Love your reviews and content. Super informative, especially with the on-screen info. Please keep up the good work!!!!
Just the fact that you had that blooper reel at the end pushed me to subscribe, good stuff bro.
Outstanding review! Thanks for all the thoughtful details, great organization, and actually useful, intelligent information! I'm now a new subscriber.
Hi Brian, many thanks for your review. It's the most comprehensive I've found anywhere and really helped me with my purchasing decision. I also went ahead and subscribed to your channel based on the excellence of your review.
I have a Solo Yukon. It's great. I have a grill and don't travel with my fire pit so I didn't think the Breeo was the way for me. Whatever you get, enjoy it and the outdoors. Cheers!
Tremendous video, professionally done and personable! Enjoyed the bloopers, shows your human and confident!
really well done video! Congrats! Starting to budget for the fire pit and accessories we need / want.
the bloopers are the best! haha looks like me when I’m recording a song 🤪
Nice job on the video. I like the table of contents under the video. Well done.
Thanks for the video man! Just placed an order for the X series because of your video. Thank you for the info. I didn’t even know this brand existed until seeing this video. The fact that it’s a better product AND made in the US is a win for me! You vids are excellent!
Great review! My wife and I enjoyed it. Thanks. It helped us confirm we want the "Breeo" fire pit. Take care and be blessed. Thanks again. 🙂👍
Thanks for the informative review! You answered all of my questions, plus the questions I should have been asking but didn't know enough to ask. Great job!
Thank you for the feedback!!
Dude. You're awesome. Great job and thanks!
Buying a Solo stove.
Wow so much info posted. Good job!
Awesome review and comparison. I almost a Solo. Going with Breeo.
Great comparison! I’m shopping for a fire pit right now and these videos are helpful. It looks like the raised crossbars in the Breeo could get blocked by ash and airflow to feed the fire oxygen could suffer because of it. The Solo perforated dome is a good idea but it not being removable is a shame. I think that if Solo Stove made the dome removable that would be the game changer for me.
Just ordered the Breeo X. Thanks for the video.
Fantastic review! Tons of good info! Thanks!
Well done! Thanks, Brian.
!!! Love the bloopers. It takes real talent and confidence in that talent to release your...mistakes.
I'm more of a fan of the Biolite products or the big 'cowboy' kettles, like the ones you can get from 'Orvis'.
There are some interesting more traditional stove type units out there, but I've never used one.
As to 'fire pits' in general, with the restrictions on open flames in many urban and suburban communities, I'm leaning toward jell type pits, although you need to check the ingredients in the jell to make sure the burn is not releasing toxic crap.
Be informed. Be safe. Have fun.
Keep up the great work!
Great review! Thanks for the info.
Great video, very informative only the facts and well delivered.
This is very much like a Rocket Stove model of draft utilization. On Rocket Stoves, I have seen temperatures close to 500 degrees. All different sizes. In permaculture, people made stove type furnaces that run the heat through adobe bermed ductwork in the home. Thanks for your review!
Great comparison. Very informative.
Nice video Brian. I had already purchased the Breeo 19 before watching your video. It just reinforced that I made a good decision. The only comment I have is you didn’t mention spark arrest covers which I think most people overlook.
Very good video best one I have seem yet and a great sense of humor!
Made in USA should be a no brainer even though you thoroughly detailed review shows the clear choice.
Thank you! We live near Lancaster, PA, so it looks like the Breeo is the clear winner for us! Can't wait!
Thorough and informative review, really well done.
Got the Breeo ! It’s fantastic... it’s 24 inches across and competes dimensionally with the solo Yukon for significantly less !! And made in the USA !! Not China !!
Great video and you touched on all the important points. Bloopers were a fun touch. We will be going with Breeo bc we want made in the US AND it's made in our new home state as we are moving from NY to PA in June. "Like" button has been smashed....
Great job! Thank you!
Great video fun and informative thank you
Awesome review, thank you! Have you managed to check out the biolite firepit? Pretty awesome smokeless firepit/bbq.
jeez kid that was a hell of a video. keep it up
After watching this, you've definitely switched my mind from the Solo Stove to the Breeo X Series!
I have both and I suggest you go by more than just this video. The #1 thing IMO the Breeo has over the SS is made in USA, which is why I bought one. The Breeo is sturdier than the SS but that's it. The solo stove just works better IMO. As for the BBQ attachments? The Breeo does have better options but I'll stick to my big green egg and leave the fire pit for marshmallows.
