To show you what kind of a kid I still am at 77 years old, I would have piled a lot of the burn pile inside the tree trunk and burned the whole thing down, just to watch it burn. I may grow up some day but not now.
I bought one of those chain sharpeners a couple years ago, they are great. Oh yeah, that chain has had it. I always manage to find wire when using a new chain the first time out.
Dear Ebon and Rebbeca. I have watched your videos from the onset on u tube. I also watch many u tube videos of similar scenarios, and non related as well. Your moral and ethical values are truly intact at the highest level. As with many u tubers these values begin to diminish from within. Please do not let this happen to you and Rebbeca. As a Canadian from afar, our views of Americans are sometimes skewed by media and political havac. You both are the "American Dream" in its original concept. You bear the responsibility of these values, integrity, and honesty. You are what will make "America Great Again". I will be the first to make known to you if your channel loses any of its intrinsic value. Love and respect to you both, and a very Merry Christmas to you and your families. John Vanden Akker
I have two chainsaws always take two when I go to the woods, many times I have gotten one bound up, had to use the other to cut it out, Just my experience, I use a husky as my big saw, have a smaller Stihl as a trim saw, good combination,
I see a couple folks used my idea!!!......pile wood around that stump and burn it right out......saves your saw, your back, and your fuel!......plus burning on a cement pad can cause it to crack!
We have a husqvarna 465 Rancher with a 28 inch bar a husqvarna 455 Rancher with a 24 in bar and a husqvarna T435 trim saw and love them all. They are lighter than a Stihl. The T435 is a top handle trim saw and works great working up tree tops,
I'm always amazed at how much junk come people seem to accumulate, especially my parents' generation. Before we sold my childhood home, I had to clear out my Dad's junk pile along the back of their property. I was lucky enough to find a metal scrapper who hauled most of it away. It took a couple of months but we finally cleaned it all up. Merry Christmas and Happy New year to you!
I currently have four chain saws (I really only use three of them). I had bought a Craftsman 16" chainsaw right after a hurricane took down some trees around our home (urban area) back in around 2004. It was fine for light duty/occasional use, but wasn't really suitable for clearing our property when we bought our 35 acres. Since then I first purchased an Echo CS-352 chainsaw from Home Depot with a 16" bar. I use it most of the time since it's light weight and easy to handle. So far I have been pleased with it. I also purchased a Stihl MS-270 "Farm Boss" with a 20" bar. I use it for some of the larger trees that I cut down, and again I am very pleased with it. The only downside (in my opinion) is that it's a bit heavy when using it for a prolonged period of time. Finally I purchased a Dewalt battery operated chain saw that my wife uses and I've found to be very handy to carry on the tractor when bush-hogging in the woods. We use it for limbing or cutting up smaller trees (4" in diameter or less) that are too big for the bush hog.
Good idea get your new saw then get on Amazon find all your repair parts so your old saw becomes a first class backup. It’s honestly amazing to me how easy it is to get replacement and repair parts. In my years of burning wood I never had the spare parts luxury that Amazon now provides. Great content 👍
Big fan of your channel but I have one question why didn’t you just build your burn pile on top of that stump two birds one stone, that’s my two cents. Merry Christmas and thanks for all the great UA-cam content. 🎄🇺🇸
That’s a big burn pile, looks like when you do the burn the flames could take out a couple other trees .or will you take those trees close down beforehand.
Hey Evan, you have the right idea. Get you a Stihl 261 and replace the sprocket on the Husqvarna for your limbing and light duty saw. I really enjoyed seeing you get all the use out of your chain with the 2 in 1 sharpener. They are a great sharpening tools and save you money in the long run. You take good care of your equipment and it has taken care of you too. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL
evan ,i'm sorry if i seem bossy, don't burn on your concrete ,it will weaken it,be nice if you could pile it on top of those old stumps ,but you risk killing the nearby trees too, with chainsaw hp is everything,,do i see a bandsaw mill coming, merry christmas from iowa
Best way to clean chain saw, air compressor, blow everything out with air compressor, you can use it to blow out the groove in the bar, can use it to blow out the debris in the clutch area and anywhere that debris will build up. After your done with the blow out using the air compressor your chain saw will run like new til its clogged with debris again...
Each thing you do like cutting this tree down, cleaning up the broken block in the barnyard, makes your place look better and better. When you take down the other burned tree I think you should also cut off the remaining damaged roof on the lean to. It would look so much neater, nobody would even know there used to be another section. I really enjoy your videos, I learn something every time.
