- 1. Warning! USB Hubs can Kill your MacBook M1
We will get to Apple’s BigSur late Feb 2021 11.2.2 fix for USB power computer destruction problems later in this article but for now, here is the background of the issues as of February 2021.
There have been plenty of reports of MacBook M1 systems being bricked (control boards killed, no display, end of MacBook!) by using USB 3 multiport hubs and USB 3 screens that actively power the Macbook through the same USB-C connection.
The evidence for this is beyond speculation and I think M1 owners should be especially cautious. Here are a couple of credible references.

To my knowledge there is no list of good or bad USB hubs and this all feels like a game of Russian roulette. General wisdom dictates that you should avoid charging/powering your MacBook from such devices until we know this issue is fixed. Use the hub by all means, but have the MacBook power it up and only power up using the Apple PSU power cable coming into directly into the second port on the M1 13”.
From my research I have concluded that Thunderbolt hubs do not cause the problem. This is can be confusing as Thunderbolt 3 and USB 3 protocols both run on the same physical USB-C connector found on the side of the MacBook. MacBook M1s have USB-C physical connections that are USB4 compliant and can therefore speak to either Thunderbolt 3 or USB3 devices and be powered by them.
My goto reference for understanding USB 2, 3, 3.1, 3.2, Gen1, Gen2 and Thunderbolt 2 and 3 (!!!) is here:
appleinsider.com/articles/20/...
Some may have seen my M1 Air vs M1 Pro comparison video ( • MacBook Air M1 vs MacB... ) when I discuss the Brydge Stone Pro Hub. This is a Thunderbolt 3 device and thus has a different power management protocol which we think is immune to the “brick my M1) problem as the power management specs for Thunderbolt are tighter than USB. I still wanted to upgrade to MacOS BigSur 11.2.2 just in case.
2. The 11.2.2 Upgrade
Apple themselves state this for the 11.2.2 update:
macOS Big Sur 11.2.2
macOS Big Sur 11.2.2 prevents MacBook Pro (2019 or later) and MacBook Air (2020 or later) models from incurring damage when they are connected to certain third-party, non-compliant powered USB-C hubs and docks.
So, they are implying that the bricking was caused by “bad, naughty” hubs and docks, yet this is a problem they can fix on the M1 itself…. Ok…... Who are we to argue?… let’s update to be safe….
3. Logic Pro in Rosetta is Now Broken
Opps.
Readers will know that I have done extensive testing with Logic Pro running third party plugins from Waves, Liquidsonics, FabFilter and Softube. See

I made all of this super reliable by running Logic in Rosetta mode (Do an info on the Logic application package in Finder and tick the Rosetta box). Although this is theoretically sub-optimal for the Logic code part of the DAW, the non-native plugins (most of them are still not translated over to M1 (Feb 2021)) became happier talking to a Rosetta translated Logic speaking the same language on the intel side of the fence.
This made all of my “stuff” work. No crashes, great performance. Brilliant.
… Except now, after the 11.2.2 update, Logic in Rosetta mode shows you a bunch of ghostly blank screen windows. You can create the most basic session with one audio track and it is all very broken on the display side.
I was about to reach for the Time Machine backup and go back to 11.2.1… but on a hunch I tried turning Rosetta mode off for Logic. I was expecting Crash City again as this never worked well before but to my surprise, it all runs fine! My most complex sessions load and run well.
Something has been broken yes, but something has been fixed also. Logic in M1 Native code is now much happier dipping in and out of Intel coded plugins.
So I am going to stick with 11.2.2 and see what happens next….

If your Rosetta option disappears on Logic after an update, we have a fix for that confirmed: Do the following::
1. Navigate to /system/library/CoreServices
2. Run the "Rosetta 2 Updater" application found within
3. Delete the Logic application and reinstall it.

Another great informative video thanks.keep up the great work.it’s probably a blessing apple have been slow to bring out the new IMac so I can learn from all of this.(using a ten year old iMac at the moment)
This makes a good case for a separate magsafe fast charging supply, instead of depending on usbc for everything, and effectively losing one of your two ports when you charge.
We want MagSafe - the people have spoken
thank you , I had kernel panic on my M1 , just had the logic board replaced , they are pointing at 3rd party apps , but I noticed that it did not play nice with some tb hubs, the owc 14 port tb3 hub,
Maybe Apple should just release computers with a decent selection of ports. Talk about a 1 step forward, two steps backward design philosophy.
Is the original apple adapter better than the Satechi one (also sold on the official apple website)? Or is it the same?
I plan to use it to charge my new macbook air m1.

