MOST SPECTACULAR GANGBAL LAKE TREK - CONNECTING WITH SACRED EARTH / SWIMMING IN HOLY WATER - Day 1

Gangabal Lake trek is the most beautiful and popular trek in Kashmir. This scenic journey is about two sacred alpine lakes - Nundkhol and Gangbal - which are located in the lap of Mt. Harmukh 5146 m above sea level.
Gangabal lake is considered sacred in Hinduism as one of the abodes of Shiva, and Kashmiri Hindus perform an annual pilgrimage to the lake called Harmukh-Gangabal Yatra.
Many faiths and traditions share a deep sense that the ground is holy. In India and the Middle East, worshippers in mosques, churches and synagogues remove their shoes before entering a sacred space to pray. This is connected with ideas of cleanliness and purity. In some traditions, pilgrims walk holy paths barefoot as a sign of their dedication and love.
I personally believe and feel deeply within me that the whole Mother Earth is a sacred, living being. Walking barefoot connects me directly to her energy, body, heart and soul and I feel blessed and humbled with every barefoot step I make on this magical, breathtaking and mesmerising holy ground!

Fascinating video - a great adventure and I'm really impressed of you doing that tour barefoot! As for myself, I grew up in a small village in Bavaria and it was very common for me and the other kids to walk barefoot almost everywhere during summertime - but hiking up a mountain on a path like this would be far beyond of what we would have dared. My respect!

I love when people notice barefoot girls and make comments.
I once was lucky enough to be in a hiking group that did a mild-to-moderate mountain trail, and one of the girls did the whole trail barefoot. I thought her boyfriend would kick my ass for staring at her feet, LOL. Anyway, when we got back down the mountain, I heard some other people talking and they said "hey did you see that chick that did the whole thing barefoot, that was awesome."
