I just said this on another post. That song became a lot of people’s drinking anthem. The majority of people listing to that song (and when I say majority, I’m talking ALL demographics) weren’t breaking down the lyrics. It was a catchy song and I know when that song come on at the parties I was at, people got hype, that was the song to take shots too. The song itself and what was being said didn’t promote drinking, but the base under, only because of the hook and it being a very mainstream song, slight made it a drinking anthem.

At the end of the day it’s music and your job is to make a good song not just yap a bunch of filler lyrics at a fast pace over really mediocre production. Diss song or not lyrics metaphors are only one part of a song. Beat selection and the pocket you choose to rap in on it is just as important as the lyrics, it makes and breaks songs.

Drake saying that he leaked info was an obvious angle that has no weight without proof. It gives off the image of a desperate lie. Im most likely not the only one that forecasted that response when meet the grahams dropped. Drake has more of a burden of proof than Kendrick. If he was a few steps ahead like he stated, he should have dropped the receipts almost immediately instead of waiting a few days. Being called a pedophile is no joke. The interesting thing about this particular claim is that if what he is saying is true, he would’ve had control of the receipts he is letting out. The difference between the two is that one is a hit maker that adapts to trends while the other makes art and bends the sound to hit will. The majority of people listing to that song (and when I say majority, I’m talking ALL demographics) weren’t breaking down the lyrics. It was a catchy song and I know when that song come on at the parties I was at, people got hype, that was the song to take shots too. Drake on THP6 actually addressed what Kendrick stated in his previous 2 tracks, while Kendrick just dropped pre-recorded songs to avoid addressing accusations like Kendrick beating up his fiancé and Dave Free impregnating his fiancé.
Kendrick took the easy way out by evading the allegations, but it’s easy for him to do that when he has a near-cult following. Drake never stood a chance in the eyes of “the culture.” Kendrick literally had a 90 second letter on meet the grahams to someone who doesn’t exist, and people *still* glaze that song. Drake was doomed from the beginning.

Drake saying that he leaked info was an obvious angle that has no weight without proof. It gives off the image of a desperate lie.
Im most likely not the only one that forecasted that response when meet the grahams dropped. Drake has more of a burden of proof than Kendrick.
If he was a few steps ahead like he stated, he should have dropped the receipts almost immediately instead of waiting a few days. Being called a pedophile is no joke. The interesting thing about this particular claim is that if what he is saying is true, he would’ve had control of the receipts he is letting out. It would not be hard to back that claim by showing the world what he has been doing. Drake would’ve put Kendrick in a corner pretty easily in the eye of public opinion. Why hasn’t he done this?

The difference between the two is that one is a hit maker that adapts to trends while the other makes art and bends the sound to hit will. This means kendrick isn't always playable in a club but in terms of genuine art there's no debate he takes the cake.
