@wiregreyhounds Thank you for writing the names down here ... I really didn't know, who could have been
who. (Sorry, my English is not correct).)
I thought the Jarvis Cocker impersonator was supposed to be Elvis Costello...
The first one isn't ALAN PARSON?
I always thought Bono is supposed to be Quentin Tarantino and I was confused. Thank you.
@@whitenoiz1 I always thought that, too!
Still the most brilliant music video that’s ever existed or ever will be. Jarvis Cocker as Brian May at the end is too perfect for this world.
And of course the only real voice is Cocker dubbed over his impersonator
I just realized that 😅😂
Too bloody right. ❤
Shit like this is why Pulp is the greatest band ever.
1:43 don't forget to show your love for Candida
the best
This should have been a massive hit , fantastic music and lyrics.
Maybe its the "bad" cover version but undoubtedly and probably the most original idea for a video EVER!
Very funny too.
And much cheaper!
It is genius...
You should watch The Ramones video for Something to Believe.
Good job, funny one too and full of good vibes!
How have I never seen this before? That was the best 4 minutes I never knew I'd missed.
Rest in power Steve Mackey.
(0:21 - Jeff Lynne) (0:24 - Robbie Williams) (0:33 - Liam Gallagher) (0:42 - Kylie Minogue) (0:54 - David Bowie) (1:00 - Noel Gallagher) (1:10 - Missy Elliot) (1:13 - George Michael) (1:26 - Bono) (1:33 Sophie Ellis Bextor, Jennifer Lopez) (1:37 - Paul McCartney) (1:47 - Craig David) (2:00 - Tom Jones) (2:05 - Bruce Springsteen) (2:11 - Bjork) (2:21 - Kurt Cobain) (2:26 - Rod Stewart) (2:31 - Meatloaf) (2:36 - Cher) (2:49 - Phil Collins) (2:51 Jay Kay, Jarvis Cocker, Mick Jagger) (3:20 - Elton John) (3:40 - Missy Elliot) (3:47 - Gary Numan) (3:51 - Brian May)
Bono?Sting will cry :p
1:10 was missy elliot
I thought it was Keef, not Mike Oldfield. But I may be mistaken.
It's not Mike Oldfield, it's Springsteen!
A BONO no lo ubique donde esta?
"Like the Stones since the eighties" y el Bowie se rasca la nariz jajajajajaj excelente
I love how even the Marshall amps at the end are impostors (they say "Warhol")!
Never noticed that before!
Well spotted.
The second side of 'Til Band Comes In'
RIP Scott Walker :'(
One of the best and funniest music videos ever
Cher, Tom Jones and Björk are my faves🥰😍🥰
The Macca key change nod is sheer genius.
it really was lovely
The guy who played Macca got the mannerisms down to a tee.
IKR Beatles impersonator fans are pretty intense and dedicated.
I can t stop watching it either, the girl who plays as Killy, the one with the blond braid has an incredible pretty voice, and Paul, Elton and Mick Jagger are just like the originals. Brilliant Tom Jones too, omg!
Brilliant cher lookalike doing the electronic voice sound effect.
Sabath bloody Sabath!! That riff in the middle is the father of all drop D songs
THE ONE YUNOLONGAHHHH OWNNNNNN!
I crack up almost every time at that part and I must have heard this like 100 times now.
The Rod Stewart and Cher look-a-likes are amazing.
I can watch this over and over.
I remember when MTV play this videoclip in 2002, i was immediately hooked
. Great song and one of the most hilarious videos iv'e ever seen.
this is brilliant, I can't stop watching it.. my god! the Paul, Jarvis and Mick Jagger are just like the real ones, clones. And congrats to the Bowie voice
Absolutely agree! I can t stop watching it either, the girl who plays as Killy, the one with the blond braid has an incredible pretty voice, and Paul, Elton and Mick Jagger are just like the originals. Brilliant Tom Jones too, omg!
The "autotune do you believe in love after love" in Cher's voice - hahahahah
It's epic auto tune is very productive 👌
It was electronically reprocessed, indeed.
my unorganized music playlist secretly doing a collaboration
LOL! underappeciated underrated comment!