What year is you D-17 ? I had a D-17 gas with a loader. Mine was a 1963. Good tractor ! I sold it 2005 because I bought a 180 diesel with cab.Greetings from SW Minnesota.
Evan I think you can get ,,titanium made ,,ever sharp chain s for your chainsaw , so no more chain sharpening ,again and again and again, Yes 😊👍ps ask a logging contractor where you can get them from ,,there cutting all day long without sharpening or changing there chains ,
I had the same problem with my 351 where the saw formed a groove in the sprocket. I switched to the new type of drum when I bought new where the sprockets are a separate piece from the drum rather than all one piece with the drum. The cause, I think, somewhere along the line during production of the 350's and 351's they switched from a 7 tooth drum sprocket to an 8 tooth drum sprocket and did not change the model numbers. When you go to lowes or the depot for a chain, it says it will match on the Husqvarna brand chains but it doesn't, wrong drive tooth count. Check your bar for the numbers that match the chain you need, they are stamped in just above the bar nut slots. I would take that pile of brush and build little campfire sized fires on top of the stumps and keep them burning until the stump is gone. blow the ashes off every now and then and put the coals back right on the stump. Merry Christmas to you and yours, thanks for making videos.
Are you planing on burning the stumps out or like digging it out with an excavator, we have a stihl 361 with a 20” and 22” bar it works great and has a lot of power
Have you thought about buying or renting a wood chipper and then spreading all the wood chips all over the farm or adding them to your mulch pile? Heck if it's all wood from your farm you could use it for bedding and stop buying it for the animals which would pay for the chipper pretty quickly.
It could just have been a shot edit in the wrong place, but ...... Did you really stretch the chain that much? It was nearly falling off! ;0) Using a stretched chin will wreck your sprocket too! As an idea for that stump you have left .... and your other burned tree ..... why not burn it from the inside? It looks like it has a rotted canter so if you cut an opening into the lower section plunge cut with the saw or if you don't fancy that a long auger bit. A splash of diesel on the inner surface and light it up ....... Marshmallows are optional ;0)
I bet for less then $20 dollars you could get a replacement sprocket and then still go buy a 24" new saw so you could easily cut those bigger trees down.
I do most of my cutting with a 50 cc saw due to weight and capability, kind of a swing saw between small diameter and large. When it comes to needing a 24-27 inch bar, or at least the power to pull one around in hardwood, the Stihl 361 can do it but you might have to finesse more than force, whereas the 461 can do either. Before shelling out the big bucks for one of those however, you should definitely see if you can try a Echo (Shindaiwa) 620P with a 24 or 27 inch bar. That's the big brother of the popular 590 and is sold at Home Depot. If that has enough power for your tasks, you'll literally save hundreds of dollars over a 461. I only have a 20 inch bar on mine but wish I had a 24 and it's been reliable and easily has the best throttle response of any of my saws (though I only have the one so that might be luck!).
husquarvarna chainsaws usauley sellll a chainsaw with a smaller bar so you pay the extra for a longer bar from Oregon 50 ccc usauley handle a 24 inch bar
Way too many . Including the best one for his best service. One other video where he could never get too many gloves etc. I like & follow this country view , but this really turned me off .
Get a gallon of tire jack and put in your tires it doesn’t hurt the room or of the tires and you’ll never have a flat again . Go to one lonely farmer on UA-cam and see about the tire jack that he puts in his tractor tires
Get a 55 Gal Steel Drum & Cut out Top & Bottom then cut Triangle or Hole Air Vents around Bottom outer Drum & Sit on Stump then Burn inside the Drum with trash or whatever to burn stump out of ground, it won't take long.
Don't ever buy a Husky or Stihl from any place, except a certified dealer. The Husky's at Lowes are junk and use cheap, knockoff parts. Merry Christmas !
Been in the chain saw tree cutting business for very long time, stehl is not worth it, they only give commercial warranty of 90 days on their saws, echo on the other hand gives 2 year warranty on a commercial level and 5 year on homeowner level, u want a seriously dependable chain saw look into echo their equipment is beyond your dreams in dependability, I have echo large logging saws and considering the engine size they start on 1 - 2 pulls stehl only gives 90 day warranty on the commercial level cuz they dont want to be responsible if it fails on a commercial level being ran daily where echo stands by their product for 2 years on commercial abuse, 5 years with a home owner usage...
Don’t forget to tell your followers what color of wrapping paper & bow you want on the chain saw & to make sure they get the one with good service in your area
I love how I talk about wanting a new saw and you think I am asking for someone to give me one as a gift. I am perfectly able to buy my own. I am not asking for anything from my subscribers except their support.
@@CountryViewAcres I took it as you were talking yourself into buying a new chainsaw. When you're thrifty, you have to reason it out, otherwise it's an instant gratification buy.

