I have the silver version of this pen. It is very nice and well-made. I find the diameter a bit too narrow to be completely comfortable in the hand. Nice review!
In response to Unsharpen's Pentel Energel Hexreform website page: I currently own a Pentel Energel Sterling Slim pen which uses LR and LRN Energel refills. Its style is very similar to the Hexreform. It has the same clip and lengths (capped, uncapped, posted). I was able to use a Uni SXR Jetstream refill in the Sterling Slim by cutting off a very small piece of a lollipop stick and placing it in the pen's barrel which allows the refill's tip to extend out of the pen's tip. Nothing to it; that was it. Fits perfectly! If it can fit in the Sterling Slim, I feel confident that it will fit in the Hexreform. I was also able to fit my Ohto C Ceramic rollerball refill into the pen. It comes out a tad short, but that's easy enough to fix. I was able to place a Zebra Sarasa gel ink refill as well with no modification. There are choices for refills for the Hexreform. I really like the Hexreform, much more than the rOtring 600 ballpoint I own. I find that a metal-bodied pen that can hold different ink types and refills as well as being attractive to the eye is worth the $20 spent for one. I also have an appreciation for non-retractable refillable capped pens as you are more likely to find a compatible refill. Thanks for the video and the additional information on your website!
Pilot G2 refills are a bit wider at the tip compared to Energel (and Uniball Signo) refills. So while the latter fits in anything that takes Pilot G2s (with tip wiggle), the reverse usually does not work.
I got a couple energel philography special edition matte black ones from Aliexpress thankfully they were real because on ebay they are insanely expensive.
Pentel makes these beautiful pens but mention nothing about them at their official site. It's very weird that a brand would be so secretive of their own products. Just the other day I was window shopping fountain pens at my local stationery shop and found Pentel makes fountain pens too. They didn't even know its model name, but after some fiddling around online, the model number is F700. It seems it's more popular as a rollerball than as a fountain pen. I don't know how it writes, I didn't buy it yet, but it had a nice heft to it and a satisfying click cap.
See I want something kinda in this form factor and metal that just takes bic cristal an bic round stick carts.... they are my favorite for drawing and as a just work everytime beat around pen
Pentel is better than Parker at the moment. Had lot of problems with expensive original Parker refills. Now I love Pentel. (This is my particular opinion, based on experience I had).
The Pentel LRP refills are permenant, the LRs are standard and LRN is the needlepoints - as far as I know there is no needlepoint permenant refill. So the LRN you have probably the LRN5-AX is not permanent ✌🏾
Hopelessly late, as usual, to the party but I do like it. A bit short and skinny but very handsome. Why on earth was it limited and why didn't they roll it out to more territories? Was it an experiment that didn't sell well enough? Or is it like the French farmers who only export their tasteless 'golden delicious' apples to the UK and keep the best for themselves, or am I being paranoid? Mass market pentels may write well but they're pretty ugly. This is a work of art in comparison. I've been forced to go down the far more expensive Caran d'Ache, Rotring, Lamy, Stilform avenue! Admittedly, they are far chunkier but for a stiff premium.
Is there a metal body pen housing that can accept every kind of pen refill or atleast all popular ones?? Even if it has to come with adapters to work with some.. I like to switch up depending on what I need out of my own for art. Or just general use. I been nodding a 4 pen body to hold 3 diff pen inks an a pencil
I really like the look of this and really hate that you've shown me something I seemingly have no hope of getting hold of. I'm in the UK and our ebay and Amazon sites don't really connect to the worldwide versions, even if you tell them to search worldwide. It's a shame. Never used Rakuten or AliExpress before but might have to open an account just for this.
After seeing your video, I tracked one down on AliExpress. I love the forest green color, which is hard to find on an EDC pen. I swapped out for a 0.7mm needle-tip and I'm carrying it now. It's lighter than my OHTO liberty and rides beautifully in a T-shirt pocket.
I agree. I would have to place Energel ink at the top of the "Best Gel Ink" list. Energel offers an assortment of colors which are all very rich and vivid and tip sizes. However, other inks are just as great like hybrid ink, for instance. This ink, especially coming out of a 0.5 mm tip, holds up very well to highlighter ink, not to mention that it lasts much longer than gel ink.
Sal, the “upscale” Energel sold Stateside with a cap is the Pentel Libretto. It’s more of an elegant than a technical looking pen. I go for the former, I think you prefer the latter. After shipping, the Libretto comes out way cheaper than the Hexreform since it’s officially sold in America.
I currently own a Libretto. The capping and posting action is its best feature. I would have liked it if the grip section was the same color as the rest of the body, excluding the black body of course. Also, I'm not a fan of its clip. It's a very solid clip; I would have preferred a more curvy design.

Hopefully this pen becomes available for the masses
Absolutely love the aesthetics. The fact that it's capped makes it even better. Thanks for showing this to me. +1 sub for you, good sir.

Amazing info. Thanks!
Just ordered this via Yoshida in the USA. $28. They showed 6 colors of which silver & green were available.
I'm from México. I bought it in Amazon. My pen is silver. Also bought 12 cartridges of lrn5 ui blue
Y cuál es tu opinión de el Hexaform?

Ooh! I would love to see a retractable version on this, a'la the Ohto Horizon.
Oooh that's the hotness, need it in titanium.
As of 3/3/2022, the Hexreform is being sold at Yoseka Stationery in Brooklyn, NY.
I saw! Great news

Usually it’s because the pen is sold in a different geo. I think this pen was only sold in South Korea at launch for instance.
It's available at Amazon Japan on pre-order and available by 12-6-19 for a little less than 30 dollars. The amount is really not worth it to me.

Nowadays I became more in Pen 🖋 Addiction on seeing your Videos..

Have you ever tried a orenz nero i am getting it tomorrow love if you would review it thx
Can you use jetstream SXR refills inthis pen?

Yea look at my review of the bigidesign titanium pens. They are designs with a collet to accept almost any refill
That look nice to show of.

@@unsharpen OK cool, thanks. I'll go with AliExpress for now.
This pen like levenger 3.0 and rotring600...

Energel refills write so well that I think it's kind of unnecessary to find other refills.

Between the hexreform and the Sarasa grand, which one would you say is the better one?
Sarasa Grand
@@unsharpen thanks! Man I just wish that rotring would restart the production for their 600 rollerball! I would not look anywhere else! 😔
"I want you to sell me this pen"

Hey Sal will this fit .7 version?
Yea the refills are interchangeable
Looks fine to me. In fact, I'd even say it has a nice personality🤨
Hey sal, I recommend you to look at the Scriveiner rollerball pen. It's such a nice pen especially for the price point!
I found it really uncomfortable in spite of its cool design ): The hexagonal form is not good for the grip section.
Yo yo yo why dis b so quiet
