I have to tell you, right now your channel is helping me through a very very hard time. Not only are we dealing with this pandemic but at the same time my roommate and best friend is on hospice and basically dying from lung cancer. He is 75 yrs old and I am all he has. It has been a very hard time and one of the things that gets me through is watching your videos. It takes me away to a different place ❤️ Thank you so much
Excellent choice? But you should buy 6" skinner and 5" sheep knife. I have used those for 45 years? as and USDA inspector. I will be happy to answer any questions you may have on animal processing
Great video Evan and Rebecca, really enjoyed the relaxing fishing trip and the retrievers staying close by Rebecca 👍👍. Really looks good around there and getting ready for all the summertime work. Thanks for sharing with us. Fred.
Rebekah your so cute..... That dark puppy is really shy isn't he. I have a female that's shy more so than my other dogs. Good decisions on homesteading you two.....Happy spring stay healthy. Thanks Rebekah for all you do for humanity. Hugs from Minnesota
The dead fish issue might be from a lack of oxygen in the water. Could be solved with a water pump to help circulation. My suggestion is you might want to have the water tested by contacting your county extension office and have them recommend what would be your next step.. Enjoy your videos, thanks
The aborigines in new England taught the early settlers in Massachusetts how to Plant the Three Sisters using fish as fertilizer...FYI: the Three Sisters were Corn beans and squash planted on the same hill...they complement each other
You need a sharping steel and a meat saw. Also when you butcher a Deer, You can leave some on the meat on the neck bone and cut though the bone and use it for soup, Also the ribs. That what the Old Timer did.
Victorinox Forschner Swiss Army 6" Boning Knife, Fibrox Handle - 40610 hes are some great knifes i have them from when i was cuting up deer they are easy to keep sharp and the handles are nice they dont get real slippery like some
Get tires from junk yard truck tires are usually cheap. The hoist would be for grain. But hay wagon need to build a back on it. For grain you add solid back with grain door and sides. Good buy two in one really. Good to haul wood on as well, leave back off load then dump by splitter. We had to pull our grain out no hoist but we survived. Actually my dad got caught in the tines of a front silage wagon filling a silo at a friends it caught his shirt and it was rainy. His foot slipped (he had his old Army leather soled boots on) his flannel shirt got caught and pulled his arm in the button wouldn't break so the arm of it finally gave and the sleeve went up and caught as a flag. The man he was helping seen it and went and found my dad trying to get his arm tied off to stop the blood he yelled at his wife to get the car. They took him to our town Dr. And he wouldn't do anything to help so they had to get him to the hospital 15 miles away! Lucky the Surgeon was an Army Mash Dr in Korea 13 hours later and 6 transfusions he saved my dads arm. That's why we never had a wagon like that he knew the dangers and I was his main help. So we did it all the hard way. People have no clue the dangerous machinery we have to use to farm. Our lives could be taken in a heartbeat. Narrow front end tractors are a rollover waiting to happen. Our old neighbor went out to cut wood and in a breath the tractor rolled crushing him my son found him. To this day he still cannot forget that. As a rural living nurse I've been called to alot of farm related and other accidents and Emergency calls. My kids seen to much at times. That's the great life we live though and the fears we face.
Make sure the upright freezer door shuts tightly. That is engrained in my head from my mom, because she has lost a freezer and it's content to an ajar door. She has a sign on the door now. Hope that's not what happened to you all.
Evan, don’t feel bad… My mother love to fish as did my father they were go fishing down underneath of this bridge close to our house and almost every time my Mother would catch more bullhead than my Dad! However, If they went fishing down across the road at the pond, my dad would catch a lot of catfish which we really loved and Mother would still catch Bullhead , but not as many as my father did catfish. My dad had a very, very sharp knives which were kept High above Our kitchen cabinet at very back.!! Being short I couldn’t have got to zoom if I wanted to not even on a chair. Anyway we were all forbidden to touch them, … He was an expert at sharpening knives of all kinds, chainsaw, and even the two-man saw an axis! I love to watch him but was terrified of all of them. The oldest son was allowed to use the acts when we went to cut wood but no one else!!!! I remember one year when mom and dad were gone and my sister one year younger than me was dating a man three or four years older than her and he thought he would help my father cut wood and there was a bunch of 24 inch / 30” Chunks of wood down by the double garage and it was supposed to be split with a sledgehammer and wedge, but instead, he grabbed a hold of my father‘s chainsaw. I was in my first year of college and foolishly, he started cutting wood but without a brace underneath as my father always put a bigger chunk underneath anything he was cutting.! The next thing you know the chainsaw bucks right into his forehead and luckily my fiancé who was studying to be a nurse/doctor ?which of course he did graduate to become later), was down at the pond fishing Who is my three little brothers. The girls hollered for him and he drove my sister and her boyfriend to the hospital with very bloody bandages. They put 340 stitches in his forehead and cut his “curly Long, @tiny Kim hair mostly off much to his sadness. Frankly, I was glad I hated that here but unfortunately he grew it back in time for prom and wedding which I also hated. Knives of today are made a better quality and are actually made by craftsman in our pieces of art. Saying that changing the subject, you have a beautiful home and I know I said it before I admire you greatly and I know it’s the work of both of you, Evan & Rebeccah!!!
We used our wagon like that one for hay we had sides for it that we put on it when we pick corn or haul fire wood you dumped the wood and saved us from unloading it by hand
I freeze my fish in water in plastic containers. When frozen, remove from containers then seal in food saver bags. Never get freezer burn and taste fresh when preparing. They will keep much longer than just frozen.
Thanks for sharing the items & information about them. You can probably find a good used tire for the hay wagon. The dump feature of the hay wagon will be nice for moving dirt or brush to wherever you want to on the place. Stay safe.
If you’re finding dead fish around the pond check the oxygen levels, if it’s low think about putting in something to disturb the surface to add oxygen.
I had the same problem with the fish in my pond. every fish that was caught looked like the one before the previous one. The solution was to start By starting culling practices, I've been able to improve the size and quality of all species of fish. including the bass.keeping and eating a lot of them. By doing so it made room for the others to grow and reproduce. People get so enthused with largemouth Bass, the ruin their pond for really good fishing.
The hay wagon is nice, with dump feature for square bails. Your dad s tractor or your A-C will get the job done for cut, rake, and bale. The hay wagon, just used tires. Good Luck!
The dogs are loving to fish .Thats funny. As much as I would like some fresh fish, and then you threw those back in. O my goodness. Lol Rebecca knows how to catch fish. You better get going ,she is way ahead of you. Stay safe. God bless.
It was nice to see the fish put back in the pond in a kinder manner instead of just throwing them like a rock. That being said, I absolutely adore you guys!! I was laughing so hard at the dog and the fish 😂 I'm so looking forwards to everything that will be coming up on your channel this year ❤️
i had a dog named sit.... that old thing was confused all the time..... when i called him , he didnt know what to do..... sit come here... sit come here..... just for laughs.. ...
salty dog Dangit! What was I thinking 🤔? And I paid almost as much for him as I did for the car I’m driving. He’s a miniature dachshund and they are itty bitty hounds. Some days, he makes me look at myself in the mirror cause I could’ve had a new car!!!! Dangit!!!!!!
Where do you get the landscape fabric? When you reuse it the next year how do you deal with the holes for the plants? Do you label it and usr it for the same veggies?
evan.... very funny.... if your gonna have an outlet in the middle of your field, you have to bury wire below the frostline and put it in condoit.... of course im joking... lol....
Here in Minnesota you cant keep any bass until memorial weekend. Comment I see you have a drain coming off your house from the gutter it would be really easy to install a French drain so it's not in your way walking past the house or mowing only a suggestion
I laughed so hard. Run Scout Run. Thanks Rebecca for being a nurse during this hard time.
Yes! And plenty of L-Lysine, daily!!
Those dead fish around your pond would make great fertilizer for your tomato plants

