Wow, the glass in those window channels runs like factory smooth goodness. Good luck with the wagon project, cant wait to see it finished. As a 65 Chevelle 4 Dr wagon owner, I understand some of the additional quirks you have to go through when working on wagons. Keep up the good work, a 2 door find these days is amazing.
Lucky I never knew the windows slided in the wagon Wow that's crazy lol I love the wagon and the netherbutt yellow is my favorite too I've seen in the episode of hot rod garage you said I hate spraying this primer over the nutter but yellow I caught that 1 brother love what you're doing please keep it going
Nice progress! I'm liking the complimentary "Lucky Costa Educational Series" - must be wonderful working on stuff that's not slathered in disgustingness, lol!
Such a great day when you post Lucky. I’ve had a lot of great influences in my life getting me into hot rods and I whole heartedly throw you into that group. Love watching you make great progress on these awesome builds at such a pace! With a real good attitude too. It kicks me into drive to spend money I shouldn’t and time I have to wrench myself! Had a sweet 67 fleetside shortbed C-10 the same color as this Wagon. Wanted to dump money into it and make it a real hot rod, but I came into a 1970 LS6 454 El Camino and had to sell the truck to get it. Just put a TKX 5 speed in it last weekend. Got rid of the Richmond Super T-10 it had. BIG upgrade. It’s got 373’s but I just ordered 410’s. She’ll be on the road again soon. Thanks for always posting such great content Lucky!
A bit of arcane info - I believe they were introduced to the ceiling industry from the aircraft industry by Johnny Shenk. He headed Armstrong's Installation School for years after serving in the air force. You are correct, one trade name is Wedge Lock. We knew them as "Shenk clips".
hello I'm working on basically the same project 1970 ss wagon but I put a Buick stage one in her watching you has already helped me with my tubular front suspension replacement thanks and looking forward to you're next training video for the needy like me
I used heavy binder clips from the office store to install headliners. Those might work in a pinch for gluing these run channel on also. Thanks for sharing Lucky!
I had the coil over on my firebird and I am taking them off. I have gotten a new set of upper and lower control arms but I will use regular size springs. To keep my ride much nicer in the front. Our street have to many pot holes and spings are so much better than coil overs.
Looks like the same felt tracks I use to rebuild doors on " RD MACK TRUCKS " 1965 - 2005 , far as I know there still available from MACK , actually pretty popular , do to the fact that they keep rebuilding those trucks over & over !
Lucky, I just added the Alden circumferential bearings below the spring and above the adjusting nuts. Makes adjusting much easier for cheap money. I have a 46 Ford PU with a narrowed crown vic front end and Alden coilovers on a triangulated four link. 468 big block Ford with aluminum heads. Can't wait for summer here in MA.
Hey Lucky! I have a butternut '69 Impala Custom I'm working on here in London, England. The whole steering is worn out and probably original and all balljoints need to be replaced so will likely go tubular upper and lower control arms and Aldan American coilovers when I replace the tie rods, etc. Very new to mechanics but giving it shot. You've also inspired me to put a line-lock of some kind on it... for safety when I take the car to Mexico.
Killer deal Lucky! How about showing your buddy with the blue 65 chelleve I saw a glimpse of on the episode when I believe you upgraded a 69 396 chelleve suspension and possibly the front brakes all the while not to do more than was needed. Anywho, have a great day wrenching on your sweet ride
Hey Lucky Doing coilovers on a 57 chevy truck. Using G body suspension with Kimbridge front frame stub. Been having trouble getting it high enough. Going to have to use 1” spacers to raise it, squeezing the spring to get 2 more inches of height makes the ride harsh. Just another hurdle.
I agree with you about the firewall. I have 68 Pontiac wagon that will one day get vintage air. I was planning on the same thing with the heater box. I always thought that housing would be good to contain any electronics for a clean look
@@luckysgarageshow Also I'm Ben's friend with the charge light quandary. I ended up running the GEN light through a relay using the P terminal on a AD244.
thats called bailey channel in thoses windows used in a lot of 40's through 60's cars and trucks i was told mac trucks still use it in there trucks you can get whats refered to as a soft felt channel that can be glued in works much the same way and cheaper
Man, it's sooo satisfying to watch those side windows operate so smoothly! Pretty sweet! It might be a plan to extend the u-channel a bit to facilitate opening them a bit wider; I don't know how much of a pain in the ass that would be, though. The front suspension is gonna be awesome! Everything is really coming together, dude! Lookin' good! Take care, ✌️❤️🙂🇨🇦
Appreciate your work Lucky! Looking forward to your install of the Baer brakes on this cruiser, I'm interested in a set for my fox body! Keep the videos coming!
hey Lucky, l'm building a '46 chevy coe rust rod on a motorhome chassis... lot's of plumbing to couple up... it's a driver now with a lot of loose ends to button up... looking forward to meeting you some day
Hey, since you're working on this longroof... I can't help but ask what's going on with the Fury? Did you pass it along, or are you planning on doing a big three collection of vintage wagons?
Finally starting my 70 Chevelle build that was my first car at 16, now I’m approaching double nickels. Of course it will be LS. Just trying to decide what suspension/brake package to order.
I'm redoing a 75-year-old 1946 chevy two-door sedan my dad and I built it about 30 years ago I just found and bought she needs window felts thus asking who you bought u channel felts for your 64
Fun Fact: Lucky Costa actually only works on cars when the camera's are rolling. The rest of the time he relaxes in a luxury trailer he leases from Will Smith. Then a team comes in and builds the car and Lucky only returns for the reveal of the finished product. #superstarmechanic #luckylove
Hey Lucky love all your content. I’m currently building a 2016 mustang with a 1962 F100 Unibody body swapped on top. Also a LS Turbo 1978 zephyr. Keep up the good work!!
hey lucky, looks like it will be a nice wagon. the spindle you used looks to be a dropped spindle and a taller spindle than stock? those pol control arms can be used with the taller spindles? thanks
What? You mean to tell me that a car cannot be built from the ground up in 7 days? It is looking good. 2 door Chevelle wagons are not only hard to find, they're cool too.
Lucky, i really enjoy the vids & your style, but you really, REALLY, need to wear a mic. Every time fake John takes the cam & you turn away, the audio craps the bed, and we miss out on the '' lucky-isms '' 😥Stay healthy dude 👍
When you're done with it, make sure you load it on the truck carefully and give the shipper explicit instructions to treat it like a faberge egg on it's way to me okay? haha , lol j/k , but I think you're doing a splendid job and you've ruined it for me wanting one because now I won't be original .. peace out , chucks
These 2 door wagons (64-65 Chevelle) are rare cars. Cool build.
Especially one that isn't rotted out.
My grandson (Ed IV) has my old 65 Chevelle. He's just getting into it, starting with tubular front suspension! This is perfect! Thanks Buddy!!!
Real good "How To" video, I'm enjoying the progress on the wagon!
Thanks 👍
The long roof is cool in many ways lucky shows us the most forgotten using roof as tool storage. Great car man..

