Sovietwomble's commitment to tactical realism is admirable, but the ZF squad is equally committed to nonsense. Join me as I breakdown this ridiculousness.

6:30 For context. In ZF there is or at least was (I'm not sure if that's still a thing) a rule that if you make "That's what she said" joke and nobody laughs in 10 seconds you get banned.
oh ok lol, that makes more sense now
Kicked, not banned
@@kermabit6427 actually they send a hitman after you to kill you in real life
Then you're forced to drink ZF beer
@@Shuriver That's just cruel.
I'm just waiting for "Doomsday Rounds" and the "anti-tank mine"...
I am waiting for 'The Badgers' video where they break geneva convention rules several times.
"If you ever had deleted an entire city because you loaded Doomsday rounds. Go ahead and press F for the opposition."
IT IS AN ANTI TANK MINE! ON THE MAIN ROAD!!! ahahahah
But it's an anti-tank mine, it shouldn't-
@@PeninsulaCity2024 i almost thought that was a garand thumb reference
Quad bikes in Arma are usually used in two scenarios: asymmetrical missions where having a small, easily hidden vehicle that doesn't generate a lot of heat is key to getting around quickly and quietly, and on large bases (such as the occupied Altis International) where, in order to get from one side of the base to the other in a timely manner, there are a handful spots to quickly check out a quad bike and scoot over to where you need to be. For the exact reasons you mentioned, they're otherwise not often used in conflict zones- not if better options are available.
The vehicle shown at around the midpoint is a Tigris, a CSAT mobile anti-air vehicle. It's scary enough to see one of those things while you're airborne, but they're also notoriously powerful as an anti infantry/soft-armor vehicle.
It can also be used when you need to go through terrain that is a pain to navigate.
where its ether take this heavy tank and hope it can knock down any trees in the way and not get stuck in a ditch or something.
or a heli that might not be a option for the mission.
so you take the Quad bikes because its the only thing you have access to that is not walking or a pickup truck that will get stuck on everything.
@@Zack_Wester Don't they use those buggy things rich over weight people usually take camping with them? Forgot what they're called, razor or something.
@@lorsmephisto5222 you mean the Offroad (that is a Toyota Hilux)
or the Qilin/Prowler.
or the MB 4WD (4 seet suv).
Looking at the Arma3 wiki.
1:29 He frequently has the job of flight commander, so that might explain the helmet and parachute
10:12 Fun story: While we were in Afghanistan, a couple of the guys and I were sitting on top of a UH-60 Blackhawk, doing some post-maintenance inspections, when we heard this loud, weird noise from further down the flightline. We look up, and there's a bunch of commotion by the Cav birds. Turns out, one of the avionics guys accidentally triggered a rocket mounted on an OH-58, which flew about 30 feet and smashed into the barrier in front of the bird. It obviously didn't have time to arm, but that poor dude never lived that shit down.
Were his trousers brown before that little incident? Or only after?
7:10 Its a fictional vehicle buts its inspired by SPAAG and a vehicle called the BMPT Terminator basically a modernized T-72 chassis with a turret that has 2 30mm autocannons and several anti tank guided missiles
looks more like a itpsv 90
Yeah and theyre piloting it around for the sweet autocannon shoots
It reminds me of the German mobile AA Gepard
Thanks for the video!
Also on 2:07 when you were trying to track down the fly, you can pause the video and press "." or "," on your keyboard to go to the next or previous frame of the video respectively.
Instead of pausing and resuming in attempts to get to the exact second.
Further confirmation, that is indeed an insect of some kind.
@@c0baltl1ghtn1ng I thought it was a bird of some kind at first. But yeah, it's definitely an insect.
@@stevensubianto9862 i thought it was a silly edit
keep forgeting what key it is over and over again.
@@Zack_Wester Well, the comment's here if you need it! XD
If DCS is done correctly, the A-10 for example indeed does have ground safety which prevents the gun from firing while the jet is on the ground (actually I think it's whenever the landing gear is down). But the A-10 also has a ground safety override which lets the pilot disable this feature.
