Looks like both do well. It appears the SFT 40 seems to have a more useful spot, just a shame there is not a 5000K version available. I can't seem to buy into the super cold tint of the SFT 40 as of yet. I have a C8 with CSLNM1, and the beam in reality is barely useful, at least it seems to me anyway. Yes, it throws far, I find that it just pinpoints an object and not much more. My personal favorite thrower I have as of now is my Wurkkos TS30S, big hotspot, useful beam, and throws decently. Good review, thanks for the video.
Thank you my friend I appreciate your comment 🙏 Yes they both are excellent throwers, I do agree with you they should do the 5000k or even 5700k version of the sft40.
I have the Culpm1.Tg model, and boy it throws... its Amazing, Quality/Price the L21b is The Best Thrower Flashlight you can get for now. LOVE CONVOY ✌️✌️💓💓
Thank you my friend I appreciate your comment 🙏 Yes I could not believe it got over 1400m at turn on and around 1380m after 30 seconds amazing light for the price.
Really interesting and useful comparison! I was wondering how these two emitters would perform side by side in the same host. Thanks for the data and beam shots of these awesome throwers!
The SFT40 wins hands down with the larger, much more useful, hotspot. Thanks for the comparison. I think the Osram are more suitable for very small lights where it would improve throw and small reflectors wouldn't focus the beam so extremely.
Good comparison. I prefer the sft40 it has a more usable beam for my use around the farm. But that Osram boost hx (culpm1) is very impressive in that host.
Thank you for comparing these two emitters so clearly. I have an M26c on the way with the SFT40 and your tests make me think I made a good choice for my purposes, I prefer the wider spot and spill over that of the osram. A bit off topic but, I don't see much said about the M26c, maybe because 26650s have fallen out of favour somewhat? Having plenty of 18650s made it (and the M11) seem like a more economical choice over 21700 devices for me. Thanks again, all the best.
Hello Smothered Chrome! Appreciate you doing a side-by-side for these two emitters. In summary, the SFT40 version has a larger spot size, almost double the lumens and more useable spill and the Osram has a brighter, tighter hotspot. Thanks and hope you're doing well!
I bought these two at the same time. My SFT40 version had a big dark hole in the center of the beam. Pretty much ruined the light for me. The CULPM1.TG version is amazing, though.
try resetting the reflector, give the bezel a twist back n forth, at worst you can sand the gasket a bit, at the extreme, get a older batch reflector of L21a or L21b
Flashlights that have that Black ring by the led, throw further, same as Lumintop Odl20c, another Amazing Light that i own. Great Review, Keep up the good work ✌️✌️
Hey Joseph, thanks for doing this video! I searched for convoy l21b osram and your video showed up first and I wanted to see the difference between the sft40 and culpm. Definitely going with the sft40. I don’t need a lep. Great video
Hey, nice video. I've compared the CULPM1 and the SFT40 in the S21A and S21B and came to the same conclusion. The SFT40 makes more lumen and the CULPM1 throws a little farther. I have the L21B with the CSLNM1, it makes less lumen than the CULPM1, but it should throw even farther. The beam is very small with that light though, it's definitely a pencil beam and the spill is pretty light. Still a very fun light because it can really throw. If you wanted to do a comparison video of the L21B with the three emitters (CSLNM1 vs. CULPM1 vs. SFT40) and you are willing to pay for shipping, I can loan you mine.
Thank you my friend I appreciate your comment 🙏 I appreciate the offer very kind my friend, but I have the cslnm1 on my to get list I will pick it up on my next order from convoy, I'm also curious but I believe the Culp is king of the osram just my opinion though.
@@smotheredchrome >king of the osram It is definitely brighter. I think the CULPM1 is probably my favorite emitter too. The L21B with the CSLNM1 acts basically like a LEP, you will find it a lot of fun and be very impressed with it's throw.

I don't think so ,but if they do release a 5k version I'll definitely be in line for one.

Laser excited phosphor, uses a laser as it's light source.
Sir what is difference between 8A vs 6A driver. Tell me in detail.
