My grandpa was Qb at Lakeshore back in the early 1970s, he says that the Lancers always play their best against St Joseph

Favorite play is the 17 min mark. Korf dove on the ball. The kid is super tough. Coached him his freshman year. Very proud of what he and the Lancers football are doing. Great group of kids altogether.

Hubris. Hubris by the SJ coaching staff cost them this game. If they kick the FG to go up 24-14, they probably win this game. It was a huge momentum shift when we stuffed them on 4th down. Also, when they went for it late in the 4th quarter on a 4th and 16 with their backup QB in the game. If they punt the ball deep, they almost guarantee OT.
Stil, this wasn't just the greatest War by the Shore game ever, not just the greatest Lakeshore game ever, but one of the greatest football games I've ever seen at any level. For context, I was at Soldier Field for the NFC Championship game in 1985.
