Coding Bootcamp - Week Six - I FAILED!!

- Things were going so well! I don't know what happened. My brain just didn't want to work I guess. As you know I'm a student at Southern Methodist University Coding Bootcamp. The goal is to be trained in becoming a Full Stack Developer by the end.

Ahhh, the quiz game assignment! I go to a related school right now and I remember that week well. I was stumped on a couple parts. Thank goodness for the included tutorial sessions. I did return later on as well to improve my project when I felt I had a greater understanding. Yes some of those weeks did stress me out. Learning React right now. It's the final stretch! I'm enjoying your bootcamp serious. It's true you get out of it as much as you put in.
I found your channel today. And I am glad since I am thinking of going to a bootcamp. I just found out SMU has that program. I was looking towards more for DevMountain. But the one thing Joshua Fluke said was. Is the bootcamp guarantee a job. And that got me thinking. So I am looking at more coding bootcamps than DevMountain. I am in the stage that everything is being thrown at me. Since I am trying to figure out what to do with my life. I am turning 20 in two weeks. And I just want to make the right choice and not mess up. Since my parents are supporting me in going to a coding bootcamp. They are a lil let down for me not finishing college. But I would rather do something that I really want to do.And I feel like a degree helps you but to an extent. I can become a web developer without a degree and still land a job. I know it would like a lil more longer but it is possible.
Hi Jose! Thanks for the comment. So here is my advise...You are 20 years old so you have LOTS of time to figure stuff out. I'm 38 and still trying to figure things out, lol. I think going to a coding boot camp is a fantastic idea. If you can attend a full-time boot camp that is probably what you should do. If you can attend one that guarantees a job or you don't pay then that would be great too so you don't have to worry about the money up front. You should also check out www.42.us.org . It is a 100% free boot camp in Silicon Valley, but the program is 3-4 years long. To increase your chances of success start learning JavaScript! Look over HTML and CSS, but spend most of your time in JavaScript. Best of luck and keep me posted on your progress in looking for a boot camp. Please send me any questions you have!
Don't give up man! I came across your video because I am in the process of applying for the Bootcamp at SMU. Are you doing it remotely? Also, do you receive a certificate at the end of Bootcamp?
Hi Leo, thank you for the words of encouragement. I go to the campus 3 days a week (Tues/Thur/Sat). You should totally apply, man. I'm learning a ton and for all the frustration I'm really enjoying it. I'm actually working on a homework assigment right now.
