Congrats on starting your second year. It was a networking event that I voluntarily wanted to attend. Generally, I think litigators travel more often for actual projects. My experiences have solely consisted of conferences, networking events, etc.
Day in the life of a DUI lawyer with a solo practice: Get up at 7:45 a.m. Be in court by 8:30 a.m. Do a quick plea at 9:00 a.m. Go home (back by 9:45 a.m.) Convert $1,500 to fee. Spend the rest of the day chilling, maybe going to the grocery store, running the dishwasher, and planning to make another $1,000 tomorrow afternoon (so you can really sleep in). Your day of leisure will occasionally be interrupted by calls from prosecutors, new and potential clients, Court Clerk's who need to schedule Trial Dates etc. It can be pleasant to take those calls from bed. Have a set goal of how many thousands you try to earn each week/month/year. If anyone mentions "billable hours" or talks about having to "report to the partners" laugh long and hard. Oh, you will probably want to take up some hobbies to fill up your spare time, don't worry, money won't be an issue.
Friend, how many hours did you sleep that night? I’m starting as a big law associate in a year and I’m freaking out.
great vlog! what advice would you give to someone who wants to work in BigLaw and abroad?
Were you going to Germany fir a client/deal or for the networking event? Just started my 2nd year in Big Law!