Very cool Wagon Lucky, i really dig the sliding back glass and that frontend is SWEET..
Really liking your wagon build, a good friend had a 64 - 4 door wagon that was really cool.

I like the interior painted yellow, it will add some brightness and contrast in the interior
Wagon is my favorit US car 👍🇺🇸❤
They call those clamps wedge locks, and sale them at any commercial drywall supply house, used for installing acoustical ceilings
A bit of arcane info - I believe they were introduced to the ceiling industry from the aircraft industry by Johnny Shenk. He headed Armstrong's Installation School for years after serving in the air force. You are correct, one trade name is Wedge Lock. We knew them as "Shenk clips".
Diggin' on the Wagon Lucky. Nice!

Looking good Lucky ! My first big block getting ready to motivate my C10 !
Love the wagon! I’m working on my 71 c10 just got it ls swapped and tidying up a few things.
Nice!!

Cheers!
I like the body colour in the interior, who cares what the factory did. Just my thoughts 💭
That's a nice setup. I run Aldan coilovers on my Duster that has been front halved.

👍👍👍👍👍
Currently doing a Qa 1 kit on my 65 El Camino so nice seeing the installation.
That was too easy 🙂 looks good 👍
Great video, the wagon is really coming together nice. Umm I think your lunch is ready, I hear the microwave beeping.
Nice working side windows, that will be nice when not running air, like the blk air box also,,stay safe out their
Great video Lucky, I will be doing the same on my '69 Cutlass wagon soon. Just finishing up installing the frame brace kit.
I have a 59 Chevy Apache truck. Prepping for My first Power Tour.

Love your steady way you go after the installation. I am building a Crown Hick (641/2 F100 t0 2008 P71), not as fast but loving the challenge.

You can also get those clips at local home center. They are used for installing drop ceilings

Really nice wagon!! Great job guys ❤️ love from the farm
Thanks for watching! 😎

I would reconsider black interior for a semi gloss or flatish shade of non-metallic silver. Either way I love the wagon. Cheers!

Hey, since you're working on this longroof... I can't help but ask what's going on with the Fury? Did you pass it along, or are you planning on doing a big three collection of vintage wagons?
I just went through this on my 65 Chevelle. Although I opted for a Hotchkis TVS kit with 2" lowering springs and Fox shocks versus coilovers.
Great video again. 👍👍

Butternuts = Lucky's nickname in high school. (Bahahhaha...I love Dad jokes) - Seriously - this wagon is going to be so nice.
I love your work both here, and on Motortrend! You should do a TROG car sometime.

You do superior work, Lucky!
I try
Hey Lucky! Can you step by step the vintage air install? I'm getting one and I'm a little nervous..
ooooo i love those clips

Lucky I am going to do some home nickel plating. I think I could re plate with nickel that latch on the sliding window for you. Let me know
Hey, how do you like the rack and pinion on the chevhell? Is it that much better than a fancy box?
Lucky what size tires are on your shop truck?
hey lucky, looks like it will be a nice wagon. the spindle you used looks to be a dropped spindle and a taller spindle than stock? those pol control arms can be used with the taller spindles? thanks
I got the same Station Wagon where did you get your parts from????
What motor are you putting in. Will it be auto trans or clutch, nice build.
Hey Lucky how do you get the grease gun to the fittings when they point up towards the frame? Seems odd. Sorry if someone already asked the question.
where did you get the u chanel felt .?
Nice work on the windows. What paint did you use to paint the frame?
Looks great, it's going to be a nice cruiser that's for sure
Just out of curiosity, do you prefer the Aldans over QA1's?
Have a 64 chevelle 300 sedan .. will those coilovers work on factory control arms?
That anti seize can get messy in a hurry.
🤣
