- March 18th 2017 was the SoCal U4RC season opener to the Summer Series. I ended up racing two classes - 2.2" Comp with my Axial Bomber and 2.2" Indy with my Axial Yeti. Both vehicles did great, and I walked away with a 3rd place podium finish in the Indy class! To read my full report on the race check out my website here:

it's so funny how much bs can come outta such pure "geeky" hobby ( i say that in the kindest way being i love the hobby).. some people just take it way too serious!
Need More Voodoo tires in the Video LOL. Great Job and thanks for coming out again and making some great footage

Thanks for watching!
can you make a running video of the losi rock rey
That will be run this week and hopefully air this week as well
Hi Richard, great video, I currently have a Arrma vorteks mega (brushed), I am looking for a rc (1/8 or 1/10) that is on the 300$ price range to race. I have been looking for a while, thought I could use some help since I am a beginner. Any recommendations ? (Preferably stadium/buggy/short-course) Thanks, and I really enjoy the beginner series you are making, really helpful.
JoraRove _ The Team Associated RC10T4.3 rtr is an awesome deal at $260. If you pony up an extra 40 there's a version with a lipo battery and charger. Parts and support are everywhere, great bang for buck IMO.
where there a lot losi rock reys i saw 1 of them
Yeah, there were several of them. Two ended up DNF'ing early and no parts to fix - One was a front diff issue
My kind of racing :)
Thanks buddy - its a fun racing series
Nice video Rich, One Luv!
Thanks MTC!
Oh by the way....... TEKIN Power coming to get ya!
HOBBYWING for the win! Do you need to borrow my soldering iron?
cool man, congrats on placing!
Thanks humble!
hey Rich, is it possible you could do a video on shocks and oil I have an axial bomber and I'm not liking the stock fluid but I will me doing the dual shock mod so I will have 8 shocks instead of 4 but want a soft preload lots of dampening but soft if you know what I mean. any help would be great 👍👍
Yeah, I plan on an update video before I hit the next race. I don't think you need dual shocks - it may work against each other honestly. The bomber typically needs like 20wt on all four corners...depending on the weight and very light springs
Love the Yeti, awsome car.
I want to see a videos on what radios system u run cuz u do not have many videos on them!
The radio systems we use can be stock but a serious racer like me will run something like a MT4 from aritronics. You have 4 channels in case you want 4WS with a shifting tranny. Or you can install a drone alarm on a spare channel for a "turnmarshall" beeper. EPA settings are great too. I use my controllers ability to adjust steering speed on some tracks to dial in my turning feel. The New Spectrum 6 Channel surface radio is my next radio though.... as soon as I can get $500 for it LOL
you want an MT-4 or a version of it, you will never need another radio... IMO Good Luck!
Agreed I have had mine ever since it war released.... 5 years ago i think... no issues ever. never had even a glitch
awesome vid! Are we going to see a running vid/review of the Yokomo yd-2 drifter?
Yep, working on getting some decent footage
thumbs up
Thanks RCTA!
Good job Rich! Like these kind of running videos... I gotta ask though I saw the pit shots and noticed a non-Axial rig and wondered if was run in a race and if so how did it do? I'm talking about the one at 3:24... I believe it's called Wild Track among other things... I'm sure it's a clone of some kind, Helion or Axial I'm not sure.
Thanks SV08. Yeah, it was a clone truck. It's able to compete (I don't think the owner drove it though) as long as it complies with the rules of the class. I don't like or support the clone trucks though. They (the people selling them and the people making them) don't have the end user in mind, especially if you really race them. They cut corners and steal designs and logos to make them look like the real things, but they don't come close
Rich I understand your concern but in researching I've found that it's a Vaterra Twin Hammer among other names, and it seems not be a clone but just a continuation of the line under different names to saturate the market. I think there was another youtuber who explained this by doing a test on the plastic of both the Twin Hammer and "clone" and found they were formed in the same mold. I'm not advocating it per se just curious about it. Thanks for letting me know they'd let it run if entered.
At 4:03 are those yeti xls?
Josh Moorash no, all 1/10th scales
The RCNetwork do you know much about the arrma rcs. I'm interested towards a talion as my track is recommended for 1/8-1/10 but idk if the parts are durable enough to make not having them at local hobby stores acceptable.
All of the Arrma 6s vehicles are pretty durable. The Talion is pretty decent.....but I would consider the Typhon, as it's the smallest of the group and a bit more agile - typically 1/10th-1/8th tracks are catered to 1/10th. The Talion has a very wide stance
The RCNetwork thanks I'll look into it
