I can't believe it's been almost 20 years …I miss being a middle schooler, leaving my ps2 on to fall asleep to this music... nostalgia in this franchise!
"This is where we sat that night, the seven of us. I've never talked about it. I didn't want to share my memories. I wanted to keep that feeling, this place within me forever. Now look at it."
The greatest song from FFX-2! I love this song! I used to just stand still in Zanarkand to hear this song on loop, it’s that good! Not only that, I was spending an evening in a beachfront city in my home state, and I put this song on, it really fit with the ambience of the city I was in! The best song in Final Fantasy history, at least imho.
Okay, so, Chrono Cross has a song called Chronopolis, and it has the EXACT same backbeat as this song. Identical. Just go listen to the first minute of that, and this again. I can't unhear it. Best heard at 0:40 in this song and the very start of Chronopolis.
Thats why i was so addicted to this song (still am) back when i was still in middle school. I happen to absolutely love love love chronopolis theme too.
here because I also went on a journey to find songs with this sound that fill me with nostalgia, there is another one in this song that I recognize from the X-files and Metroid prime hunters. I think there is a track from Mass effect that uses these samples but I cant find it atm, anyways be well!
I remember playing this right after X and oh man i have never explored the mostly same world again with a whole void in my heart. its the same old Spira, free of Sin, but still it felt almost like I was homesick the whole playthrough.
When I was a kid I had a fever heard the EXACT beginning of this song during a dream years before I even knew what a "Final Fantasy Ten Two" even was and I was so weirded out when I actually heard it in-game. Freaky stuff.
I cant grasp the time and how much it went away, I only know thst now Im 21 and since I know about myself I adored FFX and FFX2. In a way I was always sad that there are no lot of ppl who talk about these games anymore. Im glad that somewhere on yt thede comments still exist as a proof that Im not alone but still....i feel so scared that one day this all thing will fade away. Truly masterpiece of it's time. I hope that one day I will talk about this game with more ppl.
Hope you are doing well, I FINALLY beat this game and man have I been in my feelings with it haha. The aesthetics in this game from music to art is truly on a level all to its own, and naturally the nostalgia that wells up when hearing Zanarkand ruins is intense. It may one day fade away, but man am I grateful I got to be alive to hear this music, and play these games, Its incredible how much of an impact these mediums make on us in our lives!
i think what i like the most about ffx is that it also has a sec part of the story and even if ppl didnt really liked it i really adore the fact that i can see the future of Spira and what other characters are doing now, even having a girl power in the game! when it comes to Zanakard i think not only its bad that it became a tourist attraction (later on they stopped doing that) it also brings lots of memories for Yuna that im sure she wanted to keep it as a secret in her memory, not allowing anyone to be there to destroy her memories. I was as well pissed off when someone stood at the exact same place Tidus was in first game.
nostalgia hit me harder than the crossfade im on. i was 8-10 when i first heard this im going to be 28 in a few hours and it still hits like the first day. This was my first fully engrossed rpg before kh2 and they are tied for soundtracks they straight stand on business.
Damn - that was what i was thinking when i played the game as a kid - like 20 years ago... every time when i turned off my playstation and went to bed.. i was imagining how i would live somewhere in spira .. Love FFX and X-2 !
Was listening to this song just now and I thought exactly the same. Looked up some youtube videos to see if more people noticed that it's very much like Chronopolis. The resemblance is uncanny.
There’s still one thing I’m trying to figure out about this very tune, and if anyone knows the answer to this, please reply and let me know. The opening instrument on this song, is that bagpipes or a synthesizer?
Its sad no outlet online that i can find that has records of vgm has thia soundtrack. I searched everywhere i can think and short of downloading a yt videoi just keep running into the version form X1 which...its great but this one hits different like a nostalgic trip. I could imagine this being the seaon 1 outro of a Zoids series 😂or Gundam series. So peaceful...
Hahaha no need, but thanks anyway :). If you really want to do something for me, you can check some of my original music here on the channel. Just if you feel like it :)
That's what I though too when I played it for the first time in 2008. I gave it a try a few years ago in 2020 and I really liked it, absolute cringe, but pretty fun gameplay. And well of course, the soundtrack.
honestly have to disagree, it's definitely not as good as FFX but I adored the ending and the details. Honestly pretty though game to beat with all kind of game tactics there are.
