India won a one-day cricket match against Australia, ending their streak of ten consecutive victories. Tendulkar scored well for India, and Laxman and Dravid both played strong innings. India scored 315 runs, which was not considered a high score given the good pitch and quick outfield. Australia's Hayden scored 99 runs and had a 110-run partnership with Bevan, but once Bevan was dismissed, Australia's chances of winning dwindled.

Though Sehwag made his ODI debut in 1999 against NZ, this was the match that put him in strong contention as second opening batsman. With Ganguly opting to bat lower the order after taking over captaincy, retirement of Navjot Sidhu and Ajay Jadeja banned, it was clear Sehwag had cemented his place. This match, according to me was the turning point of his career. I had watched this live at the chinnaswamy stadium. It was confusing as both Tendulkar and Sehwag looked alike in height and build.

Sachin is one batsman you'll enjoy watching even after 50 years of his retirement. And even this is an understatement. He's an institution in himself. Whenever I think of cricket, Sachin is the first man who comes into my mind(I still remember that knock when he scored 98 against Pakistan in 2003 World Cup). There are many but this was the first time I understood why he's called the God of cricket in India.

yaaa great players but this was the the batting line-up which lost badly against australia even at Home regularly . loosing odi's against australia at home from 2000 to 2009 was a regular practice for us . Even south africa scrambled us at home when this batting order was there Things changed after 2016.