Hi Mark! Was this problem effectively fixed? I'm a new owner of one of these and need a usbc hub to be able to use the mac as a workstation, thing is im afraid of breaking it. thanks in advance
First time viewer. Liked what you presented (even though I'm not using BigSur nor a video editor), so I subscribed. I am interested in docks so it's good to know of potential issues. Is this issue only related to M1 Macs using BigSur or does one see similar issues with Intel Macs and/or previous versions of OS? Any experience with docks on iPad Pro?
Thanks again. Looking forward to future revelations from you.
Hi Tim. Everything I had read was concerning M1 MacBooks in terms of the USB hub issues. Also we see no reports of Thunderbolt hubs causing problems like this so this is probably a better bet. I use the Brydge Stone Pro. As this is an M1 issue then it can only be Big Sur we are looking at here. I do have an old iPad Pro but I do not dock it with anything so I cannot help you here.
@@MarkPayneAudio Thanks for your response.
The current issue is about M1 Macs. But issues of bricking with the wrong dock/USB-C cable have been reported for years with the Intel Macs (and PC laptops as well)
I wonder if this relates to the issue I seem to be having with Mainstage , my 'Hammond Organ' plugin from NI and my patch file. The only wa y the patch will run is if I run MS 3.4.4 downloaded illegally. My only workaround on MS 3.5.3 was to create a whole new patch file from scratch, minus the Hammond plugin.
Hi Mark! thanks for another helpful video.
1. I understood that the problem with the Hubs is only when you power the Macbook through them, right?
2. Also, I use third party plugins, I'm on OS 11.2 (Not 11.2.2) , Logic 10.6.1 and I have a question: Can I open logic in native mode for better results or keep opening through rosetta?
1. Yes .... 2. there _may_ be a slight advantage having Logic in native mode when hosting Rosetta plugins (non translated) but I think this is small beans. We all started running Logic under Rosetta too as the interface/communication to the Rosetta plugins seemed to be much more reliable this was. Stable Logic. However.. in 11.2.2 we are finding that native logic is playing much more nicely with Rosetta plugins so why not, run it native.
Big Sur rendered 3 freshly installed volumes on a 2014 Mac Mini completely unbootable simultaneously. Files on old drive were gone. Luckily not a production machine. The disks are fine. Just no volume to boot from. Now I`m happy with 10.15... I`ve done a lot of system upgrades but never seen something as severe as Big Sur...
Ouch!
Is it possible that you already have the Rosetta translation cached? What happens if you install a new plug-in, or update an existing one?
Could you do a new MacBook Pro review to see if 16gb vs 32gb of Ram matter with Logic and plugins?
Hi, as I'm looking at a hub I'm concerned that the 2 port hub will put excessive physical/mechanical strain on the MacBook ports if the hub itself is connected to many things.. like hdmi and usb cables..
Does the hub sit flash to the table once inserted into the mac or is it hanging from it?
Interesting and helpful video, Mark. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful! Thanks Pierre

@@MarkPayneAudio Yes, and the security issues as well...
I’m taking delivery of my M1 Mac Mini next week so sorry if this is a stupid question. But when you refer to now running Logic in Native and plug-ins in Rosetta, how do I get plugins to run in Rosetta? Does that just happen or must I enable something for that to happen? Since I’m going to be building this new Mini from scratch and installing all my plugins fresh again, your guidance has been invaluable and will no doubt save me much time and angst! Cheers
Hi Krinkl. That will just happen. Any intel based code that is run on an M1 system will seamlessly run under the Rosetta 2 translator. You don't have to do anything and you have no choice. The choice comes when a developer re-writes code for M1, they can then compile this effectively twice providing both the M1 and Intel versions of the programme. You can then chose which version you run. This is the "Rosetta" flag that you can turn on if you do an "info" on the programme file.
@@MarkPayneAudio Alrighty then! Thanks so much. I shall give it a go and let you know how it goes with my plugins including some that I haven’t seen mentioned such as Modo Bass and Addictive Drums. I’m very curious as to how virtual instruments such as these perform.

I actually had to do a complete format of my Macbook Pro last week (after having had Big Suhr on it for about a week)... Big Suhr simply got worse and worse in terms of stability... I'm happy back at macOS Catalina.
I am back at Mojave on my studio system. I dont generally ride the front of the macOS wave but unfortunately with the latest hardware, we really have to, especially when you consider why 11.2.2. came about.
Is the ugreen hub safe for macbook?
So once again, thanks Mark!