I would presume the systems that detect whether the bird is on the ground or not could be even less reliable in a helicopter which doesn't have retractable gear so my guess is that those helicopters very likely also have a ground safety override switch.
its a pressure sensor on the landing gear.
A ground crew in Belgium a few years ago managed to engage the ground override of a F-16 and fire the Vulcan into another parked F-16 that caught fire and burned up. Also, quite a lot of older Soviet planes did not have a ground pressure sensor so you can retract the landing gear when already on the ground.
here's a tip regarding youtube's demonetization.
i think swears are kinda okay, as long as they happend further into the video.
atleast i remember that being a thing in the past.
might be something to look into, expecially as youtube sadly spreads demonetized videos less aswel
True, but it's a 15 minute reaction video with no editing. Sure time is money, yet it's a trade-off. You get more viewers and retain the ones you have. Not that big of a deal, it's kind of annoying to hear from different creators who are reacting.
@@fredwin I'm just kinda sick of him complaining about demonetization when he has 32k subs and he doesn't make much money from the videos anyway. Its like just play the video, stop caring so much about demonetization. :|
@@LethalByChoice Yeah. I enjoy most of videos but this is kind of primadonna-esque behavior. He's simply watching these videos, he's not adding anything or giving any spin on it that could be considered transformative. There's nothing in here his expertise was useful for or that he had to research for. I think we all knew before the video that driving ATVs in a combat area was dangerous, and that insurgents are not fond of airstrikes. Sometimes he just needs to realize people just want him to react to stuff because they think it's funny, and that if he's not adding anything he's literally benefitting off someone's hard work and shouldn't complain.
i agree, stopped watching this video the minute he started commenting on it, not gonna watch him anymore either. 2 bad, was fun up until this started
@@LethalByChoice He's not crying, its just a joke from the first episode when he talked about SovietWomble's monetisation and stuff
ARMA is pretty much just the civilian version of the VBS programs used by the military, made by the same developers I believe.
I believe the reason Soviet couldn't be revived or killed was they accidentally set the mission mode to Last Man Standing as long as a player was still able the mission would continue until all players were down so as long as Cyanide was alive all Soviet could do was spectate until someone finished the mission or Cyanide was downed
Nah, iirc he bugged out. Apparently it was a known bug which may occur when getting killed while wearing scuba gear.
I still wanna watch this dude play through the entire arma 3 campaign
2:05 pro tip, if you press ,< or .> on your keyboard, you go frame by frame on UA-cams player, so you don't need to spam pause! (the keys top right of the space bar, if that didn't make sense) ♥
this guys video breakdowns are pretty interesting im glad the yt algo showed me you
I have to say that ATV:s make a lot of sense in a woodland terrain, you can use them to carry food, munitions, tents, stoves, ect and use them for Medevac or as runners in a terrain where most vehicles including MBT:s struggle.
Also its possible to mount on them some weapons like a a grenade machine gun and shoot&scoot. Risky? Definitely but on the other side extremely annoying.
Okay that ufo joke caught me off guard and about killed me.
ikr. it's underrated
Unless military diving suits for scuba are different than civilian models, which they are for purpose but I mean for material, they’re not made of a poly urethane... it’s made of a synthetic rubber like foam called Neoprene. Acts as a second skin, compressing to minimize space that heat can be lost through and to protect the skin from abraisives and light cuts.
Another very informative video in the midst of Arma satire video, good stuff thanks!
"not that there's any plot"
Oooooh, there will be.
"Not that there's any plot"
well.... not yet
Despite the A-10 being a repairman's worst nightmare, it is a terrifying thing to see hammering towards you.
3:20 When you talked about landing in a drop zone with no friendlies and enemies that close is a recipe for disaster, i guess in real combat even landing near friendlies, with not many enemies nearby is still really dangerous, as it happened with Super-61 and 64 in Mogadishu, right? Also iirc Super-63 also was almost shot down while dropping the two guys that went for the 64 pilot.
