I won't lie,I shed a tear when Hugo fell And at the scene when Alita saves Hugo, I almost cried ... I can't just say that the movie was good, because it really moved me.

I love how Viki and Lia are asking all the right questions from the get go. This will be a good movie for them.
If they make a sequel I hope Edward Norton returns back as Nova that was dope cameo he had the way he just smirks at Alita at the end

Thank You for Your reaction❤ Alita is my most favorite movie (and Rosa Salazar who played Alita [gave her that emotion and soul] became my favorite actress)❤ I am still waiting with Alita for her further fate. I hope to finally get it. I wish I could watch Alite again in IMAX. Alita's origin, the manga, is also an interesting cyberpunk story. There are some differences from the movie though. For my part, I recommend reading it. Especially since so many volumes have already been created.
I watched the anime and knew there was a manga but it wasn’t until I saw this movie in 2019 that I brought it for myself (Kodansha translation) and I was hooked! Read up to V8 of Mars Chronicles!
And I’ve been fighting for a sequel ever since that day Alita won my heart over! 🥰

It was directed by Robert Rodriguez. The script and the production was by James Cameron. I'm just saying this because the people forgot about Robert R.
Panzer Kunst, the invented martial arts here, is such wild imaginarium i still found new things about the lore here and there over time. Alita battle angel was my childhood, am so happy for this movie
The best bar-fight scene in movies! (possibly only second to "From Dusk 'til Dawn)
Hiyao Miyazaki (Studio Ghibli, maker of "Princess Mononoke" and "Spirited Away" among other masterpieces, which you should see) said that anime picked up the huge eyes from early Disney films, which do it to make the characters cute and make sure the audience focuses on the eyes as the center of emotion.
Ed Skrein (Zapan) also in Deadpool, and in early episodes of GoT as the warrior who joins Daenerys (replaced by another actor), and awesome in Maleficent 2. His last day on the set for Alita he was presented from the director with the sword.
He and Keean Johnson (Hugo) played leading characters together in "Midway", also in 2019 (playing real-life historical people, dramatized movie representation)
Rosa Salazar, and James Cameron & Robert Rodriguez are enthusiastic about a sequel, but Disney owns the distribution, and as we saw with "Treasure Planet" (the Homies should react to this old gem) and "John Carter", they have no problem with letting a good property die. It's been 3+ years, and Cameron might be able to swing it, but with no distribution or marketing from Disney, it won't get made.
Like the anime OVA movie, it obviously compresses several chapters and months of the character's time into a few minutes.
The plot has holes: Why was Chiren so immediately willing to help kill Alita? Just because of the body?
There was a bounty on the one killing those human females. Nova ruled everything and was the most probable buyer for the body parts, so he knew who was killing them, but he also put the bounty on them? And simultaneously protected Grewishka who was running the body parts collecting... Nova was probably just playing chaotic games with other's lives as he loves to do.
If her heart was so valuable and strong, why was it just thrown away? An ancient dangerous enemy just let go into the world to possibly be brought back? But then Nova could not have known that Ido would put her back together -anybody else would have taken the heart and thrown her out.

In the manga, there isn't really a connection between Alita and Hugo, She's just "young" and naive, and Hugo is just obsessed with going up. Awesome adaption and movie though
Gunnm (Alita) got at least, two different writers in Japan, and they both different what happened. The movie is "inspired" by the Japanese ones

The movie looks like it ends with a cliffhanger but Alita came out a few years ago. Im starting to loose hope that a second movie will come out at this point. I for one loved this movie and wanted a part 2 😢
I found out in a reply from someone else’s comment that there looking to make a part 2 after scraping it so I’ll try to stay positive but the initial scrap put my optimism just below 50

Last week it was mentioned that 2 Alita sequels are under production. My guess is that if we are lucky the first sequel will be released in 2025.

Alita: Battle Angel II was scheduled for release next year. Unfortunately, this movie was the last in production from the 20th Century FOX studio, before Disney bought it, which means that only Disney have the rights to make the sequel.
Alita 2 was never scheduled for release.

It was one of these movies which had not enough viewers in cinema so the second part was cancelled. But fortunetely it was very popular in streaming and James Cameron has some fable for it so a sequel was announced short time ago.
Please hope that Disney doesn't buy the rights or take over production to either manipulate it with PC or just scrap it later

Ladies, they are in the process as we speak of making a sequel however, it may not be released until around 2024 roughly, at least that is the credible rumor coming out of Hollywood at this time.

It's a good movie, and it's also pretty faithful to the original, but come on... comparing this version of Yukito Kishiro's great manga, with the anime movie that was made in 1993, is like comparing the version of "The Ladykillers" from the Coen brothers with Mackendrick's original 1955 film, or compare 2003's version of "The Italian Job", from F. Gary Gray, with Peter Collinson's original 1969 classic. This version of Alita is a good movie, no more, and the 1993 animated version , with a duration of half the time, is almost a masterpiece.

Such a shame there was not a part 2 since they set it up that way, especially given the amount of crap that has been put out the past decade.
Why Alita is universally loved world-wide, across all cultures and countries:
(Alita has taken the entire world by storm, and fkn hollywood and its sheep/cow/lemmings, is still fkn clueless, running around clucking like a chicken that's not aware that its head has been cut off, lol)
Understanding the intentional sappiness/cheeziness of the "romance" and its tragic failure:
"Hugo's (Humanity's) Fall"
Alita is 300 years old... she's been through a lot of $hit, and yet she's the most human person of all, 100% devoted to doing the right thing, to being a good person, Alita never cowers before evil, "I do not stand by in the presence of evil", she truly is "the most human person I've ever known" (as Hugo said so rightly), total sacrifice to others, "willing to give her heart, her life, and her own interests/dreams/desires for someone else". Alita knows full well how sappy and cheezy the romance was with Hugo, but she didn't care, as she wanted/needed that hopeful moment of escape, from the $hit of the world and of her life. Alita intentionally believed in Hugo, hoping he was that sappy/cheezy "perfect guy", just wanting a brief moment to smile, to forget all the $hit of her world and of her long existence, but then Hugo had to ruin it, as he wasn't that sappy cheezy "perfect guy"... Alita's one moment of escapism, her brief chance to smile and forget the world and reality, was crushed by the reality of the world and of people. No one is more human than herself, she's way more human than all other humans, and so she is constantly disappointed by the rest of humanity, and constantly having to stand up to its evil, as she's the one good person in the entire world. Alita truly is an angel, fallen down from the heavens upon this undeserving world and its undeserving humanity.
Alita inspires and causes change in everyone she encounters, she's a force of nature, a born leader, a true hero. Alita draws out the humanity in everyone through her sheer force of will and action, Alita always does what is right, she never compromises with wrongness and evil. Alita never stands by in the presence of evil, because everyone else does do so, and so must Alita rectify our own weakness with her own sacrifice for us, total selfless commitment to all others, our champion of justice, our fallen angel, our battle angel, fighting for all of us, despite how underserving we are of it and of her.
Alita is the physical embodiment of humanity, Alita is the “heart and soul of humanity” (using a quote about Heero Yuy from Mobile Suit Gundam Wing, Alita and Heero Yuy are practically siblings, lol)
(Alita even changes and unifies us, the people of the real world, watching Alita as viewers, Alita is the "speaker" for all of humanity, everyone understands Alita and her lessons of being truly human and empathetic, of being self-less and caring more about others than ourselves, sacrificing yourself for others, instead of sacrificing others for yourself)
There's a big difference between a 'superhero' and a HERO, and that is Alita, she's a HERO, not an empty superhero