This is happening to my 2013 Mac Pro. If I use the Hub and hit the switch (change over my mouse and monitors to my editing computer) my mac pro will shut down and keep shutting down. Only happened one upgrading to Big Sur.
Ouch!
Well done for finding this issue and getting it right. What about Apple? Does Apple issue any info or report about it?, this is so Windows bugs mode behavior.
I think 11.2.2 was rushed out of the door to sort the USB issue.
Update:
I downloaded the update for the new Mac, using the 8 in 1, just the Ethernet no charging, all good.
But I’m still reluctant to charge through it.
How about using an 8 in 1 hub, to plug to the Ethernet via RJ45, will that kill the laptop, need to download the update. Thank you
Hey mark, thanks for your vid, i have a question, i want to use a hub only for HDMi to connect for the tv and to put USB keys, do you think it's safe, if yes do you recommend me to buy the apple hub ? the one you show in the vid. Thanks in advance
Thats should be fine. I think it is best to power the MacBook directly rather than via the hub. Also with the update you would be ok anyway.
@@MarkPayneAudio thanks Mark :)
I have been using older Anker Anker 7-Port USB 3.0 Data Hub (powerd) for 6 months, yesterday I could not log in to my m1 mac mini account, because the keyboard atached to it randomly typed some stuff. I had to disconnect the hub and use recovery mode. Weird stuff.
Hi! 2 questions.
1. Is this m1 of 8 or 16 g ram?
2. Does the logic pro plug ins good enought to just mix with these plug ins? Or You don't like it? I AM asking because i AM new in logic
Hi 1. I use both 8GB and 16GB systems for Logic. If you look at my videos I have one showing the difference between 8GB and 16GB systems. 2. Logic internal plugins will get you going. Don't let buying plugins get in your way. The logic compressors and EQ are great. I use Softube Console 1 because it improves my workflow. This would be my main plugin of choice. Then I have added other things over time. But none of this stops you learning and making a start.
So, what I can understand is - the problem was related to software. Not the hardware. Am I right?
@Mark Payne. I have a question. I noticed that when you laugh your 3rd p. plugins are very snappy, rather on my 16 ram 1 tb MacMini when I launch Arturia virtual synths, or Waves (especially,) I still have few seconds before the GUI of the plugins is completely displayed? Any hint? THX again. Alexia.

Thank you for the info! Have you updated to 11.2.3? I no longer even see the option for "Open in Rosetta" and the folks at Apple told me this shouldn't be an option, but I don't think this is true and could possibly be a glitch in the update. Either way, some plugins are now rendered useless...
Not yet. Some people reported missing Rosetta option once the update to 11.2.2 was complete also. For me it is still here. Its just that I am now choosing to run Logic native as this eliminates screen bug I detailed in the video and now I am finding that Native Logic is working very well with my legacy plugins.
@@MarkPayneAudio Thanks! Just responding here for others with the same issue. After speaking with Apple support for about an hour, you have to update Rosetta 2 via /System/Library/CoreServices. Then uninstall and reinstall Logic. The Rosetta option reappears after that. Not sure why it went away...
That is superb info! Thank you Kimberly.
but the issue is only when pluggin power sector on the hub right? cause in my case I only use usb-hub for external monitor and usb/usb-c extra ports; but I only power my machine with the second native port

Hello Mark, thanks for the video. Unbelievable. I just ordered today a macbook air with 16GB and 1TB SSD to make sample based music. why do you think those plug-in companies are taking it slow to make their products compatible with the M1? It's been April already.
Its not that easy especially if they're optimized to intel arch and using intel assembly. Also there is the problem of keeping both versions in sync and not breaking one for the other. Number of M1 users are probably still very small for the companies to justify the expenditure.
If we see a M1 iMac, things can change depending on its success. (I hope)
Hi. Thanks for this video, very intriguing that I have been living dangerously this whole time and didn’t even know it.
I got my M1 MBP in late December, and have always been powering it through an Anker PowerExpand Plus Hub, using Apple’s power supply connected to it.
I didn’t know this was a bad thing to do.
I’m also a Logic user, and haven’t noticed the ghosting with 11.2.2 either, but that doesn’t mean anything.
I’m totally blind so if the screen is indeed looking weird, I’d never have known it. If the projects are playing which they are, and if I can access all plugin parameters using VoiceOver as I always do, I’d be absolutely none the wiser.
I’m going to have to ask my wife or kids if there is something strange happening on screen now, as you’ve gotten me curious.
I appreciate your videos and explanations, so thanks, and keep up the good work.
Andre... OMG, how do you do this stuff blind? You are a total genius! None of us realised that this was a bad thing to do... till it became a bad thing to do!
I have just subscribed to your channel. I am humbled. Love you already. Mark..... Just playing the Lockdown sessions now.
@@MarkPayneAudio Thank you so much. I found your videos as soon as I’d purchased my M1 Mac, and watched in awe as you showed how the M1 just owned a Logic session.

