and the sentiment of displaying family photos so you feel like you're cooking with family. That was so sweet and genuine. I also enjoyed how the busts were dressed (so fun!!) and how the TV was actually displayed, but beautifully Incorporated with her photography ❤ So many great ideas packed into this home and I just love that it is full of personality! Thank you, Ariene, for inviting us in for a tour. ❤

Wow…I wish I could LOVE this video. That light blue in her living room just added so much serenity and balance to all of her collectibles. I absolutely loved her stories behind her pieces. The story about the legally blind woman and how she was an integral part of the woman becoming an full fledged artist…how beautiful. I also enjoyed how the homeowner presented her home and style so gracefully. From this video, I’m inspired to paint my dated banister black (keep the white spindles as she has). I also loved the homeowner’s beautiful hair and animal prints in her attire and of course all of the animal prints throughout her home. Thank you Homeworthy! This was a treat!!!

She seems like a very sweet person. I love the black & white pillows on the sofa and absolutely love the dalmatian dogs art! She has so many great pieces. I'm kind of a minimalists, but I really enjoyed the tour of her home. She put everything together so well.

Looks like a store! Love her love of color, art and books! I’ve never seen so many cabinets used for storage. They are all over the place. And she still says she doesn’t have storage. The entryway/foyer is crowded because of the giant cabinet. My favorite area is the wall in the living room with the long custom cabinet and the photographs. Least favorite is the bust laying on the kitchen table. She’s a lovely homeowner who honors her mom, grandmother and family by displaying their pieces and photos! I live in Charlotte too and my crib is also Asian and African partially due to family heirlooms and inherited pieces. My theory is middle-class Blacks through the 50's to 80's loved chinoiserie and it rubbed off on us. Thanks for encouraging me to do more in my already maximalist space. Life is short, we should go big in our homes.

I strongly admire her eclecticism and brave, unabashed use of color throughout her living space. Maximalists possess a level of creativity and artistry that intrigues me profoundly. As a French speaker, I find myself becoming somewhat irked by the often mispronounced word, "Voila." Native English speakers tend to use a non-existent 'w' and say "Wa-la." "Vwa-la" would be the appropriate phonetic reference. Not hearing the 'v' is a pet-peeve for me. I am being particular, however. This woman comes across as highly intelligent, cultured, well-traveled, and her exceptionally well-decorated Home is a reflection of her many impressive qualities. 🖤