Really good video! Thank you!
Great video. You should do an updated one.
Brian,
Thank you for your comparison on the two systems. I appreciate the bloopers reel at the end. Very funny.
I sub'd!
Loved the bloopers!
Great video, thanks ...
Great job. Appreciate it all. I’m going USA
great content! I was also looking into the tiki fire pit as well
I've seen the tiki, it appears it only uses pellets too? Is that what you've seen?
@@BrianFischer it takes pellets or wood. I was going to pick up the solo stove bonfire but saw that the stainless steel looses its luster pretty quickly
Good review. Thanks
Awesome review of both stoves. You answered all of the questions that I thought about.
We have a Breeo 24" Double Flame and we love it.
does this produce heat to warm people in seats sitting around?
Have the same. Great pit and got the stainless lid also.
Brady Herren yes when coals build up and keep wood loaded.
Excellent, thank you. What about the Tiki?
Impressive. Thank you.
Great review! Is there a cover you would recommend for the double flame 19 in addition to the lid? Thanks
Excellent video.
Great review. Unfortunately, some town ordinances restrict “open” burning. Check local rules in your area and, if you have an HOA, you can probably cancel the purchase.
Very informative❗️
Thank you John!
I like your presentations
Great video!
Good review overall. Not sure if I agree with the point that Breeo is more portable though. Solo stove is a lot lighter and even comes with an accessory handle that makes the yukon easy to carry with one hand.
This video was excellent! I was looking at the Solo but I think the Breeo looks a bit better after your side by side!
Same thing I mentioned to another commenter so I'm pasting that same comment here....
"I'm working on a video now with the Breeo X Series. If you're into cooking over the fire and have a little extra cash to spend, go with that!"
@@BrianFischer Just ordered my Breeo X24. Can't wait for it to get here
I generally like the Corten X 24 I've had for a little over six months - especially the grill and its ease of use. I think it's less smokeless than it could be because the welds are not continuous. This means the air gaps make for less-efficient airflow and results in many large, 1-2" unburnt coals. My primary complaint is the corten steel finish recently started flaking large (> 2") pieces on the outside. Breeo said it's because i patina'd the steel (which I did following their instructional video). The other minor complaint is that it came with a few deep scratches in a couple of the stainless steel feet. (Not from shipping, so poor QC.) The pit's weight and the sear plate overhang into the pit make it hard to clean out unless you use a vacuum as Brian's suggests. The sear plate does work well, but is very tough to clean and has very sharp edges. Definitely get the cover to keep the rain out and prevent your dog from licking the sear plate.
Excellent feedback Bob, thank you for posting.
Nice summary! I just became aware of these stainless fire pits because REI is offering the Solo 'Bonfire' on sale. After seeing that Solo's website offer several sizes, I was disappointed to find that it lacks means to cook. Your comparison of the Breeo specifically addresses this.
I got the Solo Stove Bonfire and I use the grill from my Weber on it. Fits perfect!
@@calitaco Thanks for the info!
It looks just like a drum from the front load wash machine that I am planning to use for the fire pit.
Congrats Jed Clampett.
Had a pit out of a washer it burns with very little smoke, also the enamel coating makes it last.
very wonderful review! i don't suppose you have a comparison of the solo stove vs the tiki smokeless fire pit?
I own both. Have the zentro Breeo drop in with the food cooking great. Love both and how portable my solo stove is to take on camping trips.
Wish I'd seen this before I ordered my Solo. Getting one made in PA, my home state, would have been great.
Thankfully I found this right after placing an order for a Solo. Cancelled it an ordered the Breeo 19. Can't beat made in the USA!
👆! My solo was a recent birthday gift from my wife and kids so I don't have the heart to say anything but personally as an American I always try to support American made products
Good stuff!
Great job!
Good review
Great video
Just bought a Breeo 19"made in Pennsylvania Dutch country not far from I was born in Lewistown PA not the stove me. It's quite heavy has a broad top on it and bought the grill attachment as well.
does not have a great at the bottom of it and wonder if I should buy something and put in there?
Good video, got the Yukon anyway lol
Can you use a duraflame log in either firepit?
You cannot grill on the Zentro as you stated. It is not meant for that according to their customer service dept and the lip actually angles to the outside. Drippings will therefore not slope towards the fire. The X series with the sear plate is the way to go.