I’m thinking of waiting for M1X now, and getting a 16GB version, at the moment I have the 8GB MBP and it’s fine, but if it’s running for a long period of time, then Midi instruments tend to get a bit crunchy. Haha.
In one of your videos though, you mentioned that running the transport and stopping it kind of reset the CPU and it would behave again. Such a simple fix and yet so crutial to know.
You have all the thanks from me. :)
@@TheOnjLouis You made my day to know that I can help in the production of talented live musicianship. It's what I have dedicated my career to. I have this dream of a post covid garden party in the summer and your music is going to be all over it!
@@MarkPayneAudio Wow, let’s do this!
I’m all up for a party.
I realised that yesterday, March 7, was the one-year anniversary of my last in-person gig.
I’ve been gigging online since August, but being around actual people on a stage banging tunes? No. I miss that.
Thankfully I found some software that enables me to do this still so it’s not been the end of the world, but music is my life, so being unable to play with people was seriously depressing for a while.
A post-pandemic party sounds like just the reason to have a live band and make some proper choons!
I actually gig with Logic, have been doing that for 5 years now.
Sold most of my hardware rig in-favour of a Mac and software instruments.
It’s been the best time of my gigging life.
So would it be fair to say that all’s well that ends well? Should one buy an M1 machine, a third party USB hub, and be happy and all that. If I may ask, does the USB hub also take the charger. Avoided laptops all my life, hence a bit clueless. Oh and thanks for such a useful practical video.
You would be safer off with a Thunderbolt hub. Check out the Brydge Stone Pro. We think the power specs for Thunderbolt are tighter and no-one has reported an M1 failure using these to my knowledge. Yes, this hub comes with its own PSU and this is beefy enough to power the hub and power/charge the M1 back through the single connection cable.

Mayeb Apple could release a Rosetta 2 update next?
Can you run Live 11 in Rosetta 2 mode? On my macbook pro M1 the CPU meters stays consistently at 6-7% and acting weird. I didn't plug any external soundcard in at the moment of test, any idea if it will run better with RME drivers? I'm trying to narrow it down in regards to the weird performance behavior.

