The world may have their version of happiness. But our prophets pointed us to the eternal and correct version. Of which we must seek to obtain while in this life.

These apostles have lots of experiences to share because they've chosen to do good so many times. I used to think they were boring to listen to because they weren't all animated and acting like I saw in entertainment. My life used to be mostly about entertaining myself. Now I realize they don't want to detract or distract from the spirit. Some 70's are excited to share their message and there's nothing wrong with that, everyone has their place and sometimes change is refreshing, but I don't think these talks are boring anymore. I had to realize it's more about learning than being amused, and it's supposed to get you thinking and not just fill space. It can be enjoyable in a different way. My sense of humor has changed from "oh that's funny I thought that too haha" to "oh that is so true I love it haha I completely agree haha" so now I actually get a kick out of some of these, because I've gained some of my own spiritual experiences and find commonalities or ways to relate to what they are saying. The more righteous you live the more you will enjoy this kind of thing, the more you enjoy this kind of thing the more you will choose it and reap the spiritual benefits. Nothing should replace our spiritual nourishment. It's not enough to stay alive, you have to really live and choose happiness. Righteousness is happiness, the more you watch this the happier you will be. Other shows and media bring temporary happiness, pleasure or enjoyment, but learning these truths brings lasting eternal happiness and feels a major void or gap that helps lead to our progression. These church leaders have a different kind of enthusiasm than pretending they actually know what they're talking about and aren't acting, they're being sincere, honest and truthful. I appreciate it and actually look up to them now and want to marry and be someone like they are, instead of thinking they're long-winded boring old people like I used to lol

    Just some thoughts here.
Jobe is an interesting story whose origins is probably outside of actual Jewish experience. Most Scholars, even Jewish scholars believe the story is not Jewish in origin. But, its meaning is still relevant today in spite of it not being an authentic Jewish story. It tackles tough questions like. Do bad things happen to good people? If God only blessed us when we did good would we only do good to get blessings? During 500BC-200AD people didn't have as wide breadth of language to articulate and describe the world they live in and how to act in it as we do today. Most of the Bible is written through narrative and story form to convey a specific principle, philosophy or idea.
Even though we know gods are not like the Egyptians or Babylonian ones similarly presented in the Book of Job. The kind that play games and make bets with each other while torturing and killing a Man's family. There's a really important message being presented nonetheless. We see an underlying theme trying to be portrayed in a way that the culture of the time could better understand.
1.Bad things happen to good people.
    2. There is much of this world that is outside of our control.
    3. Having faith, staying perpetually positive and never giving up might help you survive to live another day.
    4. Even when all is lost one can still come out better than before when you thought everything was going great.