I take some degree of amused pride in being able to name every artist being "covered" in this video as they appear... and some of these are British artists from the late 90s who have since gone obscure lol. I guess all the readings of Q magazine in Borders back then helped. Final notes... "Kurt" was a bit too much of a buffonish mockery than a loving tribute here... love the serious Gary Numan spoof though good for a chuckle
I always laugh hard when Tom Jones begins to sing, so funny! Best diss track ever!
Exactly at this moment i start laughing like dork, yeah, each time
Haven't watched this in a few years. Brought an even greater smile to my face than back then...it's obviously aging well! Not to mention my face, it's aging pretty well also.
Best. Video. Ever. That is all.
i love how bitter the lyrics are
I think about this video so often.
Pulp fiction
Jarvis as Brian May!! 🥰
I'm pleasantly surprised a record company would bankroll a video like this!
Great song
i think this is my favorite videoclip ever.
The Great Cover Version.
some of them are IDENTICAL to the real ones
+ziggiette That's stretching the imagination some what!
Marvin Lee Aday (meatloaf singer) looks so original, and dear George micheal's was a good one too , I was like what happened to his voice lol. Had to read comments to start understanding what is happening
The Macca one is very convincing, although his nose is slightly squint.
I remember the first time I saw this I didn't know they were lookalikes. I just sat there with my jaw open thinking "How in the hell did they pull this off?"
Then it got to Kurt Cobain.
And I was like.
"Wait."
I don't even know who half of them are supposed to be, but that guy doing Cobain was awful. They should have at least tried to make him sound like Cobain. The rest of them are impersonators, he's like a parody.
How high were you the first time you watched it?
HolidayKirk once it got to bono I was like
What
LOL
Me too lol
The amount of time I watched for before realising these are lookalikes was embarrassingly long ..
poesia pura y directa... brillante...y el video es una oda a la ironía ..siguen pasando los años.. y se escucha tan fresco como la primera vez... nunca pasara de moda...
I saw this years ago. I’ve been trying to find it ever since. Finally did!!
This is legendary
this video is pure genius !!
That Liam Ghallager actually sounds like Noel
I love this video, never fails to cheer me up! Those guys are so spot on it took me some time to get through my head that they were imitators.
me too...is it band aid 3
@Icy Cold Hands Many years later: Were ALL really impersonators?
Paul McCartney and Cher felt very real to me.
@@raincloud7817Jarvis is, but they dubbed real Jarvis over him so he kinda isn't.
@@Yesterzine Thank you, I've got it long time ago.
Perfect. Paul is amazing! Really, this video gets it all right.
underrated video, underrated song, underrated band and underrated composer.
I love this song. Pulp are really brilliant.
Still better than band aid 30!
Still better than the original Band Aid and USA for Africa.
This has got to be one of the coolest music videos I have ever seen, It is not only a super awesome idea (that I only realized halfway through) but it also featured references to some of my favorite musicians of all time.
my God , that is like the best list of singers ever assembled !! wow lol
The word's on the street
You've found someone new
If he looks nothing like me
I'm so happy for you
I heard an old girlfriend
Has turned to the church
She's trying to replace me
But it'll never work
'Cause every touch reminds you of
Just how sweet it could have been
And every time he kisses you
It leaves behind the bitter taste of saccharine
A bad cover version of love
Is not the real thing
Bikini-clad girl on the front
Who invited you in?
Such great disappointment
When you got him home
The original was so good
The one you no longer own
And every touch reminds you of
Just how sweet it could have been
And every time he kisses you
You get the taste of saccharine
It's not easy to forget me
It's so hard to disconnect
When it's electronically reprocessed
To give a more life-like effect
Ah, sing your song
About all the sad imitations
That got it so wrong
It's like a later "Tom & Jerry"
When the two of them could talk
Like the Stones since the Eighties
Like the last days of Southfork
Like "Planet of the Apes" on TV
The second side of "'Til the Band Comes In"
Like an own-brand box of cornflakes
He's going to let you down my friend
Best guitar solo EVER
Haha that Bowie straight out of Stella Street
I can watch IT over and over again!!!! Timeless classic!!!!
My heart kinda stopped when I realized that that Brian May was Jarvis.
one day this video will be swamped by the outside world, but for now we happy few will enjoy it while we can.
the perfect cover version!!
All proceeds go to supporting your local wedding cover bands.