You remember almost correctly. Blackhawk Super 63 was almost shot down providing air support for Delta Snipers SFC Randall Shughart and MSG Gary Gordon. It managed to return to base, despite both having both engines taken out.
@@TheAKgunner Thanks for correcting me, and man, when he said it can go from normal to a trainwreck if a heli is shot down, i couldn't help but remember the story, and i can't even imagine the stress and effort it took those guys just to reach the crash sites, then having to hold them until dawn. Whole thing just spiralled down to disaster.
@@ygorschuma3059 A disaster made worse by how the decisions made at the National Command Authority level. Did you know General Garrison, commander of Task Force Ranger, asked for an AC-130 gunship and a wing of Apache helicopters to support his troops, but was told, by President Bill Clinton, that he couldn’t have them?
This also reminds me of the disastrous Jaffna University Helidrop in 1987. Imagine trying to conduct the Mogadishu mission (of capturing the entire rebel top command) with just four medium lift helicopters at your disposal (no light helos or ground convoy), so instead of landing all troops in one go, you have to ferry the troops in waves. Oh, and the enemy has snipers. And its a night mission with none of your troops having NVG. And the intel brief for the mission said no significant resistance expected on the ground whereas the ground situation was that the intel was compromised and the enemy has set up an ambush. Yeah, it went just about as well as you'd imagine.
@@death_parade Damn!
You should react to Rimmy - Downunder Gaming. He has quite a few Warhammer themed Arma Ops with high production and funny moments. I'd highly recommend
or also RubixRaptor. that guy also has good videos.
Don't forget DarkLiberatorZone
Kenneth
I’d like to add my voice to suggesting RimmyDownUnder
Not only is he playing ARMA
He’s playing ARMA modded to 40K or Halo
Great team coordination
Some Shenannigan video from Liru? Or Nordern, I think they are easyer on the monetization-side...
it's not much but to support the sovietwombling i'm going to try liking everything i see you post
5:40 Paul: "The helmet's your first line of defence against getting concussed." Soviet: "That's what she said."
Future reference: you can use the left and right arrow keys to go frame by frame
You mean comma and dot key, arrow keys move video by 5s.
Love your react videos because you always give explanation and knowledge how military things work in real life.
Be interesting to see your take on some of the more 'serious' arma groups. Not the hardcore yessit no sir types but the ones that commit to realistic type ops. Dslyecxi from the Shacktac has a massive playlist
I feel like it may be better to pause to talk between clips, as sometimes the humor and stuff is better based on timing. Of course not if pointing out something specific in a frame though.
Or atleast rewind 5 seconds
The speil about the chaplain role in the military was a bit much tbf
@@PoxMuffin Yeah. But definitely would have been better after that clip ended. Pausing it really messed up the timing.
To be honest, the pausing in general is kinda annoying
About the corrugated steel bit, when playing ArmA, I once lit up half my squad through a thin wooden shed. Fired at an enemy insurgent hiding in the building, just as my squad mates were preparing to breach the back door... Filled both the insurgent, and my squad memembers, with a lot of rounds from a 240.. No one was happy about that.
2:30 Common misconception of people: UFO = alien. UFO could be anything, maybe it's just a fly.
Yep. "Unidentified Flying Object." If you don't know what it is, it's a UFO. The instant you figure out what it is, it becomes an "IFO." Three guesses what it stands for.
@@CiaranMaxwell this reminds me of a instruction book for paper planes describing one of them as "Unidentified Flying Object" i i think i just got that joke after....more than 10 years lol
That smile at 6:49. Yeah feel the pain
In the future, you can pause a youtube video and advance it one frame at a time forwards by hitting the > key, and backwards by hitting < . Makes it easier to catch things like when you tried to catch the bug on screen. All you have to do is get relatively close to the time frame then start hitting the > key until you see what you want
Man, i love these.
MOAR WOMBLE! Yey!
I wish that you had spoken more about the smoked chapel scene. Like that is a sign of God that he was right next to the grenade and yet was completely fine.
You can use "" keys to play a video frame by frame.
I can't wait until he gets to Part 8.