What a stellar video, thank you man. I bought a couple Solos for family members and I love the heftiness of the Breeo. Gonna give the 24” Breeo a shot!
Did you end up getting the 24” Breeo and what made you decide that size versus the 19? I’m about to order one but can’t figure out what size I should get.
Wow. Good job man. You hit all the important points. Going Breeo.
Thanks for the feedback Daniel! I'm working on a video now with the Breeo X Series. If you're into cooking over the fire and have a little extra cash to spend, go with that!
Hi, forgive my poor knowledge and poor English. What is the name of the sort of vacuum cleaning system you called to clean the dust? Thanks a lot I want to learn more and possibly buy one
Stand for solo stove fits inside the pit nicely. The Bonfire is easy to use and transport when camping. The yukon is not.
Great vid, although it seems like this was a Breeo sponsored vid lol. I just bought a solo online cuz the reviews were pretty good and it was cheaper. Also the 19” Breeo is sold out.
To whom this may concern Own the Ranger solo purchase it in February of 2018 used it in a upper balcony two story up of the ground for every Friday night date nights with my wife of 36 years ,fires that lasted 4 hour a Friday and put out the fire by letting them burn down for 1/2 hour adding no more fuel the last half hour the unit works perfectly an my only complaint to solo I literally burned thru there fire grid ,I used oak in the small axed chucks because i have a LOT due to I heal cut down a dead oak an my friend an i have at that time roughly 12 cords due to the tree being so big ,the roots are the hardest and burn like no wood i have ever seen .
I sent pictures of the hole and They replace it for FREE very Fast a great Company for customer service and told me to keep the old one ,I now use the new one only on camping trips with a Cheaper grade of wood and have not burned thru the grid , now for a bonus ,i took the burned thru pit an had a new Grid cut to fit in stainless steel ,an the old one is just less hassle to poor out ash an than i had a steel tube rolled an welded to stand on the ranger that is 4 ft high to create a PIT BARREL Barbecue and owning the Original PIT Barrel and seeing the flaws it has such as no holes to rotate Cooking or varied cooking grids ,an ease to transport a Smaller cooking pit and buying a Lid that is domed i have created a multi type unit that is able to cook breads ,Pies an so many Dutch oven recipes on many of my Off-road camping adventures ,I have a screen built to keep sparks inside the pit an have had park rangers mad as hell about my fire until they see NO SPARKS AT ALL, BEARLY any smoke due to compleat Combustion of the solo ranger .The Solo cooking system with my ranger can feed ten people main course an deserts.
Mike I'm glad to hear that! I agree with you - the Ranger is a fantastic fire pit and due to its size it's perfectly portable and doesn't use a lot of wood compared to other larger options. I'm glad to hear you've had a lot of success with it on your balcony for 2 seasons now. That's interesting the roots burn so well - I'm curious to try that out myself if I ever get the chance.
Brian Fischer only lived on the balcony until 2019 ,a little over a Year but very safe to use due to the Burn an small foot print , I have burned pine tree roots that have dried out to and the oil in them light all on there own ,Oak root what a Work out took years to get it all due to size an location of my friends tree in his yard .
USA made pit is what went for. The cook feature is great....
Bought the breeo 24 inch stainless. Hands down best money spent..USA...made...
Do you receive benefits from Solo or Breeo?
The solo Black Friday deal of $229 makes the decision a no brainer
Yeah , I just bought two solo stove campfires and on ranger , all for the price of one of the breeo,. Made in the USA ??... okay .. I wouldn’t mind that , but When it’s half the price more ??... nah ,
It’s the USA company that’s keeping most of the profits
I'm planning to do some RV travel full time for a couple of years. Do you think it's practical to by the Breeo for travel? I was thinking of the 19 inch since it wouldn't be so heavy. I like the option to cook on it. Do you think that it's a good idea for that much travel?
It's do-able, no doubt. If we're being practical here, there's no really good way to transport a fire pit around. It depends on the space you have to work with amongst other things.
Hi, I bought the shield for the Yukon. It was expensive. Do I also need to buy a lid? If so, which one do you recommend for the 27” Yukon?
You don't "need" to in my opinion. A lid isn't readily available either unless you buy a custom one. An inexpensive alternative is a trash can lid if you really want to be sure sparks don't jump out after everyone has left the fire.
just buy the breed lid for the solo stove ? I was surprised Breeo recommended for tailgating over smaller solo.
