Usually when people talk about superb orchestrations on a metal album, they mention Wintersun - Time I or some of Epica's albums. While they are great, Dimmu's orchestrations are on another level. Beautiful part-writing, beautiful harmonies, beautiful overall execution. This could go straight to some film as a soundtrack.
and those two idiots of Silenoz and Shagrath fired him and Ics Vortex. Look how riddiculus are Dimmu today, abrahadabra was questionable, the new one is even worse.
So Awesome!!!!!! This can be so many things...movie soundtrack, intro to new adventure film or cartoons or even a new NFL FILMS track. Whatever...Love it!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHH.... : ))
Ahaha I actually heard this orchestral version in the game for the first time and was also surprised as hell. I didn't know there were orchestral versions and then a game using it, very nice.
Indeed, loving this album since long, this orchestral version could perfectly fit into any Star Wars Episode...but maybe it will be the new theme for any bad guy in the next part? ;)
Could you tell me what your ideas would be for such a thing? If you have any. What do you mean by "adult" and "darker"? The reason I'm asking is that I think I may be putting together something right up your alley that would appeal to your tastes, except that it isn't Batman (because it can't be lol), but still in many ways actually Batman, connecting a lot to what Batman was based on and inspired by potentially, "The Bat" (and old Play based on a book, the 1959 film being a major key to it) but quite different from that as well.
What is Mustis up to nowadays since he was booted from Dimmu for apparently "not doing anything" ahahahahahaah..... Shagrath, what an egotistical fool!
Thumbs up if you bought that shitty Insanely Twisted Shadow planet only for Progenies of the Great Apocalypse! That game sucks hard, but with Progenies of the Great Apocalypse it became a masterpiece in gaming industry!

It goes with batman
It's actualy used for Stardust trailer and even the soundtrack of at least one game (Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet)
Not to forget Septicflesh as well !
hell boy?
i dont always listen to orchestral versions of black metal songs, but when i do its a whole new eargasm
This is the kind of music I could listen to while on an epic journey in some fantasy game.
Perhaps a journey to an insanely twisted shadow planet?
🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘 HELL YEAH
two words: brütal legend
Perhaps some kind of absurd altered dark planetary object
Mustis....he knew Wagner, Mahler, Williams. This can def go into a Star Wars film. What a talent Dimmu had on those keys.
and those two idiots of Silenoz and Shagrath fired him and Ics Vortex. Look how riddiculus are Dimmu today, abrahadabra was questionable, the new one is even worse.
Danny Elfmans Batman is all over this.
For sure. Just finished listening to that just now. Lol
Idiot, For your fault now I can't stop hearing the main theme of Batman
Allow me to ruin this song for you. ua-cam.com/video/sXuFJ5OxZ0k/v-deo.html
But it's all good.
Facts. That's what I always thought.
Which music exactly are you talking about guys?
I'm just listening to "Batman 1989 Theme by Danny Elfman" and don't hear much similarity.
insanely twisted shadow planet, wish it got more attention, such a great game
What a masterpiece. Long live Dimmu Borgir!
I like this version more than the full song
Mustis adds dark melodies to every song
Shadow Of Galadriel insanely twisted shadow planet
Mustis is awesome....
Mustis was the only decent member from that band. A shame.
@@-Vitalis- Why not Vortex?
@@sweettea8493 mustis is the composer not vortex
@@shadowofgaladriel7170 That isn't what they were asking. Like, at all.
Lord Mustis it's a master
Listening to this makes the chords much easier to identify. :D
For those who are interested, the orchestrator is Gaute Storaas and he's a film music composer :)
This orchestration was composed by Mustis, who was keyboard player in Dimmu Borgir
@@ivanandrade9937 orchestrating and composing isnt the same thing u know that right ?
I love how they used this and other Dimmu Borgir orchestral for Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet
Norwegien national orchestra
sixleggedrapecentaur The Prague Philharmonic orchestra plays on this album.
So it shall be written , so it shall be Done!
Okay this legit sounds like a star wars track
So Awesome!!!!!! This can be so many things...movie soundtrack, intro to new adventure film or cartoons or even a new NFL FILMS track. Whatever...Love it!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHH.... : ))
The brass section of this is so powerful and so well arranged, just like the rest of course.
insanely Twisted Shadow Planet, bitches-I pissed the shit outta my pants when I heard this on there O.o
Ahaha I actually heard this orchestral version in the game for the first time and was also surprised as hell. I didn't know there were orchestral versions and then a game using it, very nice.