Random idea, but do you think you can react to every single Call of Duty Treyarch Zombies Cutscene?
I suggest watching Rimmy Downunder's Arma 3 videos... especially "American Cowboys in Afghanistan"
Arma 3 take's place in 2035, most of it's equipment is "near future" technology.
10:12 Yeah, some helos with wheeled landing gear usually have weight on wheels switch that prevents fireing on ground. I'm not sure about that specific model though.
Fuck me,but that deadpan campfire shitslinging was even funnier than the clip.
You know, if you use the , and the . keys, you can skip forward and backwards by frame. Saves the *frantically hammers space* kind of thing.
watched this multiple times...first time seeing the bird at the start thanks to this man
If you want a break from sovietwomble and his "interesting" language, may I suggest watching the CSGO trailer?
Yo, havent seen you react to Simo Häyhä yet (the deadliest sniper in military history), that'll be an interesting video.
yeah I just put clearly labeled, color coded squares or triangles on my maps for briefings lol. Kept it simple for the pilots XD
"The helmet is you first line of defense against being concussed."
*presses play....
Video: ..."That's what she said"....
This made me laugh harder than it probably should have.
You think the ATVs make no sense? You should see Womble's Command Utility Vehicle. I think it's in part 9
7:10 That is a fictional Vehicle called ZSU-39 Tigris used by CSAT and it is classified as "Self-Propelled Anti-Aircraft vehicle" and it has two 35mm autocannon and AA missiles. Thats all My knowledge about it
5:33 shootout to him for not wearing a helmet, that's your first line of defense for not getting concussed.
That's what she said
so just a thing for you to know incase you don't, you can use the side arrow keys, to go back or foward 5 seconds at a time
6:20, so like lining up the plans for a building the way the building is oriented so you can see where stuff goes?
Do chaplain instantly get promoted to the rank of Captain? Haven't seen any of them with rank lower than that.
But then again, I rarely see any military chaplain around that much since I'm a civvie.
Pro youtube tip the j and k keys move frame by frame through the video
Just waiting until "the shotgun" scene in like episode 6
These videos are probably the most I've learned about the military my whole life.
I recommend 7 Days in Fallujah and give your opinion on that? It’s a extremely realistic shooter, it’s based on real experiences from solders who experienced it first hand
You can reduce the speed at wich the video plays. Like that you don't have to try and click to get the fly into the frame
I don't know if you read comments on older videos, but when you were advancing that bit of the video by pausing and unpausing - you can use the , and . buttons on your keyboard to advance youtube videos frame by frame, making it much easier to spot stuff like that.
1:00 hands occupied, sounds drowned out, preoccupied with driving rather than looking around, being loud, and being a constant-speed tall profile target. What could go wrong?
Idk if you'll see this but there's an Arma 3 UA-cam that goes by Rubix Raptor that had some arma 3 scp gameplays that you might like since it's Halloween season
I'd personally recommend the WW2 SCP video or his most recent one
"OMG, they should never given them vehicle. This is a recipe for a disaster."
ZF is the disaster.
'not that theres any plot'
*insert antistasi
ATV's are decently popular in the light recon role.
At least you take it with humor
I see funker videos with SF guys using quadbike ATV's though.
Didnt know Chaplins are a thing, thought it was just a 40k thing
3:05 that's a Lord of the Rings reference.
A series I would also suggest watching and reacting to is Nordern's Arma 3 series as well as his War Thunder series as they are also very good.
That's no fighter jet, that's just random insects flying over the screen ;)
Arma's bullets will pass through that steel shed without losing a lot of punch. You an basically blast through it with that machinegun and hit anything that is behind. ArmA does terminal ballistics right! :)
In Afghanistan, whenever we were in contact and you heard an aircraft in the sky, the fight was _OVER!_
The Taliban would just disappear as fast as they arrived!

On the atv thing funnily enough i believe you can actually have another 2 soliders sit on the racks at the back and front to shoot and yes it is as dumb as it sounds
you remind me of that uncle that tells jokes that makes no one laugh, and it is not about jokes being not funny, but unlce being too serious
