HI Tony, what actual mileage can I claim for my sole trader business travel... e.g. if I travel 20 miles to perform work from A (home) to B (working destination), then travel B to A do I claim 45p x 20miles or 45 x 40miles... i.e for a 1-way only calim or for the full 2-way journey?.. thankyou in advance.
Hello. If im self employed and claiming business mileage rather than the actual expenses, do i still have to keep all receipts and records? Or instead simply record the mileage in a log as evidence?

Can I be the only person on here who finds the mileage allowance set at 0.45/mile/10,00 miles a complete and utter farce?? This ridiculous allowance has been set at this figure since 2011. Since then, fuel prices have soared, so where is the fairness in this? Also, a lot of employers will not even allow this sum, and you have to try to claim back the deficit as a tax relief. Why do people come on here mealy mouthed and sheepishly complicit when glaring inequality exists?