I have been using my M1 MBP 8GB and a Dell P2721Q external monitor for about 2 weeks. Both are brand new, and since the first full day of use, I have been experiencing some flickering/ghosting, especially on the external monitor (sometimes on the MBP display as well). @@MarkPayneAudio Thank you very much, Mark! I have watched the video and applied the knowledge:) it seems that for whatever reason Logic’s thread 8 spikes every single time no matter the load then it stabilizes. I can run this way 21 instances of Omnisphere at the CPU load sits at 27% ... pretty phenomenal for such a small machine... So, if I use one UCB-C exclusively for charging, and the other for a hub, it should be fine, right?
Yes
I appreciate your videos.. Apple seems to rush things out. Many of my 3rd party VI's are still not compatible, When you're constantly on the 'cutting edge' you will bleed...
This seems to be the way!
Not sure that you can blame Apple for 3rd party plugins not being updated. This has been the case for years, and there are a number of 3rd party developers who seem to take ages to update their plugins to newer versions of the OS. If at all. This is one reason why for "mission critical" apps and production, never rush into major upgrades until you KNOW your 3rd party apps/plugins have been updated to the version of the OS that you want to run.
Businesses always do this. I worked in IT support at an international bank, in their London base, and they were ALWAYS conservative (with a small "c") about updates being thoroughly checked for compatibility before releasing them to the working machines. So they were always "behind the curve" with versions of the OS (and Java etc. etc) by some time, as reliability was of paramount importance. Especially where potentially large sums of money were concerned.
BAsic Rule:- ALWAYS check to see if 3rd party stuff is listed as updated on the developers website BEFORE making any major updates to your system.
@@timbeaton5045 The M1 system was always going to be a ride. Not sure I am blaming apple for the third party thing. I personally think that waves should be getting on with it faster than they are but hey, that is not down to apple. The issue here is not about third party plugs... its about apple breaking Rosetta on Logic for many people on the essential 11.2.2 update. None of this is actually "essential' of course if you are not on M1. My studio system is back on Mojave.. I don't ride any wave there. But on the other hand M1 is here and some of us are pushing on with that also. It's all good. Someone has to go forward. Soon the new will be old and we can relax.
@@MarkPayneAudio Yes, indeed. That's why I mentioned Mission Critical as a good reason to stay behind the curve, because if that's your income, then update slowly and cautiously. An interesting read for those of us who make music, is that of Neil Parfitt and his YT channel. Interesting series of vids on why and how he went for a fully blown MacPro rack mount. It's his livelihood. But an interesting story.
Personally, I was going to get a 16Gb 520 Mac mini, but couldn't find on here in France (Also couldn't order one from Apple for other reasons) so I decided to sit back and wait for the next iteration, and then replace my 2014 iMac when the new M series machines are released. Luckily I don't use many 3rd part plugins, and the ones I DO use have all been released in ASI versions. (I think! Have to check on my U-He synths). So I can pretty mush just swap over when I get my new machines.
What if i use the hub for external hdd / sd/ pendrive. Will it kill the macbook?
No the issues were about USB docs that charge the MacBook
have macbook 12" 2017 that has a single usb-c and i have no power
Thats annoying!
very smart fix !!!!
Welcome!
Is this the same on mac mini M1 with Logic?
What Logic does after the 11.2.2 upgrade is variable. Some have no issue. Others have the Rosetta flag option removed. Some (like me) has weird screens if you run Logic under Rosetta.
This is exactly why I bought a 2020 Intel MacBook Pro last year. I’ve been on Big Sur, every update (now 11.2.3), and have had none of these problems. You should have specified that this only applies to M1. It’s not Big Sur by itself. I’m sure I will get an Apple Silicon Mac eventually, but only once all the kinks are ironed out. I didn’t want to be a guinea pig for Apple and third party developers. This tells me I was right. Got a nice new Intel one, to ride out the transition. I need my stuff to work.
I also have a 2019 intel 13" for these reasons. I have a few specialist audio capture devices that are not going to work on M1 for a while. However, my day to day system (and the one on which I type) is an M1 and I would not go back. It is far supierior as a general system and is a fantastic fit for most people. I am not sure that the USB power issue was restricted to M1... maybe, maybe not. Also the M1 context is implied in the video title!
I think I'll be skipping Big Sur entirely. I can wait until October.
So if I use a Type C to USB 3.0 connector to use my mouse, I don't have to worry about all this?
No worries. This is about devices that supply power back to the macbook.
@@MarkPayneAudio hey, could you give an example?
I just bought an m1 macbook pro with 16gb ram and 1tb ssd, I didn't read about the m1 before buying. I am going to sell it to get an Intel macbook. Tired of these M1 issues..
What issue have you had?
@@MarkPayneAudio no issues because the laptop hasn't been delivered to me yet. From the UA-cam videos and complaints I have seen, it's obvious that I am going to sell my m1 macbook pro to get an intel MacBook pro..
@@MarkPayneAudio I was planning on running windows 10 on the m1 macbook pro and use it as my main pc. Will running windows 10 on it use alot of swap memory?
@@esthervanda7401 windows 10 does work on m1 mac but it is the arm version windows not x86 windows.
Just received my M1 Macbook and immediately loaded 11.2.2 before doing anything else…not a user
of Logic Pro, however..
That is a good plan!
I did the same too, once I got my M1 MacBook I immediately updated it to the 11.2.2 before doing anything else.
@@MarkPayneAudio Thank you, Mark. I reviewed your video comparing the 8gb MBA v. the 16gb MBP in making my choice. I opted for the M1 Air, partly based on your data and assessment, and I glad I did. What I superb machine. This takes over for my late 2008
15” MPB….
good fella to have about...
I don’t think its a right time for me to upgrade my good old mac mini 2012 to the new m1
If your current system is working well don't fix it!
Probably too much current draw across the logic board. I always use a powered hub with any device that runs on battery power.
Hi John. Be careful with that. It was scenario with the powered hubs types that _supply_ charge power to the laptop that was the issue.
more likely a grounding issue I have mine going through a power conditioner and no issues (4 months) so maybe its the volts going to low or two high from wall sockets but I use the jcreate dock and no issues i actually beat my laptop up lol and keeps going
@@MarkPayneAudio I always have the Apple charger and powered hub connected to the Camera Connector and through that to the device.
@@MediaMusik777 Well, the compliance he spoke about, reminded me that I read a claim from Sabrent (which I use) that their USB hubs are fully compliant to a specific USB spec. So, if some of the manufacturers are being sloppy in there compliance, maybe that’s an issue, too?
@@MediaMusik777 You have your USB going through a power conditioner? What are you using?I have my A/C, Apple charger and Sabrent AC adaptor plugged into a Furman SS-6B power strip. Eventually my power strips will plug into a Furman AC-215A Power Conditioner.
is it just if you use it to power? Do I need to be concerned of all I use it for is an external monitor?
The worry was about using theses to power.
@@MarkPayneAudio Has the issue been fixed? can I use an Anker or other solid brand usb-c hub to charge my mac now or is it best to still not do it?
This is rubbish. Im on Big Sur 11.3 and the problem persists quite consistently
USB still breaks my M1 macbook pro. SSD hard disk, halting and waking the mac. Crazy restart automatically
So the issue that we are talking about here is the hardware damage where the Mac M1 is destroyed (control board) by the fault. What SSD are you plugging in? Is this the only device that causes the issue? Is it plugged in directly or via a Hub? Do you have other SSD's that work/don't work?
@@MarkPayneAudio Thanks for the reply. SSD through the USB over a Thunderbolt 3 HP Zbook Dock. The SSD reader is from Orico which works stably for any Intel Mac but not Apple M1. Not only the SSD, but USB 3.0 flash drive. When I left the M1 Mac alone powered up, the USB hard drive via Thunderbolt 3 dock will halt (never plugged out). Sometimes after 1 hour I came back to my Mac, I found the M1 Mac had automatically restarted from failure. The failure log usually pointed to a USB kext driver error... (Yes I heard some dock totally destroyed M1's mother board. That's why I buy 2nd hand Thunderbolt 3 HP Zbook dock. It is okay for now. For M1 mac, i don't trust USB-C dock with charging ability. Certified Thunderbolt 3/4 dock should be fine.) I have tested other 3 hard disks connected to the Thunderbolt 3 hub via USB 3.0, and they all had the RESTART failure constantly. I have to watch my M1 mac doing data transportation by not letting my M1 Mac halt or sleep. LOL
I use the Brydge Stone Pro dock and have not had any problems with it.
I’m late to mention this.... BUT isn’t this really the original outright FAULT of Apple engineers who, MANY COMPLAINED about the STUPIDITY going to a Mac without any to the multiple interface connectors on each side of the more recent editions of the Mac Pro and Mac Air?
I don't like it either but it is what we have! I want a 3.5mm jack back on my phone also!
my usb is dead after 11.3 update, any suggestions?