Nice video Evan, i wish you and Rebecca and family a very merry Christmas, and all the best in 2020.
Time to ask Santa to get you a New saw. Merry Christmas to you and the family and the goats. Thanks for sharing. I injoy them
He did ask , you just did not catch who he was asking
That be the last time i will write on here
G'day and a Merry Xmas & Happy New year to all. P.S. Santa comes here first - only 1 hour to go.
Chain saw is an easy fix, nice tractor starts right up after sitting in the cold!
Why not burn the pile on top of the stump and in the process remove the stump!
tannenbaum because then he could not give a sales pitch for a new chain saw

Yeah our throw everything away generation isn't much better. They recycled and used everything they had to its full potential. We're too spoiled
that sprocket is a very cheap repair part from Amazon, real simple to repair as well. Maybe 15 US.

Yeah, the part is on order. it cost $12. Hopefully I will have it back and running in a couple weeks.
Or at... replacement parts.com...
The Happiest of the Holidays to you and your family. 🎄

That’s a big burn pile, looks like when you do the burn the flames could take out a couple other trees .or will you take those trees close down beforehand.
I thought same thing, how to control the fire.
Be careful burning on the concrete if the fire gets too hot the concrete will explode!!!!
You are right, I have had it happen. But I havent had it happen in this location.
@6:50-7:10 my favorite part of that song.💕
Today looks like a perfect day to burn that pile CLEAR NO WIND
Merry Christmas to both of you.your Channel is growing . Keep the good work up

you can use a hacksaw blade to clean the bar also....

I think you should get a new place and put your fire wood and make a new shed for it so you don't have to leave your house in the winter time

After Christmas Deals! Get you a new chain saw, you will use it enough to justify it. Merry Christmas to you and your family!
MERRY CHRISTMAS
Could you repair the chainsaw to new, I learned a lot with you just cleaning it out. Would love to see a how to video on how to repair a chainsaw
Merry Christmas
Is it a “lean to” if it doesn’t lean on to anything

Why not push all your burn pile around the old tree and burn it down including its roots.
Why cut it down? More natural just leaving it t. It wasn't a danger to aNY thing could be habitat for woodpecker food.
the ash will dullll the chain why not build the fire round it and burn it
Harbor freight sells a 4 pack of those picks ur dragging thru that channel
Very inexpensive
