This episode i make a start on this ford fiesta 1.0 (non ecoboost ) having a look at the front damage behind the bumper
Then taking off the slam panel crash bar rad pack
I also take down the oil sump too see if the oil pick up is blocked
Change the doors and keep these and have a go at pulling the dents out when you have any free time between projects. That way you'll be learning more, plus if you do a decent job you'll have a couple of spare doors for another project late later on
Yes you have done really well today you should be very pleased with yourself
Hi Mark, if you can get two doors in colour why not change them and then when you have some spare time repair the two doors you take off so you have them for a future project in the long term they will save you money 👍👍

Mate, change the doors (£100) it’s a no brainier ... you could keep the old doors and try a “repair vid” if your ever stuck for content 🤔

Even you cannot polish out dents Mark!! Best to replace those two doors if the figures add up. Otherwise what a cracking days work!

Hi Mark. Change the doors with ones from stock. You can pratice on the old ones, (Pulling out the Dents). Off/On camera. Expanding your "Learning Curve"

For £50 a door definitely worth changing. You could probably get £50 a door back by selling the damaged ones on eBay. Free then!

Wow Mark you certainly cracked on with work. Were the front cross members damaged or not, I got a bit confused? Im looking to move from messing with cars as a hobby to trying to make a living. Just wondered how you handle insurance, what kind of policy you have and if you recommend your broker or insurance company? Don’t want to make a mistake with setting up. Any help is gratefully appreciated. Loving watching the Fiesta videos and looking forward to the Abarth coming back.
Hi Mark, I think the oil pickup/ blockage issue is more down to the lack of oil changes
When you inspected yours you can see the oil and sump are clean which is a good sign of regular oil change, generally engines have this type of pick with the little mesh, I can see any reason for it to get blocked other than because of old oil, gunky residue in the sump !
Also when will the abarth be back to finish it off! itching to see the road test 👍😉
Thanks buddy I have looked into the oil pick up problem with this engine and it seams the belt that runs in the oil (timing belt ) breaks down and little pieces of the belt gets stuck in the pick up pie Fords are aware of this problem and have now changed the belt and I do have the Abarth back from paint but haven’t been able to do any filming hopefully next week I can have a good weekend buddy stay safe 👍👍😷

Yes I forgot about that, you did show the belt in the oil, I can't believe it runs threw the oil, never seen that on an engine before 🤔
Surly it should stay dry!
Or it will degrade with oil or grease, what a strange design.

Ford had a dodgy supply of them cam belts where the belt started to break down and block the oil pick up, but i believe they sorted this out now. Only older models affected.

Ford what a crap company lol always making dummy and silly errors with catastrophic consequences in relation to basic engineering/Design, or they just forgot something or make things wrong for example the crappy RS FOCUS open deck/head gasket issue lol 😆

@@TimeTraveller3256 All manufacturers have their faults, just some more than others, even my BMW had to be recalled for an EGR cooler replacement, apparently it was a fire hazard lol.

Believe the oil pressure light! If it goes off straight away after the engine starts I'd say it was fine, if it needs a rev before it goes out or flickers/glows then you have a problem. Most of the problems are caused by people using the wrong oil grade specification for the engine. It's like DPF blockages aren't helped by people using standard diesel oil in the engine rather than low ash specification oil cos it costs more. Think it was hit on the OSF and shunted into a ditch on the near side which had a hedge. 100 quid for 2 good doors is cheap and would be cheaper than paint. You could do with one of those little scissor lifts, that would fit your space.