Great video! Question for ya. The Solo Stove advertises that it's safe on decks if you get the stand. What's your opinion on the Breeo on composite decks? Is it safe for the deck with the built in stands or do you need an additional barrier? Thanks again!
No neither are safe for a deck wood or composite. You need to place some concrete pavers between the deck and fire pit and you'll be good.
@@BrianFischer I used a solo stove with the extra stand over a snow covered deck in 25 degree weather, and the snow of the deck never even melted. It's perfectly safe to use the solo stove on a deck IF you have the additional stand. I would not place it directly on the deck.
How well does the heat radiate from each...or how close must you sit to feel the heat?
Another video says insanely close. Like over the hole
Solo stove gives off almost zero side heat.
that dust stopper in the 5 gal bucket.... where did you get that?
Check it out here! amzn.to/31tWwMW
I'm just wondering if you ever do any videos on safety, and how to avoid setting an accidental forest fire.
Step 1: Use common sense.
Step 2: Don't use explosives in a gender reveal.
Step 3: Keep adequate water and a fire extinguisher on hand.
Step 4: See step 1
Something that no1 talks about: Larger is not necessarily better. I bought a chinese knockoff of the Breeo 24" and then switched to the 19" Solo. The reason is: these firepits only work (smokeless) when then are going hot. If you don't have enough firewood in there, you will not get that smokefree action you expect. The larger the firepit, more wood it will take to keep it smoke free, and it will go thorough that wood quicker. For my situation (6-8 people around the fire), the 24" Breeo knock off was too much. So, I would recommend consider your needs before buying the largest firepit you can afford
This guy is pretty good.
I'll buy the solo stove from you...seriously
I may have missed this in the video, but my main concern is with heat distribution. Which would you say would be hotter for someone sitting 4-5 feet away? I've heard that with the Solo you would need to be right on top of it to feel anything compared to the Breeo.
You do need to be right on top of the Solo stove. The basic design of the Breeo means that the sides get much hotter than the solo stove. While I have no direct experience with the Breeo, I have to imagine that it's better at radiating side heat. The Solo Stove never gets all that hot on the sides because cool air is constantly flowing up the chamber. It does get hot, just not as hot as the fire itself.
@@madmagrider solo makes a heat deflector that warms the legs and feet
with the solo fire Yukon model.. IF I purchase the stand for it, can it sit on a wooden deck with no issues?
Brady - You'll still want to use pavers or a heat shield underneath. It still gets quite hot underneath so you'll need something to protect your deck. See it here: yardiac.com/38-must-have-outdoor-fire-pit-accessories/
How do you edit your videos? Do you use a certain software?
premiere pro
Solo ends up being more smokeless and much warmer. This allows more people and they can sit further away. Can leave for 15-20 minutes. Logs are standard size 16". You have to cut the Breeo and that's a hassle. Breeo is heavier if you look to move it.
Solo stoves have been adding a bunch of accessories to their product line since your video I think...
They now make a stainless lid. I bought one on sale for $40.
Which one produces the most heat for a deck? Thank you
I do not have an exact answer for that yet. My semi-educated opinion is the Breeo produces more radiant heat. There's more steel in the design (just by looking at the weight alone), which will likely dissipate more heat. If you plan on trying to put it on your deck. There's a few accessories you might want to protect it. You can see those in my article here: yardiac.com/38-must-have-outdoor-fire-pit-accessories/
@@BrianFischer Thanks for this. I am also thinking the Breeo would radiate more heat given the weight/thermal mass. (About double the Solo bonfire.) But... there is another related question. If the Breeo has more thermal mass, it might take significantly longer to reach temps where the fire becomes smokeless. I live in the city and am looking for a firepit that I can bring up to a smokeless state quickly without annoying the neighbors. Given your experience with both, any thoughts on this?
Thank you for the information. I would recommend as you're speaking in your next video - show the products/video of them - that you speaking about. Not video of you talking.
The base the comes with the solo stove stays cool enough and won’t burn the lawn. The Breeo has legs that are attached and they get red hot.
That is correct Steven. The Solo Stove can still burn the lawn as well. The fire is elevated higher than the breeo, but it still gets very hot underneath.
@@BrianFischer I agree but I think that because the solo stove base is a separate piece and has holes in it that the heat dissipates quickly. I’ve burned mine in the front yard for entire evenings and never scorched the grass. Now if you don’t use the base that’s another thing altogether.
The Solo stove sells a lid separately
