I use to be on this game all day. Nothing was as important as taking my squad to the chip. I played as the bulls and had Roster Player number 99 light it up all day.
Me too. The whole soundtrack was great but this one stood out from the rest for some reason. IDK it was just real smooth and chill. I'd take stuff like this over the real music 2k puts on their games any day of the week.
This was my favorite song on the live 98 soundtrack. Probably the first Basketball game I really played A Lot. All the lives were great back than up until 2004. 2006 being the last one I liked.
@@brianflowers9588 Dang man you missed out then. 06 was like the first Sim game that you could really be that playmaker with Magic, Steve Nash, etc. and it was the first to give you control of the type of crazy Dunks you could do with the likes of Dr J, MJ, Nique and the rest too.
The bass really makes this song. A very funky/jazzy track. The background vocals are nice too. I would always let this be the primary track to play during the menus. Much better than all the commercial hip hop stuff they put in basketball games now.
Ken G I disagree the bass doesn’t make the song , it’s good as it is . The bass just adds to the track overall making it funky/ jazzy There’s nothing wrong with commercial music if you like it
Thanks the comment! Tekken 3 had a awesome soundtrack. One of my fave PS1 games. I think know of a few songs that come to mind that sound like this one.
Appreciate the comment. I feel you. I was 15 when this game came out!! Was always my favorite menu song. Id just sit and let it play while I did homework or just chillin out sometimes haha.
+Ammar Napata I'm aware of that. I noted that in the description. Possibly could have been a edit someone did but I thought it looked cooler with Jordan.
@@LoneTaurus82 I agree that it looks really cool. Its a Shame that we didn't get to use Jordan in NBA Live games throughout the 90s.But oh well, Live 2000 made up for that in a great way.
@@dagameplayer That's probably why I have him in the Bulls roster, it looks like this: Luc Longley Rasheed Wallace Scottie Pippen Michael Jordan Jason Williams Toni Kukoč Danny Manning Eldridge Recasner Dale Davis Ron Artest Brent Barry Sean Rooks David Wingate Corey Benjamin
Nostalgia. The ladies harmonizing can be from a neo soul track.

This takes me back when I got my Ps1 getting up every Saturday morning . I played this track more then the others

The first 20 seconds always had me hooked.
Please tell me I'm not the only one who used to press start and hold it to watch the pictures stroll by
You aren't I did that all the time!!
Jordan on the cover would have been epic damn this music brings back memories
SG Player finally made the cover!!
Glad you like it!! I thought it sucked EA couldn't get rights to MJ for this game since he was retired in 98.
the legendary #89 Roster Player

04 was the last one for me

@@dagameplayer I really wasnt a fan of that one cause it seem too Arcade to me. And it's already arcade
05 was the last one for me with the dunk contest 06 didn’t have that affect 07 was garbage after that they lost momentum
2k5 is when NBA 2k took over
That bass tho!!! 0:42

@@samplingmastersxlr8660 Agree to disagree. Most songs can be made/broken with bass playing.
@@WMB6022 yes and no but I see your point
OMG, WHAT A SOUND!!!
There was a similar, funky sound in Tekken 3, which was released around the same time...

@@DatOneGuy901 Took the words out my mouth, that soundtrack was better than the arcade version

They should bring this theme back on the newer Live games.
Live is dead
2K Games monopolizing the genre right now.