A $2000 Macbook M1? Does it extist??
Easy... M1 Pro with 16GB memory and 2TB SSD ... way over $2000. My config with 16GB and 1TB SSD is $1899.
Yeah just ignore the base price because those models are essentially useless.
@@johncaccioppo1142 why
@@timeyinsholaye9169 What can you do with 8GB RAM? It's absurd. Apple sells computers with 1.5 TB RAM, they can't very well claim to be trying to level the playing field for anyone.

Macmini sounds better
Yes indeed as a home system.
I can well document that directe connection to professional monitor Eizo is going crazy with Mac Mini M1. Very unstable system, unpredictable and and at leat few time a week monitor is loosing sygnal and created noise. the only way is to discnnect monitor and reconnect. I have 3 previous Mini Mac working perfectly fine.a nd I am NOT happy with M1 at ALL. It'sa toy and very moody system, lots of gimmicky. It will not outlast ANY of previous Intel Mac Minis.
Thats a shame. Sorry that is not working out for you.
We never enought point out the importance to be one OS late.
Remember, you're not a beta-tester for Apple or the various plungin manufacturers and you need your system being stable and reliable.
Wait 6 months or one year.
Appreciate this video.
This guy had the same problem with the m1
ua-cam.com/video/MiLAnfOQvY4/v-deo.html
He also has a third party usb c hub. That might be the same issue that caused his problem with the m1 MacBook Air!
Thanks for sharing!
Yep, its a thing!
Windows laptop is better.
Can't use PCs for Logic.
