I remeber doing the same to my front fenders on the 52 f1 and adding patch panels from LMC on the bottoms the four fenders took for ever to repair . I'm going to buy that cutting tool next time I go to HF . Great video .
That was a really helpful video! I’m working on my 1950 F1, and I have that same area to deal with. Actually mine looks like it was smashed in an accident, and somebody welded the lower fender pieces to the uppers. Anyway, thanks! New subscriber, here. 👍 Tony B
You have come a long way on that '68 Mustang it looks great. That would be another car I would like to pick up some day a '51 F1 Ford would be great. I can see the owner has the right man for that job on those fenders. I saw those harbor freight shears before but never knew if they we any good but seeing is believing it works great. Those spot welds are always hard for me with my shaky old arthritic hands so bought a spot welding attachment for my Mig welder. You are doing a phenomenal job cant wait to see how you repair the rest.
With patch panels running $150-170 ish, I recently found out about metal spraying. They sandblast till clean, spray this hot metal, electrically charged (steel, stainless, bronze, etc.) against backing material. Then grind down to grade.
Hi, I'm not an auto body repair person but I'm curious is there ever a situation where you would make some kind of flanges to help place a repair piece? Thanks
You've got some "mad" metal skills, Jo!!! Love watching your videos! Thanks for taking your time to show how it should be done.
your repairs are to tell from the original metal and I've put to use what you've been doing👍👍
Your metal working videos are my favorite, thanks for a great video.
Nice work Jo. Turned out great. Looking forward to the next repair.

Yes. I have done that. Depends on location, but it works.