Why have I never seen or heard this?
2017 and this is still my favorite music video of all time.
So many good music jokes in this video! Vocoder Cher always earns a huge LMFAO
Gary Numan of all people silently tapping a "xylophone" or whatever is another big one!
Tubular bells
It's an injoke NUman plays Tubular Bells, written by OLDfield.
Cher killed it!
Je ne m'en Lasse pas.
Ça me rappelle mes jeunes années en Angleterre.
Heureusement que nous avons les anglais et Pulp avec Jarvis en Brian May à la fin.
God bless the Queen and now a king...
alright now let's all sing imagine
My favourites of this video: Kylie Minogue, George Michael, Bono, Sir Paul McCartney, Tom Jones, Björk, Rod Stewart, Mick Jagger and Jarvis Cooker as Brian May.
I like the fact the Jarvis impersonator is the only one miming with the real Jarvis providing the vocal for that line.
keith and mick lookalike goes "THE STONES WERE BRILLIANT IN THE 80'S!"
Too many comments about the video. Too litlle comments about the song. This song deserves so so much more
It's related to the song. The lyrics are great in my view.
Pulp just an incredibly brilliant group.
Like the fact the imitators can actually sing lol.
Well, that's what impersonators do, so not so much of a shock, really.
Viva PULP! Genius.
Interestingly the late Scott Walker produced this even knowing that they mocked his own album 'Til the band comes in'.
I can't believe Mick Jagger and Keith Richards agreed to appear after being referred to in the song.
apparently Jarvis Cocker was so embarrassed when they were recording this song, he was hoping Scott wouldn't notice. they eventually got to that part and Scott was like "seriously dude?"
Genial!!! Excelente canción... Dudo que exista algo similar, haber reunido a todos ellos, inigualable.. una pena que algunos ya no estén con nosotros!
Son dobles, ahí está la gracia
The best one is Elton John, I can't believe that's not him!!!
+FreddieHg37 The only problem was that he could not sing, so he only did a silent role.
That's a shame...
The guy for Robbie Williams is also perfect
@@Voitcus I guess one could say they're all perfect in their very own special way…
One of the most underrated and brilliant concept videos ever, just brilliant 👏👏👌👌👌
i love this so much. the Bowie guy looks more like Shane MacGowan, mind
That has got to be one of the best videos ever! Its just brilliant! I especially love the Cher bit where she sings 'electronically processed' with the vocoder effect! Its just genius to think of having Cher sing that line!
Plus Craig David 'what great disappointment'! lol that is so true! Though more like 'what a great tosser' lol
Does Nobody saw the Bee Gees at the end? Standing next to Bowie.
Or Geldof.
i finally lost it at garry nooman banging the tubular bells.
NUman playing OLDfield
I love Meatloaf's mannerisms. The Robbie Williams is good too. Brilliant video!!
I think meatloaf looks more realistic than the real meatloaf, how fucked is that.
@@jimduffy1967 I must admit, I'm still not convinced that McCartney and Meat Loaf weren't the real ones!
yeah a pulled off a real quality tone as well
The Cher with the short auto-tune was great!
Man!! I almost believed these guys!!!
I think this video is the epilogue to Rock. The farewell of a golden era of talent and stupidity. Now we are in an era of stupidity.
the man who made this video is genius

And the man in the Brian May wig was Jarvis Cocker.. genius
second encore in Athens last night... Huge respect!!!!
Best music vid ever
Rod stewart in this video like a sick man
Is the Jarvis impressionist's line actually delivered by Jarvis himself? It's uncanny.
I know this comment is old but according to wikipedia it is
@@insertcreativename7192 well now I know
the real Jarvis Cocker is the Brian May lookalike at the end.
I was just going to ask if that was him haha!
Liam looks like Richard Ashcroft
Are you refering to the lookalike on the video or the real one? Because I'd agree on both
Guys, it's already mid-2024. You could finally decide to put this out every December. Thank you.
J'adore Pulp ! My Favourite since the 90'S! Chester FOREVER!
This version should be on Spotify?
It is now. Look for the single release
Liam's lookalike is perfect.
Holy shit! Why did it take so long to have this video in my life?!
The meatloaf parody at 2:32 was absolutely spot on
my favourite video ever
