  • This beach in Scotland is one of the best hidden gems i have ever found. Small little private secluded beach at the end of a peninsula with perfect sand and sea. If you visit this place please leave it the way you found it!

    Great to see someone else that loves exploring off the beaten path in forests. Sometimes I just find a quiet spot and just sit and watch wildlife. Having a hidden beach to visit is just icing on the cake. I used to have walking holidays in Scotland every year but can no longer travel that far due to health, your video reminds me why I love it so much. Hope you have a great time up there.

    Some of my favourite beaches are in Scotland, especially around Mull and Iona. White sand, turquoise sea, amazing wildlife and barely another soul to be found. Great for swimming and just exploring.

    It may seem odd to you that so many people subscribe to your channel. But to people like me, who are confined to a walker, and who had Scotland on their bucket list; I can't tell you how much it means to me to be able to see these places that I would never be able to see on my own. So thank you for taking us along on your adventures, and allowing me to see places that I would never otherwise be able to.

Really grateful for your company today even if it's just for a few minutes. Sunday is usually my day for hiking too but unfortunately, due to plantar fasciitis, I'm having to rest for a while. Watching this brought back some great memories (yet again!).
    Before I came out here to Brazil, in 2009, I lived Great Corby, near Carlisle and the Scottish Solway coast was one my favourite areas for this very reason - that it isn't commercialised and is little visited.
    Before moving to Cumbria, I lived in West Yorkshire, where I was born and that's how I got watching your videos - the Strid and that whole valley was one of my favourite haunts too.
    Really enjoy watching your videos! We may have a nicer climate here in Brazil but there are many places in the UK that are just as beautiful. It's a real shame that most people never actually get to see them.

      Hey Anthony glad you were able to unlock some memories with this video. I enjoy watching other videos of areas i've been to before but enjoy watching it from their perspective. I'm sure if you ever return to this part of the world again that you will enjoy an adventure here even more than previously. Nostalgia is a powerful thing.

    Jack, really really pleased you have not named this and explained your concerns about disrespecting areas and wondered about video etiquette. I started exploring wild parts of Scotland over 35 years ago. Later when the whole you tube thing started I wondered about making videos but reflected on it and decided I wasn't keen on doing it. I've seen parts of the UK being ruined by too many people and too many expectations. I think you mean well and are thoughtful but I do think there is something a bit narcissistic about aspects of social media. Years ago people wrote books and others had to physically be interested enough to go and find out about the book and buy it. Exploring the UK required some commitment and research and this helped to some degree in filtering and self limiting the worst aspects of visitors. Social media pushes things at people 24/7 and attracts people who want everything easy. I was brought up on "leave no trace" and I have started to think that should extend to our digital footprint as well. Are we producing a form of digital litter? I think you have no deliberate intention of doing that but are intelligent and reflective and are aware that there could be issues. It's a journey we make in life and we make choices about our impact. Perhaps there is another ethos, one in which we choose not to shout about everything but enjoy our private experiences ourselves. Perhaps to calmly and wisely take them to our graves.

    • @jackasnacks
      @jackasnacks  Рік тому +1

      Yeah agreed Matt, a few people have asked for the actual location which i didn't end up giving but there are enough subtle hints in the video to find it if you actually want to come here. If you take the time to figure out where it is you're probably the type of person that will respect the area and so are very welcome to go adventure here. If you advertise it and put it in peoples faces thats when it becomes too easy for the average person and can ruin the vibe of a place. When i first arrived here i couldn't believe how pristine it was. Comparing it to other popular places i really enjoy the hidden ones. I feel closer to it all when its hidden.

    That rocky coastlines is just like Yachats here at the Oregon coast. I love driving there from Corvallis, where I live. Cape Perpetua, it's all just facinating to me geologically. Great video man. I do exactly the same exploring off the paths here in Oregon. I really should get in the habit of filming some of the experiences. I take photos but really enjoyed this video, it's crazy how similar the ecology was in some spots, with all the moss and thick trees in some spots. It's the best.
