    Changing my operation to incorporate this right now. This is exactly what I have been looking to do. Everything else I read had me buying a water pump and running lines everywhere and was massively complex with drip manifolds and whatnot. This is the way to go!!!

    This exactly what I was looking for. I thought there was an air powered drip ring. You have to get water to the young plant roots before they can reach water.
    Agreed, with a reservoir system, you lose control of individual plant control. What a simple system, works great!

    Also, i modified the bottom too by cutting about 1" off so that I could bury the drip ring in the hydroton. ✌️😎

    Hey bro, I have to say that this video is 100% on point and explained in layman's terms. Most other youtubers that have similar videos get extremely technical and can be a bit much for beginner growers. I'd say that this is probably the best video on this topic because of how you gave instructions (kept it simple) and how you went through each step throughly. 100% spot on!

    I'm glad I came across this video. I decided to purchase a DWC/Drip bucket. More or less, because I wanted to see how it was created. It makes Total sense, and, I had considered a multi-bucket system, but, hesitated for the Exact suspicions you confirmed in this video! It made sense, in my head, single buckets are going to be Way more accurate in ph/nutrition. I'm 100% soil grow, before this Upcoming bucket. I have a feeling, I'll be 100% hydro, once I've run one cycle. Using Auto Seed as Well. I'm told, by other growers... the bucket doubles to Quadruples yield in same basic space... I would be lying if I said I wasn't rather excited to give it a shot. I Also chose Flora Nutrients for my 1st attempt. The kit I ordered Did come with Mendocino grow, bloom, ph up and down... I may just build a second bucket and compare ALL of it, side by side... tyfs!!

    Hey brother. Good video. BTW, I had to modify mine when I went to a 6" net pot. The problem is the material that the drip ring is made out of is crap. It won't bend right to fit a 6" net pot. Mine crimped up and didn't drip right. I found 1/4" braided vinyl tubing, which is the same tubing that's on a sink sprayer, and drilled holes in the tubing and made it the drip ring. It bends easily and won't crimp up. Hope this helps. Happy growing ✌️😎

    Does the the tube going down in the bucket has to touch the bottom? I put one to gather with tubing from the hardware store , I tried it the air is coming threw but when I put in the bucket the water is not dripping, so I'm thinking the hose is not touching the bottom.

    Can you tell me how often you add nutrients and how you do it with that setup

    • @jacksimi
      @jacksimi 3 роки тому +3

      I have a similar and the nutrient bottles will tell you how much to add per amount of water. It also came with a book from the nutrient company telling you how much to add at each different week and phase. I'm guessing its different with different manufacturers. But always start with half of what the book publishes. Seedling I'm just using tap water. When they get a little bigger I add Nutrients. Also a electrolytic PH and PPM meter off amazon for 20-30 bucks will make your life so much easier.

      New to the video, but, just incase you haven't found the answer- for most companies- nutrient mix ratio is for Photoperiod plants. I'm running Auto seed, and it's recommended to ph around 6.5-6.8 -
      For most nutes, that's 1/8-1/4 of Recommended mix.
      If running photo's- mix According to nutrient line info.
      For this pot, it's recommended to change every 14-18 days... though, I think I'll watch my water level. Most important is, check the ph EVERY DAY, AND water temp needs to be above 65°F not above 80°... for most strains. Hope this helps. I AM still learning this too- but- do have the Atwater brand off Amazon- just bc it was "everything but seed n sun" ... think it was 90$. Includes stone, nutes, clay pebble. Easily 3 Auto worth of nutes come with it...

    • @influentialolive
      @influentialolive 3 роки тому

      @Oscar Sweigart I forgot one part... to add nutes, you can mix them in a separate bucket, OR, move the lid to a clean bucket, while you adjust the dwc bucket. It's really, that easy. If you have a power outage, you just move the lid from the nutrient bucket to a clean water bucket every hour or two, to keep it from getting funky. It's ALMOST foolproof..

    You can use a small cork or piece of Styrofoam acting as a sight viewer for the water level. You can use one aquarium air pump with a t-head and a valve to control the airflow on either airline. Place the air pump above the DWC's water surface level in case you get a failure of the pump and all the water is on the floor due to a syphon action. BTW: Have you found a good auto fill technique for the DWC's, I don't like Kratky's home made auto fill setup.

      Can you let me know where you can purchase the drip ring? I don't want to have to add a submersive pump and just run air to the drip ring. Can't find that particular style.

    Use a small inline water pump off the water level tube back to the top and make a high flow drip ring out of 3/8 hose. Then air pump is not needed.

    There is no way you have ever ran this set-up with any success, in that, your wonderful circular air-drip will most definitely drown your seedlings within hours!!! Also, you said you kept your bucket dirty for your demonstation, so why doesn't anything you show in your demonstration have anything to do with your filthy bucket, air stone or net pot??? I got a couple more questions, you say you want to go to a smaller net pot, like a 8 or 6 inch, but you say you won't go smaller than your circular air dripper and its for a 12 inch pot!!! LOL 😂 Also, you say a timer is another point of failure, let me tell you of few things, from the get-go this whole video is rediculous, you say seedlings & cuttings need a top drip, cuz they don't have a root sysyem established yet, you should know with your extensive knowledge that you bring up your water level to where its just below your seedlings rockwool or whatever your using, so the bubbles are popping under the rockwool to keep it moist, right!!! Anyways, Mr. I Guaruentee it, this is the way to go, I hate when guys like you who don't know shit about hydroponics & obviously have never grown 1 damn weed plant in your life (I know this by your ridiculous comments on your video) and the reason this makes me so mad is that first time growers will watch this and believe you and waste their money & time doing things the wrong way, cuz you wanted to make a video you know nothing about to fill whatever needs your lacking!!! Please don't make no more videos until you do your homework and know your craft!!! Thanks!!! 🤨