Think I'd rewatch the sequels if they had used Dimmu orchestral pieces
Love playing along to this!
I think this is probably the best song ever created in the history of mankind
calm down
@huimo4886 😂😂😂 Hey! You're here, that means you know the good stuff!

AMÉN
And they say that metal has no class >:|
Can anyone name music projects that sound like this? I like symponic black metal but I sometimes want to just listen to the symphonic parts
Fleshgod Apocalypse just recently released their album King which also has an entirely orchestral version as well.
Vokun Shul I recently discovered that album and it's one of my favorites now! Thanks!
Dimmu borgir - Gateways orchestral version
What i just want VII yeah nice one fam but that's the same band as this innit
Well,there are some bands who made orchestral versions,like Nightwish,Epica ,Kamelot,Powerwolf.....take a look :)
Insanely twisted shadow planet!
@SetiTehDog i think it's the Prague philharmonic orchestra
Hermoso la oscuridad tiene su belleza contri 333
@SetiTehDog its actually Oyvind Mustaparta, aka Mustis's Music handed down to an orchestra
Marching through the Arc de Triomphe..
i likes this!!!!
Grate 👍
Marabilloso
@SetiTehDog they worked on this album with the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra. this is the real song, just without the guitar/bass/drums/vocal.
@madamelenee It's in absolute one of my favourite songs!!! :D
The orchestra who played on their record is kalled KORK :)
Kork recorded for Abrahadabra. Here the symphonic orchestra from Prague is playing ;-)
Hellboy!
is the opposite of this out there somewhere? the band's part of the track without the orchestra. i'd love to hear that
Best
When they finally make a darker BATMAN movie for adult thinkers, they should remember to include this as a main theme.

There was this tv series that used this as its main theme. Can anybody remember the name?
Battle for Ozzfest?
@Vanishing85 very funny :D no its the orchestra of prague
Can anybody find me a trumpet tab?!?!?! I will seriously learn to play so i can play this
Batman returns theme song? Sounds a bit too familiar :D
Thank you so much!!! I have always said the same thing!!!!
2018
It's good for Star Wars
Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet? Anyone?
Jesus Christ me
Yes
i just heard the non orchestral version of this song and knew instantly where it was from
What is the name of the orchestra ? Or they just recorded as Dimmu Borgir.
Norway orchestra national
@ravenusspite for what?
@darthfener2 ITSP made this song good, i would never have considered listening to them considering how they write their music
Serious Star Wars vibes
fajna muzyko
This must be listened to with reverb.
:)
A Purified one
If Wagner, Richard Strauss, and Rachmaninov had a baby
@MaggotJoko lol :°D
Reminds me Star wars
This reminds me of the god of war 3 fights ost
Nope, this is only Mustis on cubase, he was a musical genius on strings and Orchestral stuff.
Well the actual thing was recorded by a real orchestra for the album
this is a real orchestra right ? not a vsti ?
isik akad real
@@francesco.briotti that explains lol thx for the answer cheers !
This could easily be the batman theme!
FINALLY! This is so BATMAN on a darker flight across Gotham City buildings at night.
Mustis is a god.
What is Mustis up to nowadays since he was booted from Dimmu for apparently "not doing anything" ahahahahahaah..... Shagrath, what an egotistical fool!
seems like he's participating as a collaborator on band Susperia, going to live with them. he posted this on his fan page on facebook.
Dark Souls boss fight theme
This wagnerian/mahlernian vibe is fucking dope...
💪🏼👽💅🏼
Ottoman Empire (1299-1922) Imperial anthem
The album before had a track called “Architecture of a Genocidal Nature,” so that would be a pretty symbolic continuation!
Sounds like something from Batman a little bit.
It would do a very good Batman theme...
Thumbs up if you bought that shitty Insanely Twisted Shadow planet only for Progenies of the Great Apocalypse! That game sucks hard, but with Progenies of the Great Apocalypse it became a masterpiece in gaming industry!
It's funny his name translates to black beard but he doesn't have a beard.
Batman. A Tim Burton film.
They should just make scores for movies, fuck the death metal
Batman...?
Batman
This version is stereo. The one with over 50,00 views is fucking mono... Lame.
Dimmu Borgir is so cheesy with this intro.
