    I just want to thank you for all your scan n cut tutorials! I watch your channel often and it has help me with my scan n cut a lot. Because of you it’s still in one piece! 🤣 I get so frustrated, then I watch your tutorials and magic happens! Appreciation 💕

      Kathy, yes, never take a hammer to the poor thing, no matter how frustrating it gets. There is always a work around or some kind of way to get it to do what we want. Then, when all else fails, we just give up because it is only ink and paper. We can move on. I absolutely love how this machine has taken my crafting to a whole new level. Thanks for watching and for your comment and funny icon.

    Absolutely love the last card you showed with the sentiment on the front. The colors are beautiful together and the embellishments were a nice touch.

      It is great how everyone loves my cards which are the easiest to make. I am going to use that one to write Rhonda's message on and the ones that are laser cut will go in the tin. I am going to try to do a quick video for The Papered Chefs before I mail it off.

    Love the cards Kim. As always your tutorial was great. Right now I'm on a project doing something else but when I get done I will be playing with my scan and cut more and going back to your tutorials. Rhonda is going to just love those cards. TFS Have a great day.

      I am secretly hoping she doesn't watch this tutorial so that she is surprised. It is just that after all that coloring, I felt the need to share these projects with my crafty friends.

    Tried it stamped 8 multi birds and four single on 8.5 x 11 on very vanilla on setting 6 (my needle is dull) and out came 3 of 4 single birds and 6 of 8 multi..not sure why didn’t recognize all but I m so pleased and excited. Now to color. Before I always colored first.

    • @PaperedChef
      @PaperedChef  5 років тому +1

      Katey, your results are actually pretty good. You actually can see for yourself now why it is good to color them later, only if they cut out. Also, another reason I forgot to mention is that I don't always know which colors I am going to use. It depends on my projects. That way, I have a bunch cut out and ready to go for when I need them.

    Impressed am I. I was drawn into watching the entire video and so glad I did as I definitely want to emulate your card. They are so worth giving. If you Stamp a whole page of the image can you use the tape along one side when you initially feed and then when it cuts. I have a difficult time with my paper sticking to the mat. I was able to cut the magnolias like you showed in your other video.

    • @PaperedChef
      @PaperedChef  5 років тому

      Thanks for continuing to watch the video. I hide gems all over my videos and usually save my projects for last because I want you to be able to see WHY we are cutting out the stamped images. When you are scanning, be sure not to tape over the registration marks. I also usually cut a page of stamped images at once. If your mat is too sticky, then try this. Just stick the area to your shirt. The lint on your shirt will make it less sticky. Then, you can use that area to put down your card stock. Also be happy with a sticky mat because it will not last long. Then, you will be watching my videos on how to restick the mat. So happy you cut the magnolias. Go girl!

    Thank you so very much for this video. Unfortunately I don’t think my husband will thank you...because now I absolutely want this machine. Everyone I know said to get the Cricut Explore Air so that’s what I bought. I truly had no idea what the Scan and Cut could do! Arghhhh....
    Thank you again. Your video was very clear with directions. I agree with you-who would want to color first then have it not cut or cut incorrectly because of a coloring snafu.

      Hi Cheri, thanks for watching. Yes, it sure is amazing and to do what I did, you didn't even need to be connect to a computer. Here is my referral link for WHEN, not IF you get one. .I use a Cricut too but this machine just blows me away. I am using the CM350 here and will start using the DX this summer. You can use the link to buy either model but it is all a matter of what you can afford. There, now your hubby is mad at the both of us. ScanNCut2 CM350

    Hi, I found you by searching for Brother Scan n Cut tutorials :) made me happy as I love how you teach! Being new to card making I've collected a plethora of 'stuff' from several places (had some things from years ago scrapbooking.) I have various disabilities so using my cuttlebug(barely used) and bug shot were my options. This past Christmas I was gifted a Brother Scan n Cut dx125 and just turned it on a couple weeks ago. Was very fearful I'd break it. My thoughts on wanting it was I would have to physically struggle with the big shot. Grateful for your videos as I was about to purchase an automatic die. cutter. Anywho apologies for my rambling. I'd like more info on becoming part if your team. I have absolutely no one around me the least but Interested in any crafts whatsoever, sad isnt it ? Can I pm/email you so for more info? I'm blessed with a sew/craft room which has to many machines and I'd rather not add another right now. Hopefully you. An help me out...please :)

Use the secure contact for on my web site and then we can email back and forth. UA-cam doesn’t have a way to do this easily. paperedchef.stampinup.net

      Thanks Chrissy, you are welcome. Of course I have the Take Your Pick tool too and I use it a lot. I am going to start using it for taking things off of my mat because I actually know where that tool is right now as opposed to my little spatula which is always missing in action.

      Thanks Lynn, you reminded me of the third reason I color after cutting. That is because I am not sure which colors I will use. It depends on my projects and I like to have a lot of stamped images cut out ahead of time so that they are ready to cut and use.

    I LOVE your tutorials on the Scan n Cut...I recently purchased one, but haven't tried it yet. Please tell me, what is the smallest outline image it will cut? TY 💕

    • @PaperedChef
      @PaperedChef  5 років тому

      Thanks for watching and for your comment. On this particular model, the smallest outline distance you can cut is a 0.4". However, that is just when the machine is stand alone. Once you start connecting to the Brother Canvas Workspace online, you have even more options.

    Another amazing video! I have had issues with cutting out designs that aren’t high contrast - such as stamping black on a fairly dark background. Do you have any tips for making that work? Thank you!

    • @PaperedChef
      @PaperedChef  5 років тому

      Hi Pam, unfortunately, if you can't see a lot of contrast, either can the scanner. You have a few options. One is to heat emboss with a light color of powder and then it will have some contrast. Another is to use Color Recognition mode and then increase the threshold (number value) to get a better sample of color. Another thing you can do is use Scan to Cut data with one image that you stamp with black ink on white paper. Then, use that same image to place it over the darker image you want using the Background Scanning feature. Not really worth the time and effort in my opinion but if it needs to be done, it is worth a shot.

    Thanks for the video. I wonder if you could answer a question I have about the Scan N Cut CM350. I have had problems with direct cut wanting to cut inside images like the eyes or glasses. Thanks.

    • @PaperedChef
      @PaperedChef  5 років тому +2

      Hi Melanie, thanks for watching. With the Direct Cut feature, you can't cut the inside and outside of stamped images or patterned paper. For that, you have to use Scan to Cut Data. Here is one of my tutorials on this topic and I also created a play list for cutting the inside of stamped images so be sure to check that out too. ua-cam.com/video/LQNUQScg-NE/v-deo.html

      Not sure what you mean but if you mean that I need another machine, I have that in the works. It is more of a want than a NEED. I am already on my second ScanNCut and it works great. It does everything I want it to. However, I like new tech toys so I plan on unboxing the ScanNCut DX this summer and then I will develop another course on Udemy using the newer model. I will still not give up my current machine as long as it keeps working so well.
