Your video style is the best I have seen, no BS, sped up on the repeat stuff, explanations when needed. Have learned alot from you. thanks a bunch for sharing your work.
Ok, I've binge watched your door videos...I feel like I just crammed for a test, but I feel like I'm now ready to tackle my own doors on my '69...awesome, outstanding work & very helpful & inspiring as always! Best truck restoration channel on UA-cam...you just can't outdo a man who's working to please himself! Much respect, & I hope I have the opportunity to run into you at a show when I get mine done so I can thank you in person for all your help & guidance...🖖🏿😎👍🏿
Thinking, doing, taking care of business and done right. Each one is different, but hammer welding your spots, hitting them with air, sealing it up. Brother, I would send anyone to you to have that repair. ASE Master Tech since 1978 - Retired
Hey... I gotta thank you. These videos have improved my welding 100%. I have been using the method you showed to replace steel on my 76 square body. The welding is going so much better. Thanks man. You have a real knack for teaching and your video editing make it fun to watch. Keep it up. You have some dedicated fans who are really learning from this.
you are the man!!!! omg thank you for these videos!!! I have a 62 c10 fleetside short bed and because of you it's going to be a TON less painful! i'm having fun at it, omg, but i get stuck! you, may i call you sir? you sir are one hell of an awesome person!!! thank you for all the help getting me unstuck!!!!!
Excellent videos. No B.S. or yammering on like others. You're a true craftsman and I appreciate you sharing your skills so others can learn. Thank you.
You are a craftsman without a doubt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love your work. I will be attempting this in a few days on my 98 but with a flux core (it's all I got).
Rick Kimble hey Rick... I am also using flux core. Before I watched Mr Gibson I was blowing metal all over the garage. My welds were awful. The biggest take away I got from this is taking the time to prep the joints so there is absolutely no air gap. Then it's just a tiny 1/2 second trigger pull to make a tiny button of weld. Patience and preparation is the key.
People don't realize how much cutting and test fitting goes on! You do a great job of showing what you're doing and speeding through some of the tedious stuff.
Awesome restoration work! Definatly inspiring, I have a old VW bus that i will need to be doing the same to. Its awesome that we can get repair panels to help the job along. Thanks for taking the time to produce these videos! Back in the day, we were all just figuring as we went along, thank goodness for UA-cam!
I really like your videos mate, no BS and you point out the critical things to get right. I am about to go to town on a Ra28 Celica fastback so this has me excited.
Thanks for posting these videos! I've got a 63 big window I'm doing now. Getting ready to start the rust repair. Saw you frame houses in comment, I had a business framing for nearly 20 years here in Texas. Furniture maker now. Thanks again for the videos, gives me a huge head start.
Great work! I appreciate the no nonsense tips. I've been a mechanic and welder for years, but was always intimidated by body work. You've inspired me to do my own rust repair on my 69' Ford truck. Luckily there's not as much of it as you're dealing with so it'll be be a good beginners project for me.
As always, love watching you work. You make it look "possible" for those of us who haven't tried this yet. As usual, it turned out very nice providing even more "inspiration". Thank you.
Another great video you look like the man to go to for door bottom repair. Loved the job you did on the red truck looks amazing wish we had those classic style here in the U K
Real neat job. Makes me wanna get outside and do my thing man. But at 23:00hrs I gotta wait till morning. Keep it up fella. You'll soon be thinking of the next project no doubt. 🇬🇧
Good stuff, metal work is looking good. I gotta get me one of those stud welder deals, that looks like the ticket to work out any heat warp from closed areas you can't get a hammer and dolly on.
Jay Dipps the stud welder is also good for shrinking metal I used it on my cab corner on my red truck to get the tin can effect out, heated the panel up then put cold water on it
I am working on a 71 C20. And your videos have helped me learn and figure things out, i have pretty much zero experience welding and fabrication. But today i just put in a bed side patch where a saddle tank fuel door used to be. Any advice on mig welder settings for better welds on sheet metal for these old trucks ?
I was jonesing pretty hard for this vid. They are some of my favorites. If possible would love to see how you stripe the paint prior to patch. I think you use a flap disk ? Keep posting love the content
hey do you have new video of your brother truck . like to see it finish ibeen look for your new video . ilike your approach on how you assassin the work . its help . for a one man & garage you do excellent work . God bless you
Scott Maxwell I'll wire wheel the frame down and maybe brush on some rust encapsulated, I sand blasted the frame on my red truck epoxy/coated black, not going that far with this truck just a daily driver down country roads
I have watched this build for info when I am working on my 59 apache. I am doing something similar, fix the holes and drive it. What are you/your brother going to do with all the patch panels to blend them into the old Patina, or are yall deciding to paint it? I am trying to keep the old patina so I was curious. Keep up the good work!
Dustin Sayre just going to blend it in the best I can knowing it’s not going to match, but that’s fine for now my brother will use this truck around the farm until he decides what he will do
Steve, as usual a big thanks to ya. Learning a bunch from you. Just a wish thought ... how about you open and close your video with you picken. Was that a banjo behind you in your music video ? Steve, thanks again brother. WW
72 Monte Started framing on two big houses and a good size addition got to get these jobs finished I'll soon get back on this truck project all is well Thanks

Your videos are a huge help on my project: Apache
There is really a lot of hacks on UA-cam, it's nice to see somebody that knows how to do things properly.
Love your videos! No BS .... just get at it. I like how no rust seems to scare you.👍👍

When you put that much attention on the prep & fit, it makes the finish work a whole lot easier. Excellent work & videos!

I have a question. What size wire are you using in your mig welder .? Thanks
.025 wire
Very nice,subbed
true body man you are.
Did you consider using lord Fusor 110B or a 3M product instead of welding? I have doors to do and seems like would be faster.
Chester Field I’ve seen this done before but never tried it, I’d rather stick with the welds on this old pickup
One more thing, are you getting your patch panels through classic parts?
Everything Modern yes classic parts
Nice work. how long did it take you to do that?
iceman22st Thank man Never keep up with the time, just a couple of hours after work for the last three days