Another video from guys, I’m so happy. It’s pretty boring around here. Nice knives. Thanks to Rebecca for keeping us well.
Good video, Rebecca is good at fishing, the dog is fast...loved the chase. Congratulations on all the new equipment. Thanks for sharing.
Good video
Good video y'all👍
Dexter knives are awesome. Very economical and proven in commercial usage
My father in law always buried dead fish and left over fish heads in his garden. He always had massive numbers of tomatoes.
Where is little Molly? Thank-you for your service Rebecca during this bad time in history, you both stay safe.
Excellent choice? But you should buy 6" skinner and 5" sheep knife. I have used those for 45 years? as and USDA inspector. I will be happy to answer any questions you may have on animal processing

Hilarious fish thief that Scout!
I think rebecca is using the same fish must have it trained😜
I see those solar powered electric fences everywhere, really useful.
Delish fish.
I really need to get a line in my pond. I've got a bunch of bass, blue gill, and I've been told there used to be a HUGE cat fish in there.
It was nice to see the fish put back in the pond in a kinder manner instead of just throwing them like a rock. That being said, I absolutely adore you guys!! I was laughing so hard at the dog and the fish 😂 I'm so looking forwards to everything that will be coming up on your channel this year ❤️

Another comment I know why you don't have time to fish its because you are constantly cleaning your wife's catch..😅
Disgusting to see you give the dog a live fish! Why don’t you grow veggies and leave the butchering of animals.
Kelly Walles time to move along to other youtubers. We love to watch them fish, and those dogs are smart!
